I hope I was a help.
Dam your like me on packaging, its nice to see a seller take the time and wrap and pack your package well.
Bore brushes used for gun cleaning come in many sizes and work good for cleaning holes. Also very fine wire wheels, made with about .005 wire, and ran at slower rpm, are really quite "soft" and do a nice job on threads, knurling, etc. Without doing damage like stiff wire sheels run at high speed.
That's a great job and a beautiful plane 👍👏👏👏
Great job Chester! That 45 looks beautiful!

Thank you. I love the old japanned ones although the newer are easier to adjust.
Chet this is amazing!

Thank you so much. I appreciate that greatly.
You might look into a tube brush for the holes, they come in either manual versions, or ones which can be chucked into a drill.
Very nice Mr Spier! How about a setup video to follow the cleanup- show us how you got those beautiful curls!

I was concerned that it might go so long that it would be boring and people might not watch it through. I like your idea though and will do it.
Thanks for the video

Thank you for watching.
Great info Chester! I’m putting my shop back together now that I’m retired and have among the projects a No. 45 restoration. I’m in 28806 - would enjoy meeting for coffee sometime.

Great job, the plane looks awesome!! Also a very useful and fun video to watch. What is the polishing rouge bars with wax that you mentioned and does it matter what type of buffing wheel (cloth (70Ply)/ Fine(90 Ply)/ Soft(100Ply)?) Thanks for the great video.

I prefer the 90 ply bu it really won’t make too much of a difference. The polish I use is available through jewelers supplies on line. They are different grits and used for different metals. I like the white because it is very fine and doesn’t leave a colored film after.
looks new😍

Thank you. A great place is online. Facebook has a great auction every weekend. Look under Can I have it
I feel like wooden plough planes are superior to any Stanley combination plane in looks and feel. Thoughts?
Hola es un gran equipo dónde consigo las cuchillas

Es mejor buscar en línea las subastas de cuchillas. También puedes buscarlos en eBay
Hi Chester... I know this video for a 45, but do you know of any resources on the 55?... I'm looking to date mine and there seems to be no type studies for this plane...
Interesting methods. Just wondering if there are soft wire wheels that could aid in the process and get into areas such as small pits in iron or threads. Brass wheels probably wouldn’t scar or damage iron or steel.

There are times when wheels can help but I would not use them in any areas that meet japanning.
don't you love old tools. Can you see power machines working the same after 100 years.?
