    Thank you for the video. It helped a lot but I am a bit confused about the chlorite example. It doesn’t obey the octet rule since Cl atom has 10 electrons and it expanded its octet. Is it also possible for other elements?

    Hey, Dicle! So normally it would; HOWEVER, chlorine, being in the 3rd row of the periodic table, can expand its octet and stuff electrons beyond 8 valence electrons in its 3d subshell. This type of example is a bit weird specifically for organic chemistry (in my opinion, this is more of a gen-chem geared problem), but I included it here to provide a more involved resonance/formal charge example. Check 26:36 of the video, and let me know if re-watching that part clears up some confusion.
