I am a 70 year old male who had an enlarged prostate, which caused a poor urine flow, and three or four - sometimes five - trips to the bathroom every night, which meant a very poor sleep pattern. I started taking 20,000 IU of vitamin D3 per day with K2 and magnesium in early January, 2021, and now after five weeks my urine flow has become normal again, and I find myself needing to go to the bathroom only twice a night at most, usually only once - sometimes not at all! I fully intend to continue taking at least 20,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day with the cofactors, and I expect nothing but good and even better results. Also, I have suffered from psoriasis, an autoimmune disease of the skin, for 47 years. My psoriasis has caused me misery for two-thirds my life. However, after about a month of taking a high dose of vitamin D3 with the cofactors, my psoriasis started to fade away, and is now at a point where it is no longer a problem, and is hardly noticeable - and decreasing rapidly more every day. That is HUGE! Psoriasis has dominated my life since I was about 23. It is unsightly, embarrassing, extremely uncomfortable, painful, and a lot more. Getting rid of it in just one month by taking a cheap, safe, and easily available compound every day is truly amazing. No doctor ever told me this could happen! As an older person, I had started to have the kind of mild aches and pains in my joints and muscles that many older people have. After five weeks of taking 20,000 IU of vitamin D3 and its cofactors, I no longer have any aches and pains! I feel better today than I felt at 40! This stuff works for me, and it will probably work for you too! :-)

Also get on fermented veggies train which rejuvenates your microbiome which is essential for proper functiontioning of the immune system. Eat a lot of veggies as they are the fiber rich food which then feeds the beneficial gut bacteria and forms biturate - the SFA/short chain fatty acid that creates the thin protective gut layer so the gut would not be permeable any more and autoimmune issues will fade away. Biturate also switches on the most protective anti oncogene p53, so it is another good reason to munch on those veg.

Sunshine vitamin or steroid hormone was the most powerful medicine on earth given by our CREATOR. Sun Exposure The best way to get vitamin D3 is through sun exposure. Go outside and get some sun, especially in the mid-day when it’s the strongest. However, many of us use sun block, which is good for our skin but not so helpful when it comes to the production of vitamin D3. By blocking out the UVA and UVB rays, sun block can interfere the skin’s ability to synthesize vitamin D3. GOD BLESS.

@Ken hnry Recent research shows that vitamin K2 may have an effect on cancer. It activates cancer cells mechanisms which allows them to apoptosis (a form of programmed cell death). I would therefore increase K2 MK7 to, say 400 ug, although your 100 ug is usually close to sufficient. 5000 IU of vitamin D3 is also where you get a level which is good for most people. So, I would say you are just doing what most people should do. Nothing excessive. You should also try to get enough of Magnesium, since that's a cofactor for vitamin D. Many are deficient in that.

It will take a computer to do medicine in the future as turning each gene sequence on and off via nutrition, will require a great amount of data and a huge decision tree to determine the changes to make. D3 + K2 + Saw Palmetto and Pumpkin Seed Oil = Happy Prostate. Vitamin K2 or MK7 is the most important because it directs the body to put calcium in the bones and teeth where it belongs and not into the prostate, arteries, joints, etc. where it causes problems. Prostate problems are cause by the calcification of the prostate. Many asians don't have prostate problems because they eat soybeans, high in K. People that eat greens, also high in K don't get prostate problems as much. A diet high in Milk, Cheese almost always have prostate troubles because of all the calcium deposited in their organs unless they take vitamin K with D.

Your body converts K1 to K2, so you dont need K2 at all. You can get insane amounts of K1 from parsley. Just eat it with some fat, as you absorb it much better with fat. And especially if you are thinking about prostate health, stay away from cheese. As it contains high amounts of estrogen, cortisol & IGF-1. The higher the fat content in dairy products, the higher are the hormone levels.

@Lee S Dryburgh The Vitamin K to K2 conversion is quite new discovery. We previously thought it was done by gut microbes. But now know we are able to synthesize it from K1. This is from wikipedia: "Conversion of vitamin K1 to vitamin K2 Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) - both forms of the vitamin contain a functional naphthoquinone ring and an aliphatic side chain. Phylloquinone has a phytyl side chain. The MK-4 form of vitamin K2 is produced by conversion of vitamin K1 in the testes, pancreas, and arterial walls.[32] While major questions still surround the biochemical pathway for this transformation, the conversion is not dependent on gut bacteria, as it occurs in germ-free rats[33][34] and in parenterally administered K1 in rats.[35][36] In fact, tissues that accumulate high amounts of MK-4 have a remarkable capacity to convert up to 90% of the available K1 into MK-4.[33][34] There is evidence that the conversion proceeds by removal of the phytyl tail of K1 to produce menadione as an intermediate, which is then condensed with an activated geranylgeranyl moiety (see also prenylation) to produce vitamin K2 in the MK-4 (menatetrenone) form.[37]" You can go and check the sources if you like.

