I can not believe you buy into the BS that RGP tries to say he is exposing. He is exposing nothing. Stores do not liquidate their products just because they are on clearance. They do not leave clearance out on the floor until they are gone. Sometimes it gets packed up to make room for holiday seasonal products which have a very short selling window. Very few stores will keep garden center product out on the floor thru the holidays. The only products that get liquidated in short order is holiday merchandise (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentines, etc). Corporate buyers determine markdowns and when they are taken. At times, store management is given some discretion to take a bigger markdown on some items when they are trying to clean up inventory and getting rid of permanently discontinued merchandise. A local manager got fired when he took that discretion a little too far. Garden center merchandise does not fall into the category of must get rid of. Quite often basic seasonal products are packed up until the following season. IF product is basic instock items, it may get marked back up for the beginning of the new spring floor set. Some stores convert the garden centers into storage during the holidays as stores never have enough space inside for all the product they get during the 4th quarter. This store essentially made part of their garden center a temporary stock room where gondolas acted as walls or barriers. The curtain acted as a doorway. Anyone with a 2nd grade education would understand that. The minute the curtain was put up with a sign blocking off a section of the garden center, it became stock room and no longer sales floor. RGP says he worked in retail loss prevention so he knows this. Anyone looking at the boxes of merchandise and pallets on the floor would know this. RGP may have entertaining videos for some and provided limited training information for people. He crossed the line twice in this video. First he went into an area where he knows he did not belong and by filming is encouraging others to do the same. He essentially went into a stores stockroom. Second, he started looking in boxes in the storage area. Again, that is something you do not do. RGP needs to stick to educating on retail arbitrage and not promoting for people to trespass and and potentially get into trouble for entering areas of stores they are not supposed to be. He has a young daughter. He should be setting an example of a strong moral compass for her. In this video, the moral compass was tossed out and he essentially is telling his daughter it is OK to cheat in life as long as you benefit from it. He could have just gone to a sales associate or manager and asked to look at the product for sale in the blocked off area.

@@thriftyninja0075 Apparently I know a lot more than you about running a retail store. I have worked retail management for more than 30 years from running a store to working out of the corporate office. Walmart may be a volume seller. That does not mean they needlessly give away their merchandise for pennies on the dollar. Full priced merchandise will always take precedence over clearance. The object is to sell product before it becomes a markdown. It is not the goal of any retailer to line the pockets of a reseller. KZread resellers selling on FBA are actually killing their own business model promoting it on you tube. Look at all the items that are now being gated on Amazon. There used be thousands of items that could be sold on Amazon that are now gated and you need to be a vendor authorized dealer. A store receipt can not be substituted for a actual invoice to prove your goods are legit. The list grows daily.

I think I’d intentionally leave a few or maybe buy and donate some stuff. For some people, this clearance section is the only way they’ll get these toys. I used to raid the shelves like that but then I realized I was not leaving anything for the widow who was on a budget or the fatherless being raised by a single mother. I realized my bad karma was from greed and selfishness. All those times of wondering why shit was going bad and I was getting bad hauls, fluctuations in high returns, customers leaving 3 and 4 star reviews when they were clearly 5 star post. Karma does approve of First come First Serve and Serve Yourself Everything and leave nothing for others. Some people wonder where shit comes from that wears on them, their possession and eats their profits and health. I started following a Native American custom which is talking one of every three I find and I would only take the last one, if it was the last one left. So how did this turn out for me? I picked up 5 ares last years in North Florida for camping and hunting for $12,500 cash and it's only 1 hour out of my city, has a class 3 magnitude spring across the dirt road. A 5 year old Ford F-250 4X4 Crew Cab truck for $4,500 yes $4,500. A 5 year old Dodge Minivan for $3,500 cash it had 39,000 miles on it and we are the 2nd owners. A 1987 Jeep Wrangler with 67,000 miles on it that sat in a garage waiting to be driven to college by his grandson for $4,000 because his grandson wanted a mustang. We are the 2nd owners of the Jeep also. A 25 foot sailboat on the trailer for $5,500. A brand new 25 foot sailboat is about $70,000 and I could go on and on with this list. We wet into a Best Buy to see if they would have the 17 inch Omen Gaming Laptops we wanted to buy the next day. The manager pulled them and sold us three the day before they were scheduled to go on the shelf and while checking out, he came over and told us we could have two free Chrome books that customers had returned and the Geek Squad certified as like new. My wife was working as a copy girl at a company and three years later she was head of her own department. She makes $70,000 a year now and she was making minimum wage as a copy girl. Greed is one of the seven deadly sins and racks up some of the worst bad karma there is. A thief is driven by greed and a thief owes seven times the value of what they take that was meant for someone else or owned by someone else. Some people think karma is a bitch but Karma is only reflecting each person's mentality and actions back at them. To our family, karma is a sexy lover who is generous, kind and full of mercy. For those who say, I don't believe in Karma, I believe in God. The bible says that people receive A Mark for their evil deeds. The same letters for Karma is also in A Mark. Karma and A Mark is the same thing. Bad Karma is A Mark of 666. Their the same thing. Those who act like a Beast are marked with the number of the Beast and the mark we see are their deeds/actions. I had one guy tell me, I don't believe in that shit, I'm an Atheist. I asked him, "Do you believe in what goes around, comes around?" He replied, "Yup, everyone knows people only get away with so much shit and it comes back to bite them." Again, it's the same thing.

