Restore Engine Treatment

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Restore Engine Treatment: Saved two cars from having to be rebuilt. Over 100,000 miles and still going. Use this on a car with over 50,000 miles. I won't use this with synthetic oils. Worked well with 20w50 and VR1 Straight 50w oil. Stopped car from smoking, and will now add this for every oil change. Make sure to top off oils until the product has time to work. If your car is smoking and using 1 quart every 200-1,000 miles you will have to keep topping off the oil until the product works and you will notice the oil not being low after 250 miles. It should stop smoking after 500 miles or so. Good Luck!

i just used this a few days ago for my 1966 Cadillac Coupe Deville 429 BIg block ,no longer smokes and is idling much better. i did not do compression tests but i can tell just by ear that my cadi is running better. i dont have 5,000 to rebuild my motor at the moment but this will give me time to save $$$ to have the rebuild done in the future .Highly recommend it for older engines.

I agree with you about people destroying their cars beyond belief. its really sad how many people that dont do routine maintenance on their vehicle and when something major goes wrong, they go and buy another car!? The laziness and stupidity is disturbingly high. I'm so glad I learned to work on cars. It saved me and everyone I know money. This product is awesome by the way! Highly recommend to anyone if they have at least 30psi compression on compression tests.

I think a lot of "naysayers" don't actually follow the directions. That being said, obviously some additives ARE still pretty useless. It's good to see vids like this where someone has not only reviewed a product, but used it properly and actually knows what they're talking about. I have used this product myself on some beat up old Hondas and I DID notice the difference immediately. The improvement didn't last "forever" but certainly lasted past the next oil change. Thanks for posting!

I've used this in a 4.9 Ford and a 5.0 Ford both were well maintained and did not smoke or need oil added between oil changes even there was some loss of it both were over 300k. This stuff made both of them run a ton better, just over all made them both feel like a fresher newer engine, I forget the compression numbers as this was some years ago. However just yesterday I used it in my lawn tractor with a big Briggs vtwin. On cold starts it would give out a puff of blue smoke and after mowing a few acres it would need a dob of oil added, also had some vibration at full throttle. This product made my 25 year old Briggs become brand new over the course of a tank of fuel. Amazing product.

Thank you for posting this video, very informative. I have a 1996 Ford explorer that' been in the family for quite sometime 208,000 miles and has recently started Idling rough/shakes. There is low compression in the six cylinder (around 100). I'm gonna give this product a try tomorrow, swing by The auto parts store, Shake it up real good and pour it into the engine. I will re-post after I drive the 500 mile mark and let you know how it goes. I really hope this can due the trick 👍😎🚗

I believe they are playing it safe, on an engine with no problems, no compression loss, no rough idle or smoking, they don't want you to do anything radical causing any other problems. If the cylinders have huge loss of compression it's going to take a thicker product to keep from blowing it all out the exhaust. I used the thinner oil with Restore Engine Treatment with very little luck. Used it with thicker oil and was good to go in 200 miles. Good Luck.

I recently put this in a 2016 Kia Forte with 67,000 miles. It was burning about a quart every 300 miles and would billow smoke from the filler hole, when the engine was shut down hot. I did an engine flush with Liqui Moly, then changed to 5W 30 high mileage synthetic and a can of Restore. After about 350 miles, the change has been noticeable. I had to add less than a pint of oil. The next 350 miles, there was almost no oil loss.

I can't stress enough to people, if you don't get all the product out of the can it's not going to work. The best way to deal with this stuff is to pour it in a plastic bottle, then scoop the bottom of the can, and shake your new container until it's mixed well. I had friends forget this and I went to the trash grabbed there empty can of restore they used and showed them how much was still in the can. 1 inch of product at the bottom, they just poured the juice out. Thanks for watching

Good point PCwizard, It's always good to warm up a car before driving, allows oil to the top end of the motor. I see so often people start the car put it in gear and go, also more often with the younger drivers the constant free rev of the motor at 3000+ Rpm to hear the exhaust.

@faffaflunkie I agree with you to a point, but most people that may have a rare car, or one they can't afford to rebuild, this is the way to go... so many people I knew that used this stuff were ready to junk their cars when they saw the repair bills, from $500.00 to glue together or a total rebuild of $3,000 - $8,000 for new engine or rebuild. They added Restore Engine Treatment and still running after 3 years with no smoke. The trick is to add it every oil change.

I was just thinking, also check for vacuum leaks and your pcv valve, make sure the engine isn't sucking in oil at the intake. I use an oil catch can, keeps all that oil out of the intake. A friend of mine had trouble with the pcv system on a chevy, it sucked tons of oil into the intake on a LS1 & LS2 motor. Just a thought.

