Restoring a 100 Year-Old Saddle Scabbard
Ойын-сауық
In this video, I take you through the process of restoring a saddle scabbard my cousin inherited recently, which originally belonged to his great-grandfather. It was a very exciting project to undertake.

Nice work, friend! Enjoyed watching...
Nice work dude
Picked up the same scabbard at an antique store that was in pretty rough shape about a week ago. This video has helped me through the proccess of restoring it and its almost looking good as new! These were made for the M1 Garand During WWII to put on US army jeeps and motorcycles. Once again, thank you so much!
Nice job! I have two of these, one of which was lengthened out to fit a M14. Also have an M1 Carbine scabbard that I paid dearly for.
That is a m1 garand scabbard . Mine have a 1937 and 1938 dates.

That's awesome! Thanks for the info!
Kind of looks like Eubanks scabbard.
This is a army scabbard from ww2for an m1 carbine the metal thing on side was for the lever on side to run action
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching and I think you gave the scabbard a great transformation. I did want to learn more. I wish you had said a few words about the last two products you were using and why. I got the first few steps: damp cloth, then saddle soap, then oil... what did you rub in after the oil? and what was the final coat you put on at the end? Thanks again!

The oil was Neatsfoot Oil, and the last stuff I put on was Skidmore's leather Cream - I think I did like 2 coats of that.
do you know who makes the scabbard? i have the exact same scabbard for my 30-30 i inherited as well but they didnt punch the leather hard enough so i cant read it
