It’s not a surprise that we appreciate very much Dr.Cliff, we appreciate you running such a rear mission in favor of confused mainly customers and their need of this important medical device. Especially in this HA monopolized market by only a few very expensive prescription HA that are distributed only by office chains and their exaggerated overhead, serviced by dispensers mainly and audiologist. 😢 thank you Dr.Cliff, you served as marine sniper, how fitting, both your military specialty and your education and carrier that requires the very same quality as precision and patient in serving…❤

Thank you for this (and other) reviews, Dr. Cliff! I have worn HA for 2 years - the experience was frustrating and the audiologist I was seeing did not seem to know how to adjust for my loss. Learning from your videos and now going to an awesome audiologist who follows Best Practice and is part of Hearing Up approved network. She has recommended the ReSound Omnia 9 which I got to try in her office. Holy moly, what a difference! I am looking forward to November when my insurance benefit renews! Also thanks to commenters about their experiences with Omnia.

I recently was fitted with this model hearing aids. They are much better than previous Phonak aids I had. Also better than Oticon units. I lost one Oticon aid that had the ear cone tip. I have custom ear molds with the Resound Omni which are better retention in the ear, and improved sound quality. My I phone 7 sometimes drops one ear. I was told I did not need the Resound App to control these Omnia units. I am still learning what works. There is a marked difference in the Front mode versus all around. I added the App to my phone but I still do not have a working knowledge of the function. I like having the 13 batteries as they last about a week versus two days of the 312 batteries used in my Oticon previous units. I had a lot of trouble hearing during church service yesterday, and wind noise outside. The sound quality is so good I tend to turn the volume too high. I hope to find more instructions on proper use of these Resound units.

Thanks Dr. Cliff…Was just tested under a doc named Sataloff in Philly and was fitted for the Omnia 9’s. Just turned 65 and never wore hearing aids. My loss is is “noise related” as best I recall with high freq loss. OMG Dr. Cliff, you’re right. I don’t hear my voice…at all. There was NO adjustment period. Got them earlier today and I actually don’t like taking them out. Sounds like I’m “deaf” or the ear is stuffed with cotton when I take it out. Told me if possible to not screw around with the programming until after I go back in 2 weeks. Don’t see any need…they seem perfect. I’ve lived on your channel for about a week. Thought I could get by with OTC but no way. Just subscribed…thank you!!!

My audiologist just ordered my Resound OMNIA HI RU962-DRW (not sure what all the letters n numbers mean) today and did the ear injection mold, too. Both the mold and the single hearing aid should be in on April 17th. I only need one aid, since I'm to get a Cochlear brand Cochlear implant come May 9th. 3 Audiologists and my implant surgeon at Vanderbilt all recommended the ReSound aid to sync best with the implant. Also, they said to go ahead and get the aid ahead of time, before the implant, and it will make syncing the aid and the implant much easier with having the aid first. Thanks for the high quality tips and learning of your videos. I always refer to your channel during visits.

I own the Jabra ones and the app is very, very similar to the ReSound Smart 3D. As I'm sure you know, Costco sells the Jabra brand. I can't find that you did a review of the Jabras.

Thanks for concise and informative review Dr. Cliff! How would the MRIE experience compare to a custom ITE (where the mic is also in the ear)? Also, I am trying the new Custom by Resound. It’s brand new and I’m in my 3rd week. Is there a way to get the same front focus effect from these aids? I am a long time hearing aid wearer but have had BTE RiTEs (Resounds) before and I’m still trying to get used to how my voice sounds with the Custom ITEs. They add a fair amount of noise on top of my voice. I think it’s from feedback management. My audiologist Dr. Villarreal is having a time trying to adjust for it.

Thanks for this video! I have been told by Oticon that my ear canals are too small for the 105db minirite earmoulds so I will have 100db for my opns3 aids! Does this mean that M&RIE earmoulds from Resound are likely to be larger than the RIE 100’s from Oticon & therefore unsuitable? My other question is whether a severe HF loss around 100db @ 2k and slightly worse at 3k-6k can be accommodated by these aids? I did hear (no pun intended😀) that feedback performance on Resound is not as good as on Oticon! I really like the Resound’s hearing in noise capability!

