Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this rusted dagger at a flea market. I like the shape of the knife, and it's look like very old. Okay, let's start restoration.

As usual, I used rust remover liquid, the washed, oiled and dried. After via wire iron brush I cleaned the surface of the dagger. Also, I corrected the cutting edge of the knife and starting to sanding it. I used sandpapers from 40 to 400.
I chose walnut wood and brass rivets for the dagger handle. After the handle, I started to make a wood scabbard for the dagger. I used pine wood.
Well, I also spent time on leatherworking.
I also made a leather pendant for the dagger sheath and a special leather belt to wear it. I also tried to make an interesting and amazing test for you in nature. If you like it, please share this video and press like.

It looks to me like an old sword that broke and they made it into a dagger so it would not go to waste. Very nice restoration.

Хорошо подошёл к изготовлению рукояти. Однако ножны получились кустарно-бандитские. Оружие абрека: вИхватЫл - зарЭзал! Узкий поясок хорошо дополняет наряд. Я для работы с просечкой использую спил бревна, в торец. Так меньше изнашивается инструмент. Молодец! Хороший монтаж. Материал оживлённый возгласами и пританцовыванием, однозначно добавляет зрительских симпатий. Удачи.

Great video! I love when you show of the countryside there. Beautiful scenes! If the tea leaves are ever an annoyance to you. Pack a reusable coffee filter and pour the tea through it. They’re pretty cheap and resist hot temperatures

You should make something out of all your scraps
Very interesting video, as always. I forged a new knife and am now making my first wooden sheath (similar to what you make). To prevent the knife from falling out of the sheath, I had to make a recess and glue a piece of leather inside. I'm a little upset about this.
Хорошая работа, максимум что совет: ножны тоже кожей обтянуть. Рукоять другая древесина. Сразу бросается в глаза.

Уже намного лучше.))) Только попробуй в следующий раз сделать ножны потоньше. С каждой плоскости клинка по 2-2.5мм. Но дерево нужно брать твёрдых пород " берёза, дуб, ясень и т.д."

Вот читаю впервые, обычно же используют или сосну или липу для ножен. Дуб или ясень тяжелый

Да тяжёлая но очень прочная. Поэтому и толщина самих ножен уменьшается, и эстетически выглядят лучше, изящнее, тоньше. Я делал из березы и бука.толщина была вместе с металлическими подвесами тоньше чем гарда у ножа. Попробуйте сделать отдельно, не на камеру, в качестве тренировки))))

Fabulous restoration on this old rusty dagger. The handle and case for it really came out amazing. You always do such great work. Were you wearing a Airforce uniform? My son is serving in the US Airforce. Great scenery and beautiful place for a bbq. Thanks for sharing

идеальный тест: пройти n-ое количество километров, чтобы убедиться, что горизонтальный подвес - лажа. ручка цепляется за что не попадая, а сам кинжал упирается в спину, ни сесть,, ни лечь, ни сумку на плечо закинуть. даже если бы общая длина была бы 20 см, все было бы точно также
А тисочки то явно не с металлоприемки)))
Блин, у вас уже весна, зелень и цветение... а у нас ещё снег лежит =) Всё же интересно наблюдать за вашей работой. А ещё более любопытственно - откуда всё это"железо" вы берёте?

Приветствую, спасибо за внимание. Чаще всего материал для реставрации я нахожу на блошиных рынках, металлоприемных пунктах, так же меня просят друзья, а иногда это просто заказ.

@@ScrewsAndTools Спасибо за ответ. У нас на блошинке ничего подобного уже не найти, раньше - в 90-ые и нулевые - всякое интересное было. Сейчас только на металлоприёме, да и то, постараться очень надо.