Those red food baskets are 10 cents for pack of 4. I seen Walmart hide stuff on the very top shelf and had to get them to go get a ladder to get them for me. Love when Walmart tells me the items must of been stolen and I tell them all 126 of them? And they are dumb founded. The really good deals are differently hidden that's for sure.

@@thriftyninja0075 What is a store supposed to do. Do you want them to complete store wide inventories every day. Many reason why a store can not find an item. Theft is number one. Stolen items never pass thru a scanner to take out of inventory. Customers also hide products to come back and get later when they have money. I have seen it happen many times and I have done it myself when there was an item I wanted but did not have the money available. It is not hard to tuck an item behind a few gallon paint cans and come back a day or two later for it after payday.People are relying too much on stupid apps that tell you a store has something. All these apps do is tell you something should be there. They can not tell you where in the store it is. Walmart associates also do not have hours available to search for items you are trying to find.

I think it is their company and they can do what they want. So many people cry and whine. They sold it to employees, they hide stuff. It is their store period. They can do what they want. If you do not like it do not shop there. Simple. Not trying to be mean or hateful just stating the facts. If you want to have your own store and make your own rules then you people can go do that.

I’m tired of seeing this shit logic. Just because a company exists does not give it the right to do whatever it wants nor does it exclude that company from being criticized for its shitty business practices. If people didn’t call out companies on their shit the world would be in a far worse place than it already is. It’s bad enough that this consumer culture breeds ignorant and dependent off spring.

The after Christmas clearance for 2017 was fantastic, sale for 2018 ... lets just say I didn't pick up but just a couple of things. Last walk through a couple of days ago, big sale ... if you consider a difference of just $2 to $4 off retail being a big sale! I don't!

Thank you for all the guidance. I just started doing RA for a month and using BrickSeek. I'm not having much luck on finding items. For example, I go to Walmart where Brickseek says there are like 15 quantity and there is none. I checked the aisle where the product should be and the clearance section to no avail. I even asked employees to scan the Brickseek item bar code and there system also shows quantity on hand but they don't know where it is. Is it best to ask for a manager to look for it in the back at that point? Thanks again.

It's not profit until the money hits your bank account. Until then, it's unrealized sales and money out of pocket. Of course, this whole thing works better if you have a fat credit card to put all this on while waiting for it to sell. That way you can usually get points and spread the cost across a longer stretch of time..

