    Nice little unit. Reminds me of the little portable Sony we had when I was a kid, that used to go everywhere with us, but with a lot more features (though RDS / radio text on FM would be a nice addition - plenty of space on that LCD.)

    Love watching your videos as soon as they come out. After watching this video I ordered this one off of Amazon and I really like this radio. It truly does do about everything. Nice little radio that you can take out on the deck and either listen to the radio or listen to my mp3 tunes. Thank you for the review.

    Hi. Ordered that radio from Amazon and was impressed the moment it came out of the box. Built in air-conditioning nice construction and it works quite well for its size and tiny antenna for AM and SW. Haven't got the correct card yet, but it's on my laundry list.

    Hi. Just wanted to let you know, I finally bought this radio today, through your link. I got it directly from the company's eBay store, it had free shipping, and it's coming from California, so I should get it real soon. They offered a 3-year protection plan for less than $2, so I got it. The only other charge was tax. Looking forward to getting it! 📻

    They are a good little radio, hooked mine up to a long wire antenna for short wave. I also have a cheap solar panel with USB out that charges it great. I also found another sub menu that allows you to change bass treble etc, but only works in certain play modes. Over all a good little radio, great for shtf bug out bags

    What a cracking little radio :-D and the mic recordings are very good for a change. It's likely got that american made radio dsp chip that works amazingly. The case looks like a mini version of the tecsun/xdata range of radios. I think the case look was inspired by the Sony icl radios from 20+ years ago. It does really well with all the electronic noise in your house, get away from the noise and it will be even better :-D

    I got one from them that plays mp3s don't think it records but it's been pretty nice to listen to talk radio on. Rolton used to make one that took 18650s and so does one called Prunus that takes dual 18650s. So I loaded them up with good batteries and they play for a week for me at least.

    That's a neat little radio, and with so many functions packed into it. Might have to pick one up. That bass speaker on the back doesn't seem to have wires going to it, like in many bluetooth speakers which have the same thing.

    Some of these V115s have much better AM reception than others. The two I've tried so far were rather noisy even on strong signals. And the shortwave band is nearly useless. Overall I found it more useful as an MP3 player than as a radio.

  • @jeromeglick

    The manual doesn't say anything about max storage. I'm running a 32 GB card which is the largest capacity for SDHC (high capacity) format. In a reply to another comment here, 12voltvids did say that the card needs to be formatted in FAT32. Anything larger than 32 GB would be an SDXC (eXtended capacity) card which, according to Wikipedia, comes formatted with exFAT as a "mandatory feature". Perhaps you could reformat a larger card to FAT32 but I haven't tried it. The manual doesn't say anything about recording length limits either. One time I started a recording but forgot to turn it off. It recorded for 5 hours until the battery ran out.

    I bought one of these and I like it so far. Audio is nice and loud and reception is sensitive. The recording feature is nice but they must be using the Blade MP3 encoder with dual channel so the quality isn't the greatest. LAME encoding is better. It does record at 64, 96, and 128kbps at 44,100hz. The headphone output is a little tinny on headphones but if I use a mini headphone amp I made from a pair of cube iPod speakers then the audio is better.

    @@coondogtheman On mine it states "V 2.3" in the Settings options. I'm pretty sure there's no way for a consumer to easily update it. The micro-USB is for charging only, and I can't see any options for flashing via a TF card. I bought mine from Retekess in China, but I'm certain that they didn't design or make it. As the same radio is also sold with at least two other brandings, like Tivdio. The actual OEM is presently unknown.

    I wonder if the spectrum analyzer is real or is it just for show?

  • @jeromeglick

    @jeromeglick

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it's real but not that precise. If you played an MP3 with a single sine wave test tone, multiple bars would rise to form a hill shape on the graph, not just a single bar like on a precise analyzer. It also appears to be a linear spectrum display, not the more common and useful logarithmic display.

    In Radio mode, press and hold Play, it'll go thru the full band and auto save all the stations. I love my V115, but only for MP3 & FM. AM & SW reception is not good. It's great for recording FM Microphones for video camera work tho'. Don't pay more than US$25, it's called either Tivdio or Retekess. NEVER leave the battery inside if you're running it off USB power. It doesn't have a proper charge circuit cutoff and will burn out your battery.

    Good to know about battery. Will remove it because I use it as an mp3 player to feed an RF modulator. As to the auto station good info but i did it manually because I didn't want the Punjabi, Chinese or french stations in memory and we have several of them here. They used to be deligated to the SCA service but now they have am and FM broadcast licences.
