I think it's great that you're honoring your dad like this. God bless you man. Those 90s GM trucks were the best American trucks!

I just came across this video searching for restoration videos. I just got my brothers 1996 Z71. My brother passed away 14 years ago. My dad has had it using it as a camp truck. My dad doesn't hunt anymore because he is older and taking care of my mom who has alzheimer's. So he gave it to me to restore it like my brother Sam would have wanted it. You did a GREAT job on your dad's truck. I love it. This will be a very sentimental build just like I know yours were. I hopefully will hand it down to my grandkids one day but it will NEVER leave my family. Its all I have left of my brother. Thanks for sharing your build of your dads truck. Much love from South Louisiana.

@@Cory81o1 its going slow 🐌. Drove it to the store the other day and water pump went out. So going to put new water pump, thermostat, hoses and radiator on it. Plan on getting it running good. Then some little wiring issues, then interior then suspension, then body and paint. Its on the back burner for right now. My mom passed away on valentines day. So im kinda just going through the motion and processing stuff right now and being there for my Pops. My oldest daughter has been in Tulane hospital in New Orleans Louisiana since December 16th. Finally today went to long term physical therapy at Touro in New Orleans. Life has thrown us some curve balls recently, But I WILL have this truck rebuilt and looking good one day. Ill NEVER give up on it. Thanks for asking.

That’s a beautiful GMT 400 Silverado. My favorite body style. I am the original owner of a ‘97 2 door Tahoe LT/Z71 which I restored a few years ago when I managed an autobody shop. Mine has 108k miles and looks new. Your Dad would be proud and very happy to see the beautiful work you did on his truck.

The paint job on that truck is amazing. It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Low miles too. I love the Master Craft tires and the American Racing wheels. I agree about not putting the chrome fender pieces back on. You did your dad proud on this one. I hope we see more of this truck in the future. So clean and fresh!

Just source lower control arms now, before you need them. No new, NOS and salvage yards are scarce on LCA for the OBS Chev. The lower balljoint beats out the pressed in fitting. That’s where the wander, drift and steer slop comes from. Buddy has great painter!
