Restoration Hardware Dupe | DIY High End RH Décor | Create a Stone Finish Using Drywall Compound
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Restoration Hardware has stunning decor...at prices that can stun you! So why not dupe them for a fraction of the cost? And all of the satisfaction of a DIY project!
The RH Indonesian Currency Disk is a gorgeous large piece and it's simple design is perfect for a dupe project. In this video I start with foam board from the Dollar Tree, add a some drywall mud, paint and a whole lot of time and I end up with a large, inexpensive, high end dup.
Décor trends change all the time. How we use our spaces changes too. And I agree, there are items that should be splurged on to make sure you get quality and longevity. This is why it's such a great idea to save on décor pieces with dupes and DIYs. Save money in one area to spend it somewhere else.
This décor piece is part of my dining room project. I know in the future, I'm completely redecorating the dining room; new furniture, wall trim, new art, the works. But for now, I want it to at least look presentable. So instead of splurging, I'm saving, duping and DIYing! Remember to subscribe and ring the notification bell to see all the high end low budget dining room decorating ideas!

What a refreshing DIY vlog with a REAL person and a bonus sense of humour. And real DIY, including a redo and mistakes. You go, girl. I think after Covid, most of us are over insincere, self-promotional DIY vlogs. Loved this, keep going please, I've subscribed and are following. Lots of love from sunny South Africa (Cape Town).

I love this and will probably be making one of my own. Your instructions were fun and interesting. Sometimes I have to click out of someone’s demo because their instructions are so very tedious to listen to. And they don’t shut the camera off while the repetitive parts are being done. You did, and that kept me interested and your humor kept me engaged. I’ve subscribed and now I am going to look for that wood aging tutorial that you mentioned.

Peggy, thank you so much for the awesome comment! I really appreciate the feedback and I do take suggestions seriously. And have fun making your own version of this!
I thank you for soooo many reasons. Firstly, your instructions were very easy to follow and no unnecessary chit-chat, nor annoying noisy music. You took the time to show us how you got the disc to be dimensional. You have a pleasant speaking voice, which I appreciate as I’m a senior and many of the young girls doing tutorials have voices that I find difficult to hear. And lastly, just an all around great tutorial! I do think you should have started with a darker colour first as the final look would have looked more textured. Thank you so much for sharing. I would be curious to know approximately how many hours it took to complete. Well worth the time for sure! 👏👏👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thank you for leaving me such an encouraging comment! I love getting tips on how to keep my videos engaging. I spent over a week on this disc, most of it because I had to keep leaving the paint to dry...and because I was still working out on what worked best. If I was to do re-make it, I'd say 3-4 days, again due to the drying time. I still have it out in my dining room!

It was a scrap piece of wood that was left outside in the weather, rain, snow, sun... Then I cut off the 'ugly' end and sanded it smooth. So really, just find the ugliest, damaged piece of wood, sand it and add a little stain! It was a piece of wood that would normally get thrown out.

Great job and it looks really good and well done for getting it done for less than $15. But obviously the cost does not include labour or artistic license. It counts purely material costs. When you buy it from the artist you are paying for the idea and the hours of work which seems fair as well. Not criticism, just reality.

Ur ideas are great and u have the potential of growing your channel to the next level...however music only takes away the good experience in watching the video... For me, content is the main focus when making a video and not the music...bad content will not be fixed by having music.
