i think the adornments or beauty that verse 31 of surah an Nur is referring to is not jewellery or makeup but the woman's body parts ( the real adornments given to a woman by Allah) Allah is guiding her to conceal some beauty (like her bosoms) with a dupatta and there is no problem if other adornments like hands face or feet which normally appears are exposed. Also , not to stomp her feet as stomping can bring unneccesary attention to hidden adornments (bosoms or hips ). And old women can leave the dupatta as this adornment ( chest ) is not that attractive as in young women. please correct me wherever i am wrong.

Please watch previous episodes for the answer to your question. It has been discussed in detail. Also, what u think is not deen. It’s what Allah says in the Quran. If it were left to what we think, then the situation arises that we have today where everyone thinks that deen is what they think and understand. For the body parts u mentioned, these fall under hifz-e-furooj as described in previous 2 episodes and as discussed in the Qura’n. Hope that helps.

Once again a great episode- it does seem to me that a lot of episodes are dedicated to the Purdah issue- so much so that it has become confusing rather than explanatory. Please concise and summarise these so there is a clear and concise message that can be remembered at the end of every episode. There was a loss of coherence in these episodes.

There are many hadith that says no sin in seeing a women if a men want to marry her. This mean seeing without marrying purposes is a sin clarify this

Rasmi Musafa Vs society which does not acknowledge adultery etc. Sade zara is relative term depends where you live. Sade zare concept can be differently looked by a Muslim living at Miami beach than in a small town of punjab.

جب اختلاط مرد و زن ' اپنے قریبی عزیز مرد ' عورت کا تخلیہ مین بیٹھنا اور غیر محرم عورت کو ٹکٹکی باندھ کے دیکھنا منع ھوا تو اس کے جسم کے کسی بھی حصے کو مس کرنا کیسے جائز ھو جائے گا ؟ قرآن مین expressly اس بارے مین کوئ احکام نہ بھی ھوں تو اجنبی مردو زن کے اختلاط ' غص بصر اور بد نگاہی کے بارے مین احکام کی روشنی مین impliedly یہی اخز ھو گا کہ غیر محرم عورتوں کے ھاتھون اور جسم کے کسی بھی دوسرے حصے کو نہ چھوا جائے۔ ھاتھ بھی نہ ملایا جائے۔۔

Aap na karain. But don’t make it part of deen when Allah did not. Allah says things clearly and Ustaad described it in detail when he read ayah by ayah.

Can you kindly ask this question from Ghamidi sahb: We have heard this Hadith a lot from our childhood that agr kisi ko bura kaam krtay daikho tau usay hath say roko, agr nahi tau mun say roko, agr wo b nahi tau dil.me bura bhala kaho aur yay sab say kamzor iman ki nishani hai. So if a person is living in a country where it is legal to drink or public nudity is legal etc. In our view those things are wrong. But in their view it's normal. So if we are not stopping them by hand does that mean we have weak iman?

As regards question of Samad Salim, it is applicable for ppl under jurisdiction, father/in family will stop their children from doing wrong,it has to be offering one's examples n taken care from from beginning Parents will stop illegal practices with stern hand n later with their examples n politely when children r grown ups Later out of family, local admini will be responsible

Bro in those countries it is legal to do these things for eg in west , so if you try to stop them with hands , it would be considered assault and you would go to jail. What you can do is talk with them and calmly convey your message if he/she is your friend.

But why to cover chest necklace with dupata?you can just put it inside the shirt or blouse.it seems to me that dupata was ordered to cover cleavage make more sense and not to cover jewleries .anyway wimen were allowed to wear them on hands face.I am confused by sir JG reasoning

Great ever sir ghamidi masha Allah but ek baat ka apna point of view me ye dena chahon gi kay hesa k sir ghanidi nay kaha hai west me zina ki ijazat hai to woh kisi ki taraf dekhtay nahi or pakistan walah isi liay dekhtay hen, to me UK me rehti hun or pakistan me bhi 30 sal reh chuki hun, wajah ye nahi, pakistan me aaj jitna zina hot hai woh kisi say pechay nahi, faraq sirf police kay nizaam ka hai, yahan police ki luthh hai to men aurtoon ko ya auratein nardoon ko harasan nahi kerti, aap america ki misal le len jahan police system collapse hai or world crime watch k mutabiq america me say say ziada rape cases hen as a ratio. Aaj pakistan me police ka system kar amad hota to serkoon per khwateen kay sath khulay aam badtameezian na hoti or woh bhi izzat say moashray ka hissa bun sakti, pakistan kum o besh india ka hi mahol rakhta hai.