As far as my understanding goes, any immediate metastasis is very similar in nature to the original cancer. So it will experience similar effects to similar stimuli. However, it can begin to take properties of its own, but it seems high amounts of Vitamin D are still warranted, even for other types of cancers. So it seems vit D should still have an effect. And from my understanding, Vitamin D is a precursor to 25D and 1,25D. Your body manages that conversion, you don't take 25D or 1,25D. From my understanding.

D3 optimum levels are between 30-100. You need to get a blood test to check you levels regularly. Mine was about 38. I read some research by Dr. Perlmutter who is a well written, famous neurologist and he says optimum levels are better at the higher end like 80-100. I increased my Vit.D3 to 5000 a day and in the next 6 months it only was at a 48. Checked again in 6 months and it went to 54. Get your blood tested regularly!

My take on this without getting too bogged down in detail is... When vitamin D is taken in it goes through different stages of processing by the body, some of it is freed up to be used to combat inflammation. Any vitamin D that’s stored for later use is not effective in tackling inflammation. A daily dose of vitamin D is better than having high levels of D trapped in fat cells. I could be off the mark, or still too vague. Also... there is a lot that everyone is still discovering. 🤔

But let me add, especially if you supplement with calcium, the latest research is that you also supplement with Vit K2 MK-7 and also Vit A. The Vit d3 grabs the calcium, but at this point it can deposit it in your veins and/or kidneys. You need the Vit K2 to be the traffic cop and direct where it goes, and if you are concerned about blood clotting etc, that is Vit K1. BUT do your own research...........

A high percentage of men end up with prostate cancer with old age. A lot of them die with the disease and they die from something else. This cancer is usually localized and so doesn't spread to vital organs. Maybe you could leave this cancer where is it and treat it with supplements like vitamin D3, maybe IP6 and apricot kernels.

Why don't you try going out in the Sun, when it's more than 45 degrees over the Horizon. Expose your skin, the more the better. With enough skin exposed, you'd make 20,000 IU in 15 minutes. This means, that you can use the Sun at mid day without any risk if you only spend 15 or 20 minutes. Remember, you're a product of your ancestors. You need the Sun + Fish, Meat and if you're not Lactose-intolerant, Milk. This will add B12 on top of other good stuff. Have you ever wondered if your autoimmune disease could be related to some deficiancy ? Considering our lifestyles compared to our ancestors it seems obvious, that we have all sorts of "new" diseases/issues/conditions which might be the consequences of our changed lifestyle. The primary reasons people cling to meat eating is taste, tradition, strength, or concern over health. Other than the traditional aspects we now know the other reasons are not legitimate when one learns the proper strategies. It is simply a matter of humans have gotten more knowledgeable than the past. But with populations so large it is essential that we must now take advantage of our knowledge including following a more vegan style diet. Not only will this help the world but it will help your health at the same time if you follow good vegan diet (mostly whole starchy staple foods plus vegetables and some fruit).

Why is UCTV doing so many videos on vitamin D? It seems like the vitamin D researchers are super enthusiastic. It seems like they have been pushing the idea that more is better. But we have seen for all the other supplements so far that that is not the case. We need to maintain some scepticism to their enthusiasm.

Be very skeptical of this suggestion that vitamin d is safe. I watched this and when the weather turned cool and I was covering up I started taking 2000 iu a day. when winter proper came I decided to take 4000iu and started getting hair loss, some difficulty swallowing and some constipation fairly quickly. get tested first and see how much you actually need.

Maybe you have something else going on. I've supplemented with similar levels of D3 during winter months and haven't noticed any adverse effects. Instead, I've noticed that 3000 mg vitamin C with 3000 IU of D3 at the first sign of a cold seems to stop the progress of the infection and full symptoms never develop. Inadequate exposure to sunlight and consequent low vitamin D production in the skin may the the real reason for the winter months being called the "cold and flu season".

If you take so much vit D and you don't take any vit K2 and magnesium and/or if you eat/take a lot of calcium you can have big problems due to very high calcium in the blood.. Hypercalcemia is the main concern when taking vit D...

My problem is that his info on how the (25OH D gets bound to the protein and becomes unusable due to the protein not allowing the D to penetrate into the cell membrane) works went over my head. He talked about the test and if it matters. Are we testing for the wrong thing? Testing for the "free" levels when in actuality THAT level is somewhat irrelevant. Are we testing for free 25OH levels simply because that's the only test we got? He wasn't clear for the average moron on the street. (me). When I was taking 4000 IU /day my levels were still deficient @ 25 ng/dl So my doc told me I needed more. So I switched up to 8000 IU /day (he doesn't know this) And now with the cytokine modulation he talked about (and other researchers on u tube) I'm also adding about 25 minutes of (florida) sun time (no sunblock) about once a week. I have no idea if I'm getting enough D. Even with the test now. I won't know.
