Awesome job restoring that Tonks Kenworth W900 truck. But, at 10:12 the exhaust stacks are installed upside down. Use your before and after comparisons at 13:09 and 13:11 as reference. Plus, I work for Kenworth Sales of Utah. 😁

UPDATED!!!! I know everyone makes mistakes.. (And NO ONE is perfect.) The upside down exhaust stacks was sort of a rookie move. No worries though. I used to have this model WAY WAY back when I was a kid. It ALSO used to have a rear gate/ramp for loading of cars. It sadly must have been lost to time. I'm impartial to the new color scheme you gave it. I guess it kinda gives it an updated look. = o)

Love this stuff! Makes me want to go out and pick up a blasting cabinet and a powder coating kit. But you have the stacks upside down.

Another Tonka rescued! Yep, rethink the stacks ;-) as stated earlier they are upside down, easy fix. Got a fire truck to restore and these vids help a lot!

Don't you know in the winter you run the exhaust into the cab to keep warm? I thought everbody knew that. My buddy Ronny used to tell me that all the time, and if he was still alive he'd say it was so.

This Tonka was made in Mexico. I remember there were differents levels of "quality". One of my cousins had one of these, which I remember because of those "boring" wheels and a smaller size. I had a Corvette carrier truck which had very nice white wheels on the tires, and I recall my cousin stating that "your Tonka seems way better than mine".

Would’ve been really cool if you painted the kenworth badge red on the grill, and added orange clearance lights above the cab. But cool restoration😁

Nice work. But the trucking company decals needed to be added and/or replaced on. Exhaust stacks? Uh oh Carbon monoxide yikes! Emissions malfunctions! 😱 A for effort...

No decals. Blurry glasses. Stacks upside down. Good job. But you need more efforts on details.

No concuerdo contigo la pintura del camion quedo mal y encima mala eleccion de colores negro? , el parabrisas quedo amarillo, lo unico que quedo bien restaurado son las llantas, pero lei comentarios que las llantas son nueva, en el video nose ve nada de como las restauraste, en fin si te gusto es cada punto de vista

Looks great! I had one of those when I was a kid. It came with a couple of late 70s camaros. The trailer had a ramp too but not one that swung down, one end had tabs that rested into slots on the trailer.

Muy bien la restauración el único detalle es que en el momento del ensamble de la tractomula,los exostos de la tractomula quedaron invertidos.

You almost had it!! Everyone else pointed it out already the exhaust is upside down also the plastic window would look alot better if you sprayed it with some clear and maybe some decals

I had a Dinky Car Transporter, the difference from this one was that on the Dinky Transporter the top deck dropped down at the rear end so that you could drive the cars up, then raise it to fill the lower deck, it also had an attached ramp which when raised formed the back of the transporter.

I imagine you can fix the exhausts easily but other than that this is a great looking restoration..

yeah... I was thinking that too... this " restoration " was bare bones and no finesse. It completely looks bland and unfinished.

Nice job but I would have cut a rectangle hole in the sleeper and added a bed and some closets .... Plus put a cool dash and a cb and a mic plus lights on top the cab and 2 horns.....

1:50 basic Tonka flatbed trailer. As a kid I had a yellow one with a helicopter, another was the blue car carrier, and another was yellow with a bulldozer. The diamond-body truck was standard as well.