Agar Rasool Allah nay tohmat say bachnay kay lyay musafiha chora tha to auraton ki mojoodgi ko bhi chorna chahiyay tha. Na to hazoor nay kabhi kisi aurat ko elahdagi mai milnay say mana kya na kisi aur ko kaha kay un ki taraf say munadi kar day lehaza yeh daleel hi baykaar hai. Sab say barh kar ap kon hotay hai Rasoool Allah kay moun may apna luqma daalnay walay kay unhon nay aisa tohmat say bachnay kay lyay kya. Ap kay pass koi daleel hai is baat ki. Apni marzi ki taweel hi karni hai to parda aur hijab sab say Ahsan taweelat hain. Jab aurat ko zeenat chupanay ka hukam hai to seedha hath mai hath dainay kay baad kya rah jata hai us nay to lams bhi hasil kar lya.

سوال پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ اسکا فیصلہ کون کرے گا کے اوڑھنی کا حکم صرف زینت چھپانے کے لئیے دیا جا رھا ہے۔ حکم سے پہلے شرمگا ہوں کی حفاظت کا بھی حکم ہے۔ تو ہم یہ نتیجہ اخذ کیوں نہیں کر سکتے کے یہ حکم آیت کی بیان کردہ پچھلے سب احکامات پہ لاگو ہوتا ہے۔ اور جب بوڑھی عورتوں کا ذکر ہے تو انہیں کہا گیا ہے کے اگر آپ زینت دکھائیں گی تو آپ اوڑھنی نہیں اتار سکتیں۔ اب اس آیت سے بھی استدلال نکلتا ہے کہ اوڑھنی کا حکم تو سب کو ہے لیکن بوڑھی خواتین اس سے مستثنی ہیں لیکن اگر وہ زینت کرتی ہیں تو پھر نہیں۔ تو پھر غامدی صاحب کا پچھلا استدلال غلط ہو جاتا ہے جس میں وہ یہ کہ رہے کہ نوجوان خواتین بھی اگر زینت نہ کریں تو وہ اوڑھنی اتار سکتی ہیں۔ کیونکہ زینت کے بغیر اوڑھنی اتارنے کا استثناء صرف بوڑھی خواتین کو ملا ہے۔ اگر یہ بات موضوع بحث نہ ہو تی تو بوڑھی عورتوں کا ذکر نہ آتا۔ اس لئیے مجھے لگتا کہ یہاں غامدی صاحب کا استدلال ایک عقلی غلطی ہے۔

اگر نبی کریم نے عورتوں سے ھاتھ نہیں ملایا۔ ان سے بیعت لیتے ھوئے بھی نہیں ' تو کیا اس سے یہ اخذ کرنا درست نہیں ھو گا کہ مرد عورتوں سے ھاتھ نہ ملائیں ۔ ۔ اس کے برعکس کیسے اخز کر لیا گیا ؟

Assalamu aleikum janab! One query! During your discussion in part 11 you mentioned differences between Abdullah ibn Masud (ra) and Ibn Abbas (ra) in interpretation of a certain verse or part of it! Why should there be? They were sahabi e Rasool (swas)! Why couldn't they get things clarified from him (swas)? Please do answer! JazakAllah!

The key thing to note here is that even the greatest scholars of history can have problems about certain topics. It was narrated that once Bibi Aisha received a statement of hazrat Umar(R.A) that If a man cries at someone's grave then his relatives will suffer in hellfire. Bibi Aisha replied " Umar doesn't misguide, but in this matter he has made a mistake. Because The Quran says' And won't punish you for a deed you haven't done" So even sahabi can make mistakes; remember that they are humans like us.

