Фильм және анимация
Today in Tring shoe repairs we've got a big rescue project. We have these ancient 20 year old nubuck desert boots in for repair, they need a restoration being new vibram soles, new padded collar like you get on most hiking boots, and some tlc refurbishment on the uppers. they're having a leather midsole upgrade too so they will be like new and very comfy once were done! We like a challenge so hope you enjoy the video! Dan.

None of the cobblers within 100 miles of me would ever be willing to do this level of work. You're keeping a very old trade healthy and alive and I respect that.
@AlexanderMason1

Technically, this isn’t part of the trade since those specific boots are cheap cemented boots that were never meant to be replaced. This also probably cost the client a lot more than the boots were originally worth.
@iHasCaek

@@AlexanderMason1 what are you actually talking about? the customer wants it done. the cobbler is willing to do it. the customer gave him money. the cobbler did the work. that boot is likely worth more than the money used to work on it to the customer.

Gotta say I'm pretty impressed by this restore, wasn't sure how it was gonna look after especially for 20 year old boots. On a side note, Dan, you were driving me crazy watching you pull apart that boot & tearing out and tossing the fibers next to your cup of coffee 😂😝

Really nice boots, but WOW he must really love them! That was like a total rebuild. I cannot imagine what he must have spent on these.

my man really just turned a cemented boot into a blake stitched/cemented boot that can be repaired again. What a madlad honestly. Great idea that one.
that Elbow Grease bit was brilliant
How have I watched so many of these, why is shoe repair so interesting.

Sitting in my 70's trailer in Hamlin Texas watching Whistling Dan!
Well I thought that you were a real craftsman before, and an artist with some of your previous vids, but this was real shoe-maker stuff right here. Cutting off and remaking the collar, removing and replacing the lining - soles almost appear easy compared to this. Top notch workmanship as usual - I am suitably impressed. As always, I love watching you work. Cheers Dan.
Some how I got to your hob nail military boot repair and found that extremely interesting so I subscribed and looked to see what other boots or shoes you are repairing. I was surprised to see vibram soled boots being repaired. A local cobbler (USA) said the vibram soles are not replaceable when I brought in some Swiss Army Combat boots with vibram soles. They were some of the best work boots I have ever owned. I then bought 5 more pair from a Swiss Army surplus store as spares when he told me they were unrepairable. Your craftsmanship and work ethic is a pleasure to watch.
It's cathartic and therapeutic to see restoration videos, be they shoes or furniture or even other random objects...
I would not have thought that I would spend a few hours watching a cobbler work, but this is so interesting to watch. It was not until a few weeks ago that I had a to go see a cobbler to replace the zipper on the right boot of two of my motorcycle boots. This is proper craftmanship.
You're so passionate about your trade...how wonderful! From Cambridge, Massachusetts USA. Keep it alive and do what feels right in your heart my friend....Blessings!

First time I've seen a hand-blake stitched shoe. Looks amazing!
My favorite cobbler videos are the ones where the shoe is not only repaired but upgraded. You certainly did that with the leather midsole. I'm also amazed by how hand intensive some tasks are. I thought I would never see anything more tedious than hand stitching a goodyear welt but a hand blake stitch. Awesome! Love your kidding around and cheerfulness.
Congratulations on coming out Dan I'm proud of you I'm so happy for you and Jimmy

Beautiful work Dan! Hi from Los Angeles California. Can't wait to watch new videos of you.
Just turned 20 year old boots into new ones! I must say that you do great work and have great skills! Good job!
These videos are awesome. They're so interesting to watch. What a skill and trade to feel good about. Props to you. I love the way your personality shines too. You're not a brand or character. Just a dude who enjoys the job and is good at it.
Not sure what algorithm made KZread suggest your video channel, but it is SOOO beyond mesmerizing and satisfying watching you work! What an awesome and necessary set of skills you have to share....and you have just the right amount of quirky humor to accompany it too!! Hahaha!
Your videos have cemented my belief that craftsman are true scholars and highly skilled workers. I have enjoyed the services of a skilled cobbler while living in New York City. Every week dropping off a pair of shoes or two for polish and repair. Your videos give true perspective on how much work and energy is applied to servicing shoes. I wish there were classes on the skills of a cobbler that I could take.
Love to watch you fix shoes it's Amazing. Much respect!

This is the 1st video of yours I've seen for a bit. I always enjoyed the piano music you played while gluing. I hope you bring it back soon. You have a nice Week.
You should do a before/after display of the shoes/boots you fix
i just cant seem to stop watching.
I once had a pair of New Rock boots, and the sole started coming off. I took them to a local cobbler to see if anything can be done about it and he looked very displeased with me being there asking that, but he said he can glue them and he did, it did not last very long though. I would have gladly paid the money to ship them to you, because your work ethic and skill seems far above average.
I love watching you fix shoes! It's so very satisfying watching something go from damaged to being fixed and useful again.
When i think of it there's no Cobblers as you describe in my local town for s long time....traditional Shoe Repairer like your self are rare to come by....great videos and good on ya all the way from Australia....did I mention we won the Ashes 2021/22....😁...love the videos ✔
