Restorative Aquaculture: Concepts & Practices in the U.S.

Ойын-сауық

Webinar date: March 21, 2022
The Nature Conservancy’s organizational goals are to protect ecosystems, provide food and water sustainably, and tackle climate change. In this webinar, Robert Jones, global lead for TNC's aquaculture program, describes how restorative aquaculture presents a unique opportunity to simultaneously contribute to all three objectives while providing jobs in coastal communities. TNC has prioritized leading science and on-the-ground projects with farmers and industry partners to accelerate restorative aquaculture in seven countries, including the United States, where TNC has been deeply involved with assisting oyster farmers through the COVID-19 crisis. This presentation reviews TNC’s current program activities on restorative aquaculture, including the recently released white paper, Global Principles of Restorative Aquaculture, which provides guidance for implementing restorative aquaculture on the ground.
