Why most of the restoration videos y have watched the person doing it doesn’t explain what their doing? That leave us with no experience and wanting to learn confused. Or is it that this videos are meant for those with more experience or just for entertaining? So many questions.

I also do them like this since a "picture is worth a thousand words". @@dabrestauracion7404 thank you for replying, your explanation makes sense, I am currently watching another of your videos. When installing the rear speed changer, you put something in the hole where you screw it on, with a grease gun, so I am assuming is grease, or is it locktite? Yesterday I put mine on my bicycle, but I didn’t put anything before I screwed back on. What should I use?

What do you use for the white "detailing" of the Colnago club and writing on the chainstay?

To me, the PR82 color scheme IS Colnago! The first Colnago I ever saw was a Master in PR82 in Memphis, Tennessee in 1985, at a bike shop called Dream Machines. I had no money and was totally smitten by it and have thought of it ever since. Now you make me want to have my Colnago Conic refinished this way! This is absolutely gorgeous. You did a stupendous job.

As someone who is currently refinishing a steel road bike, I LOVE this series. There are plenty of "how to paint your bike" videos, but most of them look awful when they're done.

Quería que vierais que no están tan complicado aun que hay que utilizar un disolvente desengrasante, no un disolvente de limpieza o si no la lías. Un saludo y gracias por tu comentario ; )

This was absolutely a pleasure to watch, stunning frame. I used to race in the mid eighties & always loved steel colnago’s & still do, I’m not really a fan of modern day carbon frames and the compact style frames which I think look ugly and can cost you the price of a small bungalow ! I love your work and eager to see this frame built up. I would get a bit nervous if I had to apply the transfers to the frame but no trouble here, thanks for making this video, all the best.

Great work. My only issue is the fact that after putting so much effort into the cleaning, the preparation, the sanding, polishing, doing the paint job the right way, applying a base before the final colour, getting a super nice metalic red (which looks very exotic for a bike), giving it a proper clear coat, hand painting all the details in white and red... you put back the ugly white stickers? I mean, i get the fact that it is a very old bike and the goal is to restore it... but it went from showroom level art to museum level restoration. I rather have the showroom bike than the museum one (dont get me wrong, it looks absolutely gorgeous, but it looked better in my eyes before the stickers went back)

Hi, friend!! You can use any acrylic paint. Even a black spray, you move it and put it in a plastic cup and then touch up with the brush. That will be enough if you don't want to spend a lot of money ; )

Beautiful work ! The red color is really fantastic. And the manual paint on small details is very clean. The bike will be ready for Chrismas ? For sure it could be a nice gift for someone !

This is a great job in painting ~ any short cuts to this and a lesser job is achieved ~ I know powder coats are durable but not always practical in these times and some silver solder frames maybe a problem ??👍👍👍

Hi friend !!! If I tell you the truth, I have never used baked powder paint, as you say, I know they are more durable. But I've always seen them on older bikes or low-end touring bikes. I don't know if there will be a problem with silver solder. I'm sorry I can't help you. Regards my friend ; )

Hi friend!!! Well, I have not varnished them, because with the passage of time the varnish turns yellow and I also prefer to change the adhesives to have to paint again. Buenisimo, como los previos. Es alguna pintura especial la que se utiliza en las letras blancas COLNAGO y detalles como el trebol??? me gustaria hacer algo similar a una pinarello pista de los 80s que acabo de pintar, solo me faltan esos detalles

Hola amigo!!! No es pintura acrílica normal, usa un disolvente desengrasante(que es menos agresivo), no disolvente normal o te llevaras la pintura del cuadro. Un saludo ; )

Well, I chose this color because in the color chart, where I buy the painting, they were all very garnets, but I found this one and I looked at the saronni of the Colnago museum and this was the one that seemed the most correct. I can tell you that it is a color for smart cars. A greeting ; )

Impressive Work ! thanks for sharing this with us. 2 questions: Is possible to clear coat over the decals to protect them? What kind of scuff pad do you use for sanding the primer? thank you!

Hi friend!!! If possible, apply a coat of varnish to the adhesives. I didn't do it because I painted the bike before the stickers arrived. Sometimes I'm desperate lol To sand the sandpaper primer p400 and p500. A greeting I hope it is worth you ; )

Hi friend!!! Well, I have not varnished them, because with the passage of time the varnish turns yellow and I also prefer to change the adhesives to have to paint again. Originally, the stickers in Colnago were not varnished. Greetings friend and thank you for your comment ; )

Beautiful work! This is the first video (that I found) that shows painting the indented pantographs and your technique worked perfectly. Some painters recommend that the decals should be applied before the varnish. Was this something that you considered?

Great work,, why do you use cans to do the primer,, but a spray gun for the top coat ?

Hi friend!!! Well, I use the cans when the frame is in good condition and it doesn't have much damage, since the can makes it easier for me to sand, more than just spray, which is more difficult to sand. greetings friend, I hope I have clarified your doubt ; )