زنا بالرزا میں پہلی ہداہت پردہ ڈالنا اور نصیحت سے باز کرانا ہے. اگر ریاست کے علم میں آجائے تو وہ محض مقدمہ درج کرنے کے لئے چار گواہوں کی موجودگی کی پابند ہے. پھر مقدمہ چلے گا. ثابت نہ ہوا تو قذف کی سزا ملے گی. یہ سب تو سزا نہ دینے کے مترادف ہے نہ کہ دینے کے. پھر چار گواہوں کی موجودگی میں تو یہ کام کم ہی ہوتا ہے. جزاک اللہ

G nhe janab. Shadi ka faisla maa baap pr chhorna is liye Sadde Zariya nhe hosakta kyun k us me asal larka aur larki ki haq talfi horahi hai. Zindagi unho he guzaarni hai. And haq talfi ki bunyad par koi Sadde Zariya ka hukum nhe lagaya jaasakta, khas tor pr agar Khuda ne aisa hukum na dia ho. Ye to had se tajawuz hojayega.

FOR HASSAN ILYAS & JAVED GHAMIDI Asalamoalykum. Ghamidi sahib has a very strange concept of Hijab (or as he calls them "etiquettes of meeting opposite gender"). On one hand, he claims that one must stay away from even those things which take the person close to Fawahish while, on the other hand, he's permitting the media industry where he accepts that there are a lot of dangers in this regard ending only by saying that men & women should be made more sensitive regarding their chastity. He's talking as if the entire Muslim world consists of ideal human beings that they'll be able to follow Islam perfectly & not err. You allow chaste people to walk close to Fawahish & some day they just might get involved in them. Has he forgotten the sahih hadith from Bukhari where Prophet Muhammad (saw) advised us to stay away from doubtful matters because of a chance of getting involved in sin even it it be by mistake. Additionally, he also permitted participating in sports that require one to uncover their Satr (ستر) as it's part of the rules (like kabaddi (کبڈی) or tennis). If overruling Islam's basic dress code isn't a blatant innovation (بدعت), I don't know what is. Instead to criticising the dress code made compulsory in those sports, he has permitted them entirely deeming their dress codes to be something widely accepted. If this is his argument then how about wearing bikini for women on beaches because that too is widely accepted in most of the world!? It's a researched & proven fact that human beings are weak psychologically & their biases lead to making wrong decisions despite the best of intentions. So, how can he even think that such things can be permitted where the sexual corruption is inevitable. My question to him is: Is it necessary to work in media or playing those sports where uncovering the Satr is compulsory & where it becomes necessary for men & women to intermingle or where the world sees them intermingling? What message do you think the young men & women take from such things? Furthermore, he allowed men shaking hands with women calling it something formal (رسمی). In every case, he gave reference of recorded Islamic history but here he neither presented any reference nor quoted any of the fuqaha to support his claim. Neither Imam Abu Hanifa nor Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal nor Imam Shafai nor Imam Malik ever claimed (to the best of my knowledge) that it was permitted for men to shake hands with women. Isn't Ghamidi sahib stance against the Ijma of Muslims? When Prophet Muhammad (saw) said it clearly in Sunan Nasai & Ibn Majah, "I do not shake hands with women", is there a need for any further evidence. It's Ghamidi sahib personal opinion that this was only specific to him & not the rest of Muslim men. If it's as he claims then he must bring some historical fact to his aid... This simply doesn't sit well with the mood of Islam where on one hand, it's asking us to maintain a certain distance while, on the other hand, would allow us formal or cultural touching of non-mahram women. I'm a bit disappointed that when Ghamidi sahib wants to prove his point of disagreement, he uses Islamic history for qiyas (analogy) but when he wants to prove his personal opinion, the Islamic history disappears altogether.

‏ واليضربن بخمرهن على جيوبهن. This is the part of the ayah that is used as an argument for the present day scarf mandate seen in some religious circles. It seemed like that Mr. Ghamidi kind of brushed aside this part of the ayah. I think this is unfortunate and he should have defended his view by explaining this part of the ayah that does seem to be mandating the covering of the head along with the chest. ‏والله أعلم
