So, you know how to restore a reel but have no idea how to use it?

The rust on the spinning wheel is sticky, even the aluminum has steel rust? It's fake, the reel is old but artificially crafted to look like scrap.

I am a diehard fisherman... I've taken MANY rusty reels apart, some snagged and others found in the rocks or weeds. This thing looked like it was spray glued and rolled in rust, then got wet (a little) and rolled in sand. The inside had sand and dirt put in it that got wet. Even if there was grease (there wasn't, you would see some remnants of it! EDIT: This video hurts! He even reused the old line! Plus it's it's upside down.

Ini reel seperti ini saya masih ada sudah lama ga di pake, saya beli reel ini dari tahun 1986 saya sudah punya barangnya masih saya simpan persis seperti ini

After the flood when the water are not clear you can catch a fish with your hand only becouse the fish is blinded in the water that not clear they could not seen your hand that hold them

Mantab kawan jadi baru lagi realnya,tetapi agaj sedikit susah gulungnya ya boos.

Love it when people put old items back to use, but reusing the fishing line was too much. I wouldn’t call this so much a restoration as a clean and paint, but either way a good old reel is feeding someone again

Yes he painted it & it didn’t look like it needed that as the paint looked fine after removing the dirt. But how is this not a restoration he took everything apart cleaned and rebuilt it sounds like a restoration to me 🙃

It was a great restoration but the way you used it made me die inside, you need to have it on a casting rod like a baitcaster and reel forward, and to cast you need to push the button.

That was satisfying to see, but not the way you used. The real has to be up in the rod and you should reel in forward, the same way that a bait caster. Thank you for that video.

My uncle had a reel similar to that back in the 80s, but I think his was a Phantom 300. Daiwa made some good reels back then. Not a bad restoration. But, the way you have it set up on that rod has me scratching my head lol! That's a spincast reel, not an underspin reel.

It is a right handed reel and you supposed to put the reel upward when fish.

one waybearing wrong position...that why u spin the reel handle to reverse position..not to normal style..

Great job. When putting line on a reel as this, get a thick book. Place line in middle , back upwind line on reel. Will not be real loose on reel. Florida. USA 🐻👍
