Restoration Of A Ruined Legend - Honda VFR 400 NC30 - Part 2
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This time on RRC Restoration I'm going to be restoring all of the bare alloy parts of the VFR400 frame that have been ruined by previous owners with years of polishing . This episode has taken way longer than planned to complete as I've been plagued with issues so I apologize in advance for the wait and that its not as detailed as I would have hoped but onward and upwards. Enjoy.

Sir; i was wondering if you have used a brushed finish with Scotchbrite with a bit of running water...it seems to give a faster and 'cleaner' brushed finish... if you've tried it, and decided not to use this method, i would be interested in any comments on this. Lovely work, might be some of your expertise transferred to our TL-250B & CX-650E!

Oh no, the bearings are in the wrong place, I had to rewind it to catch it when you put the axle back in. I'm glad to have you back with us, we missed you. Still, I believe that quality trumps quantity. You, sir, have that in spades. It's great seeing you doing what you do best, and we’re all here to enjoy it. @@st3althyone you're eagled eye! Here 4:54 you can clearly see the orientation where the bearings are. You know, I really don't think you have the proper idea on your tool storage. All the tools should be tossed about on the floor, the workbenches, the shelf spaces, etc. At least, thats what all the other repair shops, and restore shops on youtube do! Regards from Canada 🇨🇦 😂
As far as "it's not as detailed as I would have hoped" I think you nail the balance in your videos where there's sufficient detail yet the pace of the restoration that ends up in the edit is on point. Anyways, good stuff and excellent results as always!

Well that answered my question. Glad you cleared over the swingarm and frame. Not sure why i thought you wouldn't haha. I can't wait to see this finished. What a gorgeous bike for its age.
Just found your channel. A proper job in a proper work shop!
I failed at installing bearings in a similar manner once; some old oil-cooled Suzuki GSX-R engines have the clutch rod run through the middle of one of the transmission shafts, and the bearings aren't the same from one side to the other. I found this out the hard way, when I put the entire bike back together only to realize I had to pull the engine and split the case again!
School boy error on the bearings, we've all been there done that... Also I noticed you do the same as me with the hole in the grease tin lid for the brush!! Brilliant stuff, keep it up!
This is superb, brilliant work on an iconic bike
Doing this part of the build brings back memories lol. Your videos are very helpful in my confirming where parts go as well as finishing techniques.
Great to see you back pal. These restorations certainly take there time to do properly.
Such excellent engineering deserves the excellence you bring to a restoration!
I used to race one of these in the Superbike Lite series. Was an amazing handling bike and could often ride around the outside of 916's on practice days. You'd certainly get the comments in the pits after that! Great restoration!
I need new part of this restoration. I've got VFR 800 VTEC at home and would like to do small restoration too. I really admire your work! It's inspiring!!
