Restoration Of The Old Double-Edged Rusty Axe
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Restoring Of The Double-Edged Ax That Had Lost Its Original Appearance.
Hello friends, what do we have here, a two-bladed ax, which seems to have not only made it beautiful, but also removed it from its original state and gave the ax an ugly appearance.
In this video, I plan to restore this ax and make it like it was on the first day, and I enjoy it a lot.
I also changed the handle of the ax and used beech wood to make it.
Thank you for accompanying me to the end of the video.
Thank you for sending me your comments.

It's a shame you didn't restore it as it was and turned it into just another double sided axe

This is NOT a restoration. The original character of the axe was sadly lost.
@HowToRestoration

@@dbennaphtali Dear friend, you didn't watch the movie carefully and you gave the wrong opinion, please watch the movie again. Actually, I returned the main character of the ax to it, the ax is like this that I made it. The ax that you saw first was cut and a A thick iron pipe was used as half of the ax handle. From now on please do your research before commenting on something and then do it thanks.
I'd have left the modified shape. Before restoration it was mysterious and unique. Now it's just another axe. That's just a personal preference. The restoration is amazing. Great care and skill lead to an impressive result.

Ah yes, I remember these types of Axes. These were primarily used in the early 1800's to kill vampires. Abraham Lincoln had one very similar to this one back in his vampire killing days.

Is that an axe or stone splitter?? Looks like it might have started as a double bit axe but made into a stone splitter. Great job making it a double bit axe again!! But know it doesn't have the hardness anymore with all that heat from wielding and grinding messing up the heat treatment. Great looking handle! Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up

Looks like someone took an old double bit axe and tried to make a hunting hatchet out of it, rather poorly. If they'd of ground the bits to the same length and not took a chunk out of the eye, it wouldn't have looked as bad, pre restoration. Although I like the idea of the extended collar for the haft. Makes it a lot harder to break if you overshoot what you're swinging at.
@HowToRestoration

Yes, you are right
@blatantmisconception

You're probably correct. Every extra ounce in your kit feels like an extra pound on the trail. I have a broad hatchet I did something similar to. Added a bastard sized handle to it. I plan to add a handle to it that is in between a hatchet and an axe handle in size. About as elegant looking, but it's way easier to pack and use. No function lost. Custom or modified tools are fun to look over even if they're done without regard to aesthetics. I like the puzzle they present when you try to figure out the why and how of it.

The original shape of that ax is what you see right now, and I made it, and this ax was destroyed before and the places that were filled were cut with grinding stones, and this is not its original shape, its original shape is that What I made is what you see.
Brother if you welding the place you heat it and knock it will be better because it will more fix will no mark next time you try it.

I wonder why anyone would take the time and effort to cut away those chunks of metal and also weld that pipe to insert the handle. Maybe to make the axe lighter? Or was it a different type one?

5 , setzen.
