Normal breathing rate as per NHS and wikipedia is 12-16 breaths per min in adult however it differs in different books and sites which is also right. breathing rate under 12 or over 25 breaths per minute while resting is considered abnormal

Its actually 13-15 or 12-16 as an average rate.During vigrous activities e.g exercise it is 18-20 according to authentic researches.
