Response Curves in X-Plane 11: Multiple points and curve types

Ойындар

This is a follow-up to the video below. This covers using multiple points as well as different types of curves. This is going to be revised to X-Plane 12 as Austin thinks he can do better with the intuitiveness of the interface.

Hello. Great video, I've been looking for it for a long time. Thank you very much. Without your video, the steering wheel and pedals are very sensitive, I’ve been suffering for half a year.

Thank you very much for this video and the one before this one. I was having a terrible time controlling the airplane on the runway. After following your video, now control of yaw is much more realistic. Now, X-plane 11 is outstanding for my use.

The right settings allow smoother movements when steering. Almost like real flying. Control with the T.flight Hotas X. No more jerky movements. Maybe I'll buy the honeycomb yoke. It gets so much praise everywhere. (I had the PPL as a young man. Unfortunately, due to a lack of necessary flying hours, I no longer had it. It was a nice time with original flying with Cessna 150 and Cessna 172.). Greetings from Bavaria in Germany.

Hi Michael thank you so much for your videos I find them really really good and very informative and this video has enabled me to get my yoke and rudder pedals fine tuned to perfection as I have both the Yoko Plus and the Ruddo Plus from Virtual Fly and they now work like a dream, thank you for taking the time to do these and make our experience so much better.

Thanks for this and the previous. Hadn’t considered using the response curves before. Set this up this evening with my Logitech yoke, and worked quite well. Less twitchy than before.

    1. The setup only allow us to set “equally” nullzone in both direction, meanwhile in fact (in regards of pitch setting from video) the nullzone problem probably occurs only to pulling side, but because the setting limited for both pull and push side this nullzone setting also effecting the pushing side. I think it’s good idea for future dev to make graphical curve setting for all side. So each side of flight control movement have their own curve. 2. The “spike” curve exist after certain percentage of movement in order to control the sensitivity but also get the 100% control travelling, I think if the X line(the horizontal line) can be longer and have the linear acceleration (so the control still can continue to travel even the flight control already in travel limit) this spike can be avoided so the user still have a chance using linear curve but shallow climb curve rather than sharp. I’m sorry for my english, I’ll try better explaination next time.

I was never dissatisfied with any curves settings in Xplane. Plenty of sims could take a hint or two from xplane control settings menu. Nor the base cessnas in xplane. But it is great to explain it to folks in this way. Love it. I would also love if you could bring this to their attention my issue lately are weird stall problems on lot of planes even some stock ones. (baron / king air from the top of my mind) Where with higher flap settings less the stall horn works in slow flight / landing. It is mostly in Experimental flight model. And this is usually coupled with very weak pitch authority in near stall conditions. This combination can lead to very bad landing situations and bizzare stall-incapable high AoA turning planes. Again this is not the case of the cessna. She is that nerdy best in class kid. :-) Pretty much all of the old Carenado models suffer this problem. Kodiak from thranda as well - sorry guys. On the other hand personal favorite in this regard are group PWDT&NHAdrian and their FREE Zlin Z-142. Free plane and it has best flight model i could find in x plane. Yeah yeah base cessna is close. :-) How come these guys knew exactly how to nail it. What do they know others do not ? Please download the plane and test it to see for yourself this is realistic flight model. Are there any plans to fix this ? Can they force devs of 3rd partie planes to fix it or finally allow community to release fixes and FM mods. Yes i get it is not possible in XP11 but how about from next iteration of XP LR would enforce rule for example - If 3rd party does not release the patch for a year, then community is allowed to post FM mods on XP site/forum/store ?

Thanks for this video. I have the alpha controls and the pressure on the stick is stronger than the CH yoke I had and I wonder if I need to make the Alpha more sensitive. What are your thoughts when the yoke is an Alpha?

Can we do a null zone for the throttle? I have some noise at the very bottom end of my throttle, it would be great to have zero response the first 3% - 5% of my throttle movement.

Nice cockpit with the realsimgear glass panels, is there a video going over setting those panels up with XPlane? Does XPlane have the ability to persist the setups which would cause the rendering of your "G1000" panel video from XPlane into the realsimgear panels? What I have seen online with MSFS is that they have to do a manual "setup" each time they launch their MSFS app. I watched your troubleshooting USB video and have a point that I would have made over there that I couldn't because comments are off. It may not be Saitek's fault. There are known USB class compliant driver bugs in Windows 7 and Windows 10's USB plug and play logic. There are also known chipset issues which exist and the only workaround is to unplug and replug the items you have plugged in. I build commercial "kiosk PCs" and support them, and believe me, it's a pain in the rear. The usb power management area of windows is a giant pile of dodgy mess, and Microsoft has a history of breaking these things periodically with Windows updates and windows servicing stack releases.
