Restored to its former glory ! Chris Golds Boeing P-26 "Peashooter" | Flown by George of 4-Max.co.uk
First flight of George's latest Chris Golds restoration project. A model that had been sat in a container for over a decade. New electronics and power system from the www.4-max.co.uk online shop have transformed this into a smooth flier !
The Boeing P-26 "Peashooter" was the first American production all-metal fighter aircraft and the first pursuit monoplane to enter squadron service with the United States Army Air Corps. Designed and built by Boeing, the prototype first flew in 1932, and the type was still in use with the U.S. Army Air Corps as late as 1941 in the Philippines. There are two surviving Peashooters, but there are three reproductions on display with two more under construction.

Such lovely looking plane , I have a parkzone stinson that I’ve just repainted and given a tidy up just waiting for a good day to maiden it myself dom love the retro planes but then again if it’s got wings it’s cool with me lol , big salute 🫡 Gaza 🇬🇧
Skilled piloting, model flew as if relatively lightly wing loaded, proper CG setting. Not an easy to fly and land design, much like a Gee Bee racer.

Some model flying clubs like ours are noise sensitive. Cannot fly with engines over 82db so must be electric unfortunately.
Lovely plane and flying but oh for the sound of a radial engine!!!❤️
Interesting as the P26 was the first fighter given to my country as a US colony, with some Zero kills during ww2.
