My parents moved to Stewart in 1954. I was born there along with two of my sisters. We moved to Terrace in 1963. Mary was a friend of my parents. My oldest sister was the May Queen that year.

I just talked to my older sister, she said that Kasum's owned the house my family rented before moving to Terrace. Mary would certainly remember the Foote family.

2 years ago, you did a video on Hyder, Stewart and the Salmon glacier. I was looking for an epic destination for my 50th birthday. Within a few months, Itchy Boots passed through there as well. That was it. So in August of 2023, I left Ontario on my motorcycle, with Stewart BC as my destination. I stayed in Stewart for 2 nights and I tell ya.... there is something magical about that place. Nestled in the bay, shadowed by the surrounding mountains...... just beautiful. I stopped in many places across all the provinces and Stewart was the hardest to leave. The quiet pace and serenity was just what any adventurer needs. Thank you Dustin for the inspiration. Safe travels.

Thank you for taking us along on another great adventure. You've taken us here before, but I certainly don't mind seeing it again ❣️

Yet again I’m left baffled by the viewed counter. When you’d be hard pressed to find a video with such a high level of professionalism in every aspect of film making. Both video,sound, host etc is at such a high standard. Not to mention the content of each and every video. Every story is unique and magical. With landscapes that are both all inspiring and breathtaking. To the story behind each video. Again at risk of sounding like a broken record this video’s are so amazingly put together! And a host that is very likable both on screen and off. When mediocrity is the norm on KZread. Here on destination, adventure is far from the norm! Dustin is a wonderful documentarian, wildlife filmmaker, action, etc. there’s nothing he doesn’t do. And do well! So let don’t loss such a talented individual. Let us help in every way possible. Like, comment, and share his incredible films! It doesn’t take but a moment to write a comment, and click that like button. With today’s KZread algorithm each comment, like and share are critical for a KZreadr to get a push from KZread just to be put in the “checkout” section. Without this a KZreadr isn’t getting the far chance to be showcased on their platform. I know it’s not right! But until they correct this “I highly doubt” or there’s a major shake up in management. KZreadr like Dustin here get sidelined by ridiculous videos. So please let save this amazing channel for all of benefit. So like,share, comment, subscribe.

Dustin I really enjoyed this video. Back in 1970 my family move to Stewart for a year. We traveled up on the Northland Prince. I was 6 years old, one of 6 children. I remember clearly the top notch service with waiters at each table, towels draped over their arms. We were such a large family we had 2 cabins and my older siblings were on their own. Then the adventure of living there. This video brought back so many memories. Thank you 🙏

I remember that too ,well dressed waiters with the towel,I was about the same age and once the waiter new I liked apple juice there was a glass waiting for me at every meal.Thanks for bringing back that memory :)

Lived there as a kid from 1970 until 1976. Loved it. Exploring old miner cabins, climbing on the glacier, snow forts , skating on frozen lakes.

Another great half an hour of D&E acting as our eyes and ears.

I have a dear friend that moved up to Stewart and I believe it has been an amazing opportunity. Every summer he tries to drag me out of the prairies and head north. The pictures and stories are outstanding. He has a service truck, and points out that opportunities are endless for the motivated. What a beautiful place. From millet Alberta. ✌

I grew up in this town. Left in 1997, still miss it. Much simpler life up there to be sure.

Just came back from Stewart, Bc. Calgary to Stewart to Vancouver via Whistler, back to Calgary. Stewart was the most beautiful magical place in whole trip

Great stories from the locals Beautiful wilderness. Spoting the Bald Eagles sparked a memory of mine. In 1978 in Yakutat, Alaska l had been fishing in the Yakutat Bay. We where on a fishing boat a mile off shore. Circling some 100 feet above us was a Bald Eagle. Minutes later this Bald Eagle dives into the ocean and grabs a Salmon. Then flies away with his meal. Truely remarkable how powerful these birds really are. Thank you for sharing.

I think Emi has found her grove. She looks so relaxed and happy in this week's adventure

I can never say this enough, every video you do gets better, Truly remarkable. I love mountains, living in Louisiana, I don't see mountians. Your channel makes me love them more. I am loving this season more and more with you and Emi. Thank you both!

Interesting when you chat with the locals. Never forget when I was in Coast Guard and we did the Inland Passage. Most of my career was big cities like New Orleans, Seattle, SF, LA. It was refreshing to see the planet wasn't all concrete and buildings. Your videos remind me of how big this planet is.

I spent a week there in the late 80's what a beautiful place and the Salmon Berries are delicious.

Love these adventures Dustin goes on, the stories from the locals really brings to light of how life was, you could almost feel as if you were ounce there. I so look forward the every new story you provide us, thank you for showing us your world and adventures

Man, I love the interviews! This dropped at 10.30pm last night here in Tasmania, just as I was getting ready to crash out. We have made it up there three times. Cassiar to Tuk twice and full length of the Alcan and side bar to Tuk once. Each time doing the Cassiar we have gone to Stuart/Hyder and up to Salmon glacier. Now three things prevent me from doing it ever again. My wife is done with that particular trip, I'm having some medical crap and we both are probably too old. So, again, many thanks for taking me along. Tell Em to keep the rod tip pointing up.

So great to see a picture of the Northland Prince,traveled on her many times from Ocean Falls to Vancouver.You had to either fly or take the "Prince".

I spent a week or so in Stewart in the fall of 94. I needed tires for my fifth wheel and the plan was to visit Hyder but I didn’t make it. I stayed at a campground that was ran by a civic organization back in the trees. The people were friendly and helpful, I had to air up my tires every other day. I had a 15’ Coleman canoe and had a local that wanted to buy it until he found out it wasn’t a square stern. It might be fun to just spend some time there again.

Amazingly beautiful BC! Awesome photography. Love how you showcase the locals. Makes the videos more personal to hear the history.

Of all your adventures, I’ve fallen in love with Stewart. We live on Whidbey Island, in Washington State, and this South Louisiana gal never thought she’d feel more at home in the Pacific Northwest than in the Southern US but there it is. My husband, who isn’t on social media, wanted me to comment on how wonderfully healthy and robust Emmi is looking! I agree. And her laughter is magical. Thank you both.

My dad was born on Premier mountain, the Alaskan side but was registered Canadian. His dad took a lot of great photos of Stewart and Premier in the 30’s and 40’s. It was great to get to see and hear from the people living there still, and what it looks like now.

One of my favorite episodes yet. The shot that Emi got of you diving into the boat was priceless, and also her driving the boat and you flying the drone was awesome! Tip for shrimping, when circumstances allow, try to pull the pots/traps every tide. The shrimp can swim out of the traps at slack water. I am so stoked to follow your adventures this summer!! Gonna try to pull off a secret/hidden boat beer delivery, a "Dave" so to speak, at some point if circumstances allow! You are absolutely crushing it, keep up the phenomenal work Dustin!

In 2015 on the way back from Alaska with our trailer we stayed in Stewart for three days at the RV park. It was wonderful, we watched bears feed on salmon, drove up to see the huge glacier. We will return someday.
