Best moped ever , riding to work for four years never let me down!

And then tomos made automatic. That thing let you down only when you need it.
Weldone! If you can use the quality paint ( 2K-PU Clear Gloss) for the last layer or as a top coat, that will be better. Use aerosol paint (1K system), the durability is shorter than 2K PU. 👏👏
Why didn't you pull the dents out instead of filler ? Quality work and finish, thanks for sharing 👍🇬🇧

Também pensei nisso já que desmontou tudo.
Tomos was my first motorcycle that I learned to ride. The result of this restaurant is excellent. I like the two color combination.
I love that moped and im from slovenia where these were made and here is a lot of them one day i wish i get that model i just love tomos and i like to se people put eford in them to restore them in their original shape.
This motorbike is really unique in its body shape. If a Tomos T12 like this was sold now, the price would definitely surprise you. Because it's very rare to have a motorbike like this.
Not a big fan of that body mod but overall pretty good job. Well done
Pozdrav!!!
A little grease on the axles wouldn't have hurt. Congratulations for the video.
Great restoration, I love that green. But I feel like overall a 32 minute video does not do this restoration justice. This is such a complex project that I wish the video was longer to show more detail of the work that went into it ❤ God bless

Badass video and songs and restoration! I grew up in the 80's with mopeds...I remember the old school 70's mopeds...not sure about the 60's!
Bravo lave, dobra restauracija!
You are brave and patient. I'd look at that moped and say it's someone else's nightmare.

I had a Tomos 4L for 8 years and yearly rode some average of 15000 km on it. Simple engine, simple gearbox, easy to repair. Way better than Puch.

I agree. Puch mopeds aren't bad either tbh! I had Tomos T14M which never gave me any issues. Later went on scooters and currently owning a Vespa but I'm looking to buy once again a Tomos.

@@dejandoles2683 Puch had some design fails (weak swingarm; weak clutch pull bearring; loose needle bearrings in the gearbox; weak bike stand...) wich were all improved by Tomos in their 4L type. (I'm not talking about the 2L and 3L models, these were even worse than Puch!)
@dejandoles2683
@@bobdevries4028 I needed to look to which models you are reffering since in Slovenia Tomos never sold mopeds with names 2L, 3L and 4L. 4L correspond to our APN4. Did Tomos sell in Netherland also stronger models like T14, T15, BT50 or just automatics, targas, apn's? On the end, up from late sixties I agree Tomos had better quality than Puch.
@bobdevries4028
@@dejandoles2683 As far as I know not. They did sell some Puch Maxi like models under the name of A2 automatic (centrifugal clutch) and A3 (automatic gear shift, 2 gear) By the way, I also had a SP5, a 5-gear with a very heavy front fork; front wheel with an enormous drum brake and an 11 litre fuel tank. The 2L and 3L models were exact copies of Puch's MV50 2 and 3 gears foot shifted.
What happened to the plate that sat under and in front of the engine?

I've got mixed emotions about it .For one the restauration is beautiful and it is nice to see the thing back on the road, but in that first few camera movements with the melancholic music, it was stunningly beautiful in its unrestored state - a piece of art done by time :)

svaka cast..majstore.prva liga.to je sad vredno
I would have gotten to minute 6:55, gotten overwhelmed and moved on to another project. That bike would be dismantled in my garage forever lol
Ja sam svoj malo modifikovo. Metio sam cilinder i klip od stare Lame, karburator od V14, skinio stitnike za noge, dodao nozni mjenjac i noznu kocnicu, prednji lancanik metio sa jednim zubom vise. Koliko se sjecam to je bilo sve. To sam radio dok sam isao u srednju skolu a sada imam 69 godina. Pozdrav svima i sretno.

Beautiful restoration, it looks absolutely stunning! 😍😍
When i was 10 years old ( in1970) i got the exact same moped from my father because i couldn't keep my hands off my fathers dkw moped and drive it on occasion to elementary scool. Needless to say it was a rustbucket and could only manage max 30km/h on full song. But after some cleaning and adjusting this 2 speed would easely run as fast as 70km/h. Haha put several kreidlers , hondas and zundapps to shame. Great video. Mine was olive green with off white and was called RAP PUCH.
She was pretty rough to start with. Good job of restoration 👍 that is the first time I've ever seen that brand.

Good renovation, congratulations 👌. One should be optimistic about these renovations, because not all replacements could be shown, but they did occur. Let us be of good cheer. And the moped is very fanny 😀.
Nice job! Beautiful bike. My father owned one T12 in the late 60's. In the early 70's when he bought his first Zastava 1300 car he needed to sell it. Later he said it was one of his biggest mistakes in his life :). I also owned and tuned newer Tomos bikes in the late 90's and early 2000's. I learned the basics of mechanics on them and I still use that knowledge in the everyday life. Good luck for your future projects!
Amazing to find a complete bike like this, great job too BTW.

Such a tiny cilinder 49.9 cc and Bing carb, adjustable sprinkler possible ,drive sprocket 11 teeth ,.carburator is 12 mm With a right revving and shifting gears it can be made to go 50 km an hour With flattened cilinderhead ,filed flushates, shortened piston, adjustinle sprinkler on a 15 mm Bing carb and a 15 teeth drive sprocket and expansion exhaust my Tomos went 70 km.an hour ,with wind in back almost 80 km! Fuel consumption is 1 liter gasoline with one twenty fifth Castrol oil added(Tomos is a two stroke),tank holds 5.5 liter ,carter oil W25 ,I reassembled mine in poor lightning, had to prime and paint my chopper Tomos ,5 years bliss
Very nice resto. Looked like that paint stripper was pretty weak stuff.
A i ovako gledano nema zamerki 👍

Na ovo sam čekao. Hvala
Bravo para restaurar felicitaciones
I think I would of left the orginal patina and put matte clear over it. It would of been a bigger head turner with that look in my opinion with the engine overhauled and running down the road. People look all over the place for a patina paint job and it can only be accomplished over time or a talented artist like yourself. It's still a nice piece but it could of been a really cool ride
Good work, personally I would have split the tank then popped the dents out, weld it back together then used filler to smooth...still good job
DAMNNNNN! That's an amazing restoration!
I never saw a single bearing being changed , nor piston rings changed or any checks on wear and tear. Putting back the two old sprockets was also a bad idea so I presume the old stretched drive chain was re-used as well. It was hardly a restoration because the bike wasn’t returned to original condition . the original machine wouldn’t have had a kick start nor foot pegs ... it was designed originally for pedals.

BRAVO ! 😊

literally the only restoration ive seen where someone used the paint can properly
Honestly, it's a very satisfying video to watch simply because of how the bike looked to begin with and how it Chavez towards the end. I found a few issues though. Number one, the only work being done on this overall vehicle is tinkering and painting. What about the engines and wheels and such. Second, why do you hide the bands of the products you use. People are not going to steal your product ideas . BT showing the products you use, you can get two benefits. The brand will reach out to you fur endorsements meaning you make money and your viewers will get a basic idea of what can be done if they're in a similar situation. Third, while the sounds of your work are great, a bit of music wouldn't hurt. Pse ignore typos because I am typing ak this on a phone.
nice job👍👍

That was a pretty deep looking dent to fill with filler. It could shrink or crack over time.