Just got fitted for Resound Omnia 9 with M&RIE receiver. My audiologist is loathed to try anything but a closed dome because of the likelihood of feedback at high freq. At 500Hz I'm less that 20dB loss but quite a slope down past 2K so all the amplification is at higher frequencies. The occlusion I get however is not really tolerable. Coupled with the noise reduction capabilities of the Omnia and it often feels like Im just walking around with my fingers in my ears.

What kills me about these reviews is how Olson mostly repeats the information provided by the manufacturer: although he does express some skepticism about the 150% improvement in background noise reduction, this should be verifiable. Even more importantly, how does the background noise reduction compare to that offered by other hearing aids, such as the Oticon Real 1? Even if the standards vary, it would give some indication about how good the reduction is.

I have been wearing hearing aids for 25 years with a moderate loss. I have been using Opn 1 for about 5 years with the help of a lot of tweaking by my audiologist. I moved to Portugal this year and trialed Oticon Real, More and Resound Omnia with and without Marie ( terrible for me). Had so many frustrating issues with each. I am thinking the audiologists here near Lisbon are not as well trained as in US, plus there is a language barrier. Real ear measurement does not exist here. There a lot of events in noise here, so not sure what to do. There is an online group in Germany that is selling high end brands at reduced prices. All adjustments are made remotely while you are in the environment you need help with, could be promising. This has been so frustrating!

In their previous models, ReSound does not do well in humidity or with sweat. I’ve had to have my HA sent to the manufacturer to be fixed a few times. In fact, one of them still shuts down then restarts every so often-especially during humid months. Would the Omnia model be better in this regard? Otherwise, I’ve enjoyed the sound quality of ReSound and that’s before the third microphone.

I don't expect the rule to lower the cost of Rx hearing aids. In fact, I expect it could possibly increase the cost of prescription hearing aids due to increased demand. Just like when OTC readers hit the market and led to a significant increase in Rx eyeglass sales. OTC will likely play in their own sandbox at a cost lower than Rx hearing aids, but it will definitely not lower them.

Anyone who doesn't absolutely need new devices for better hearing today - like those of us ready for an upgrade / replacement but otherwise just fine with current devices - really should not waste money until LE Audio devices are available. Because I want the connectivity, Phonak's devices with Bluetooth Classic are really my only option until they and others release new devices! ASHA sucks, to be blunt. Made for iPhone is still a modification of Bluetooth LE. And I want bidirectional audio on any Bluetooth LE Audio connection, including laptops as well as phones. So let's hope manufacturers get it right in the coming months and years.

Most people will not care about LE Audio, and some people who do will not want to wait with older technology until it comes out. Of course, there will be some people who will wait until it comes out and hold their hearing aids together with superglue and tape until it is available.

@@DrCliffAuD I understand everyone has different needs and wants. I realize there are other features added but frankly having worn 6 pair of Phonak, 2 pair of ReSound over decades, most of those upgrades are not as dramatic as the marketing would have us believe. Bluetooth, wireless, and remote management on the other hand are huge improvements. I remain of the opinion that not caring about LE Audio is often linked to not being aware of what standardized technology can do for consumers. Auracast usurping telecoil and looped facilities while also benefitting everyone unlike loops, ease of connectivity to any device like BT Classic in Phonak or any neckloop - these are widely useful to hearing aid users as a non-proprietary standard unlike ASHA or Mfi. It will be nice to stream any TV to hearing aids some day without needing my particular brand's streamer (so no vendor lock-in either), or go to a movie potentially without needing a clunky caption device, or use any telephone bidirectionally regardless of OS.

With the 360 deg feature and the assessment of the soundscape what listening experience should I expect when wearing the Omnia 9 devices? Without hearing aids I found that turning up the centre speaker helped me to hear voices better and there is also a soundbar app which can adjust for better voice and speech sound. Im hoping that with the new Omnia 9 I will be able to listen to my Dolby Atmos system and hear the surround sound like I would without hearing aids, i.e. a fully immersive experience including directional sounds to match the action on screen.

@@genevadaddy I don’t have any of the listed hearing losses. Not even hidden hearing loss, but the sound of things is lower since the pulsatile tinnitus.