I don't think they are actually hiding the items. At my local WM I've had the good fortune to find some items on clearance which I purchased for personal consumption (one example: an item that was selling for $229 and change, so let's just say $230 when it was full price. They had it on clearance for half price so $115, but here is the kicker; they were having a special clearance blowout which they were taking an additional 50% off the lowest clearance price. I got that item for just under $58 at a time Amazon was selling the same item for $260 and they were offering a trade-in price higher than what I paid for what I bought. The next day I found another similar deal and got a $200 item for $50.). I had considered buying any remaining to either sell online of trade in at a profit on Amazon. The third day I went back to buy another of the same item I got the first day as my mother had wanted one but not at full price. She was shocked when I told her what I paid so I told her I would go pick it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see they still had a couple left so I was going to buy both. When time to cash out, each time they were scanned there was a scanning error and no price was coming up. The cashier tried to do a manual price entry for each which of course triggered an exception override approval needed by a CSM. I got a "due diligence" one who contacted the department manager for additional information. Both the CSM and I were informed that the items were pulled from clearance as they were eligible for return to their distributor and they opted to do that to mitigate further losses on sales. I even tried to purchase without the bonus 50% but was informed that the items had been removed from inventory and I couldn't even purchase one for the original ful sales price since they were already scheduled for return to distributor. Another item somewhat similar but at a significantly lower reduction that I asked about turned out to also be set for return. They explained to me that depending on the distributor and item type, some are eligible for return and others are not (having the knowledge that I do from my college education as well as having worked in various parts of the business chain, I'm sure this was a case of how they purchased them and what they paid. Especially with volume retailers, some will purchase product at a per piece price which is very low in return for eating the cost of defective returns as well as being stuck with any unsold units which are then typically marked down rapidly to clear them out and recover what they can for those remaining products. That's more common with lower prices items with a decent turnover rate. Other items are purchased at a fairly high per piece price in return for receiving credit or stock replacement for defective returns and unsold units can be sold back for cost of near cost of the item. Of course in the latter example the profit margin is typically quite low while in the former example the profit margin is significant so that even if a certain amount have to be sold for next to nothing and some returns also have to be sold at a substantial discount or just scrapped completely then overall a fairly decent profit is realized due to what was made on ordinary sales. The trick to being successful is knowing what you expect to sell, the typical defect rate and the current demand for each type of item and how long it will last and/or if in the case of seasonal items how likely the item is to be in demand again. It's basically retail gambling. Stores do make mistakes and some things don't sell as expected, at least in that area, and each has a finite amount of room for excess stock so there are times that a store has to take the loss to give space to other items that are in demand and selling quickly. Ideally using the "just in time" stock model is best however there are factors such as time of year, weekends, holidays, severe weather events, paydays and benefits receipt days as well as many others which can result in being sold out with days before next replenishment or for a variety of reasons it's possible that very little sold and there may be almost no place to put anything in the stockroom when the next delivery arrives. Those who engage in arbitrage have to deal with these same factors. Some get lucky and pick an item that does well in their delivery chain. I'm sure most, if not all, ended up taking losses as well due to any of a myriad of market factors.

Those pallets painted blue are known as CHEP pallets. If you see a pallet in the aisle way of the store with merchandise on it, you can get around it. In the closed off area those pallets were used for storage. Anyone could easily "trip" since they were so closed together and sue. He had absolutely no right to enter the "closed curtain" since it was posted. The aisle was closed to the public. It's not nit picking. It's about safety and he ignored it. Had he had fallen and broke a leg, you bet he would have sued.

When you call corporate all you are getting is a low wage customer service rep that just wants you off the phone so they will say what you want to hear. Hopefully Walmart lossprevention gets wind of your video and sends out there own BOLO. They can fire off your picture and just say you are banned from all Walmart stores. The sign I read says closed. Closed is the same as telling you do not enter or stay out. You crossed a line today and trespassed. You are going to cause Walmart to treat resellers the same way Target does

I have worked retail management for 30 years. We have banned people from our stores for doing less. You can very easily be banned for promoting and encouraging people to trespass. Areas of a store are closed for a reason. You say you worked retail lp so I would think you would know that. What do you think happens when you stumble over items laying around and get injured when you are in a location you do not belong. It is hard to believe that you could have worked retail for 10 years and be so ignorant to not know that retailers box up out of season products to put back out at full retail the following season. There is no big conspiracy. You are just looking for clickbait.
