Restoration - Antique Cannon
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Welcome to today's renovation of an old cannon, which was made by my friend's father more than 60 years ago. As it served as a decoration in the garden, where it had been raining on the cannon for many years, it fell into disrepair.
This video is only a restoration of a historical object and does not in any way endorse the weapons, their use or possession.
If you have any information, you can share it with others on my Facebook page:

If you have any questions about the process, use machines or other things, ask me in the comments. I try to answer everyone and as soon as possible.
I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my language.
I'm uploading videos about restoring mechanical things. I'm uploading videos about the restoration of old wooden things. I fix things as best I can. I am self-taught. Therefore, if some procedures are wrong, forgive me. Thank you.
If you like this renewal, share and send :)

Excellent work. I have been a hobby woodworker for many years and had an opportunity to work several months for a friend who builds and refurbishes horse-drawn vehicles including wagons, carriages, sleighs and buggies, We rebuilt a pair of much larger cannon wheels from a US Civil War battle field. "Sweating" the iron tires on the wheels was quite an experience as each wheel weighed about 200 lb. Thanks for sharing your work.

Greetings from Petersburg! Wow! Radek, you have no idea how useful a thing you now have. First, she is beautiful. Secondly: you can’t even imagine what discounts open in stores when you take such a thing with you. And to make chops, she generally has no price. You load 0.5 kg.tenderloin, one shot and that's it. The chop is ready. What next? Veronica knows what to do next.

Many years ago a friend and I built a cannon that was a little bit bigger than this one. We had a lot of fun making it and used the barrel off an old anti-aircraft gun that was being scrapped off a ship.
A pile of rusty iron and rotted wood transformed into an expertly restored relic. Thank you for another great restoration.

My father made a cannon, actually two; he was a tool and die maker. One was a mini cannon (that shot!) and I still have that. The other was a bigger cannon. He and my grandfather mounted it to a structure like the one in the video. After much alcohol later, they decided to test it. Safety in mind, they shot it towards a hill with a wooded area (no inhabitants but for birds and deer). They had a lot of fun shooting the cannon. Later, my grandmother found what they shot: her newly painted picnic table. Let's just say, both my grandfather and father got a chewing out.

Another great job! I'm always amazed by the amount of original material you keep. I remember you grafting on new wood to an original part before. I wouldn't even think of doing that - I would just make a whole new part - but then I'm not as talented as you are. Again, great video and thanks for showing that it still works.