Of all the fords I've had, none of them ever burned oil, hard to imagine you having such a time with a ford engine. I bought this chevrolet out of desperation cuz there were no ford trucks for sale in my price range, it does serve the purpose and it multi tasks by killing mosquitos. I have used lucas in it to no avail, and now that i've put the restore in it, the smoke has gotten worse. The oil pressure is higher by just under 10 psi, it's always had good oil pressure, maybe the rings take longr

When I first purchased the truck the inlet port for the pcv was plugged up at the throttle body, I removed the throttle body and cleaned it out, breathes like a champ now. Where else would it be sucking oil from and where does the catch can come in to play? The oil returns were plugged in the top of the heads, I cleaned those out thinking that ought to do it but nope. Gotta be the rings

The scratches that are being talked about are the honing scratches, there gone after the cylinder and ring pass those horizontal scratches 8 billion times a second, creating a smooth broke in cylinder wall... It's for break in (the honing scratches). After the car is past break in and mileage adds on, we get contaminant scratches that are vertical in the cylinder wall. Those scratches won't hold oil, they create micro rivers of oil that will pass the rings with oil & gas, creating blow by.

I've been changing the oil with Mobil for the past 10 years (not Mobil 1). I'll add this additive to the next oil change and report back with my findings. I've always used Lucas with my Harleys but I'm really interested in seeing what this product will do.

@cobrachoppergirl ...the mixture sounds about right. Stay with your 20w-50..it's thicker oil than 10w-40. The higher the numbers the thicker the oil. Good luck.

A tip for everyone out their using OR not using restore. Let your vehicle engine warm up before you start driving a little even for a minute or two during the winter and summer. This will help you avoid adding more scratches in the cylinder walls and give you better engine performance when you drive. During the summer I let the vehicross warm up for a minute and during the winter I let the vehicross warm up for a minimum of 5 minutes. The main reasion I do this is expansion and contraction

@XX65XX you added the restore 1st before pouring the oil in right?

Yes...Restore Engine Treatment works on all cars over 50,000 miles. They have a can for 4,6,& 8 cylinder engines. If your not sure if you have a 4 or 8 cylinder engine ask the store like Auto zone or Pep Boy's.

My 94 5.0 has close to 160k miles and its still running strong but its old anyways, should i use this product ? And if i do how do i add it, do i add the 5 quarts my motor requiers or do i need to mix restore within the 5 quarts ?

Remember, blue smoke can be caused by a lot of things, bad rings, clogged PCV, worn rubber valve seals in the head of the engine. Restore Engine Treatment handles scratches in the cylinder sleeve and seals them. Rings that are shot? are shot. Nothing in a can can fix worn out parts. High Mileage Engine oils are great for Valve seals and seals on the engine, they soften them back up and allow them to seal once again.

If your refering to oil on the sparking end of the spark plug in the motor head...yes! Restore will stop the oil from getting on to that spark plug and seal the metal rings on your piston. If your talking about oil dripping from the spark plug area and there is a puddle I would suspect your valve cover is leaking onto the spark plug valley. If that's not the case, you may have a loose spark plug. But yes... this will stop your car from fouling plugs. Need to drive around 250-500 miles to work.

I've actually run Restore with Valvoline full synthetic oil in my saturn L200 with a new engine (when I got the new engine the compression sucked, I couldn't accelerate worth a damn and a compression test showed it was less than 80% of what it should be on most cylinders). I found out about restore and put it in with the valvoline and shes running so much better I've actually spun the tires in dry weather on a level road (not intentially but I don't regret it).

That's great.. Like I've said before, if the car is not too far gone Restore Engine Treatment will get you more years out of a worn engine. Should run better too with the compression back up, smoother idle.

Thanks guy, I'm going to give this a try. I have a Mazda MX-3 that's been sitting for a while. The car was burning oil a lot but I did not even know this. Eventually when I checked the oil a few weeks after an oil change I saw it was bone dry. Due to someones recommendation I put some 20-50 oil in there (dumb idea, didn't drain any left over oil first, just dumped it in), this is when the car started smoking and has been sitting ever since. The recommended oil is 5w - 30. Any thoughts?

Do you have to drive it 500 miles all in one trip? Or over a week of starting and stopping? How far did you drive it immediately after adding the additive?

You could've had a carboned ring pack. Before doing Restore treatment, I'm researching some technique/solvent to soak the ring pack after doing a preliminary compression and leak down test. Maybe I'll use diesel fuel to either cold soak or hot soak the ring pack by pouring hot diesel fuel in the plug hole, putting the compression tester back on and rotate the motor by hand to build compression to force the cleaner into the ring pack or use shop air. Also, there is GM Piston and Ring Cleaner.

I've got a 89 300zx with 128k on it. Doesn't smoke at all so could I use this to gain some hp back or could I do more harm then good?
