    nice work. do you have a mower for it? i have a 1961 cub cadet and a 1948 farmall cub. both are very capable mowers. i also have a 124 that's apart. i sandblasted and repainted the frame eventually when money allows im going to finish it. my 1961 is in excellent original condition but really could be restored cosmetically. mechanically she's fit and trim. strong running K161 and a super solid 38" timed deck. the farmall has a C3 60" mower under it. i really do not understand why someone would want something new when you can have these machines. even restored it probably did not cost what a new machine costs. if you put a deck under it and took good care of it, it will last for decades before it needs anything major. nice 100

  • @IHcubcadet

    @IHcubcadet

    Thank you for the comment! The mower that was on the 100 was totally wasted and rotted out. I have a deck for my 1973 129 its a 42'' I think. In great shape. Have not used it yet. To use it I would have to swap engines out of the 129 because the crank will no longer except the pto clutch.The original pulleys set screws loosened up on the previous owner and destroyed the crank shaft key-way. I do have another K301 with a repaired crank that I could just swap in. So maybe at some point I will do that. Right now its mostly used for snow plowing.

    Hey, this is a fantastic job you have done on this tractor. I just picked up a model 100 Cub Cadet from my cousin that actually used to belong to my dad and I mowed with it when I was a teenager ( I am now 65 years old ). I am trying to figure out exactly what year it is. I heard there is a number on the gear reduction housing, I checked and the number I found was 385058R . Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
