You are the kind of person that makes me hopeful for the future, especially the future of games. I had RE back in 96, in 40, and been a huge fan ever since...one of the first websites I ever went to in 97 was an RE one...that was back when say downloading a 3mb song took 45mins!(at best) Knowing that a young person like yourself appreciates the older games...that’s really cool. I still playand enjoy some Mega Drive games (what the Genesis was called in Ireland) like Streets of Rage or Sonic the same I did 30 years ago...I remember when GTA was an overhead 2D game! I remember getting RE2 when it came out , same weekend because of had been saving for it, and it looked COMPLETELY different than the magazines I’d been reading for a year or so before !( look up Resident Evil 1.5)and thought it couldn’t get better than this! Got back into gaming after a 6-7 year break and couldn’t believe how good 7 and 8 were...let alone the Remakes ...(I had a GameCube and I had Remake and 0, I urge you to play the RE1 remake if you haven’t yet, it’s incredible) ... I’m an old cranky twat now but hearing that you dig the old stuff makes me smile. Wish you the best from Dublin mate 👍

32:57, if you guys are reading this. When RE released in 1996, it heavily appealed to kids who would watch horror movies. "This Game Contains Scenes of Explicit Violence and Gore" The game feels like you're playing a horror movie and it was amazing, still is. We'd never seen anything like the opening intro and we genuinely cared for the characters and their well-being. It was also a really difficult game and almost served as a rite of passage in Middle School. Staying over at a friends house on the weekend, staying up late playing RE, only the glow of the TV screen, getting terrified, ha. The gameplay is arguably flawless and because of that, it always had an audience. It's just damn fun to play and allows a variety of way to explore the mansion and get various endings. It brings back lots of great memories and people still deeply care about the characters.
There are only three S.T.A.R.S. members left now. Captain Wesker, Barry and myself. We don't know where Jill is.

Judging by the interviews it blows my mind that these guys largely didn't know how much of an impact they've made on so many people until fairly recently. These guys and gals have informed and solidified how the characters look to this very day. I was 9 when I first played RE1. I wasn't allowed to play it because of how violent it was. My uncle would let me slip in a few sessions here and there until I beat the game. We can look back and see how cheesy the intro and ending was, but when you're 9 and all you had was a SNES: that intro blew your f'n mind. It was rad. It was terrifying. It gave me nightmares. It enticed me. Beckoned. Dared me to play this game that I wasn't supposed to play. It was perfect.

@@chad1097 Think that story checks out because she approached some key people at that show, joined promoting the game more, her charisma and out-there nature helped promote the game a lot on these meet and greet trade shows. At the time she was promoting her TV show gig being dressed as a clown and when she heard her voice got over to their setup, said she is in this game, the other people just looked at each other and was like who TF is this girl in a clown costume also is she really in this game... So after some talk etc she joined them. Later got producer credits and she was also a ''drama director'' too among other things. Sadly later on as for the rest it all went downhill with the corporate politics and with that the series too and basically everything.

Brother, this was one of the first games I saw played as a kid. …You know how some people, they had a fear of dinosaurs? Maybe even ghosts? This original game made zombies my nightmare. When I was scared of the dark as a kid, it’s because I feared zombies. That’s why this game is special to me. This institution is in my top 3 favorite game series ever made, always will be.
this is so crazy. the search for the original live actors is almost as legendary as the actors that solidified the look of these iconic characters themselves. to see it all slowly but surely come to a head at this moment is beautiful. major thanks to all of the original actors for taking the time to do this for the fans, it's really special for a lot of us.
I Can’t believe we had the pleasure and opportunity to see a sit down between Chris Barry And Albert they’ve aged well through all the survival horror
Seriously those guys do not even understand the impact they had on many people who grew up during that time. I grew up in Syria, and RE 1 director’s cut was the first horror game I ever played in the 90’s, and it blew my mind. I didn’t even know that games can be scary but I loved it. I loved the cut scenes those guys starred in, and watched it many times. I still love it and prefer it over the animated ones in the remake (although the remake game itself is better). I’m very excited for this new movie and hope it succeeds and become the start of something bigger! Good luck

I gasped when I saw Barry! I love that they're all so humble having just done - in their eyes - "a couple of days," shooting, and yet created 3 of my favourite characters of all time. I love the colour coded shirts, and the fact that wesker not only has the shades, but a comb back hairstyle... I can almost see him now scraping it across his scalp before standing cross armed with a "I own you" bad guy look on his face. What an interview!!!
Answering to Eric's question. What makes the game so important at least for me, but I think we all can agree, is that Resident Evil 1 defined the Survival horror genre. Before RE, survival horror wasn't even a thing. There was this game called "Alone in the Dark", which is the prototype of what Survival Horror would come to be, but it wasn't until Resident Evil that the genre was solidified. The game required you to be resourceful, plan your next 3 moves, be smart but it was also constantly throwing you curve balls, putting you in stressful and scary situations, that created this big sense of dread that gave Resident Evil its identity and ultimately gave birth to a new genre. Also the acting, I mean, with all due respect, it was cheesy, both live action and the voice acting later on with different actors. Its not like it was bad in a negative way, you definitely put a lot of effort and care but it was very charming, it is hard to explain. Very few video games have the distinction of being recognized as the ones that created a new genre. Resident Evil has that distinction, just like Super Mario Brothers, Resident Evil is up there, with Super Mario, that is why this is so big, that is why people have been looking for you, because you were part of a historic moment in gaming.
@doswillrule
Жыл бұрын
For sure. The original game cemented what survival horror was - pre-rendered backgrounds, camera angles that hid the zombies from view, great sound design, lighting, tank controls, all of that stuff that made the mansion feel so immersive and real. For me it was the first time a horror game felt truly real, where your character was an extension of you, and getting eaten by a zombie was a terrifying, visceral experience. The actors deserve credit for giving us a sense in a very short period of who the characters were, so that when they're in danger, we care what happens to them. It's also no exaggeration to say that without Resident Evil, we wouldn't have the modern zombie boom of The Walking Dead, 28 Days Later, the Dawn of the Dead remake etc. So they're not just part of the history of this huge franchise, but of an entire genre.
Imagine being Greg's neighbor and knowing all the time where Wesker's hideout was all the time until RE5 was released. Make jokes about the Umbrella corporation being next door, stuff like that. These guys are so cool and calmed, they are discovering they have been a huge thing for years and I love their reactions to each question. They even asked what all the fuss is about, they can't believe how passionate are the fans about something they considered just another job.
I played the original resident evil when I was a kid in high school, good to see these gentlemen doing well , they sure aged better than I did

I loved this! Much thanks to Charlie, Greg, Eric, Andrew, and the fans who tracked them down. It was informative, entertaining, and wholesome. Those 37 minutes flew by. Regarding Eric's question... For me, one of the reasons Resident Evil is so captivating and memorable is largely the awe of it my first time experiencing it, and the nostalgia when I think back to seeing and playing it for the first time... Here's this game, unlike anything I've seen or played before--a horror game--and it's absolutely amazing. My first experience with the horror genre of video games... I was 10, and I would say everything is so much more impactful and resonating in your younger years. I guess the unfortunate thing is life has a way of making people jaded after so long... Of course, I still love it to this day. Resident Evil 1 is still my favorite of the series. The remake of the first game is of the most beautifully atmospheric games in my opinion, and while I prefer the remade version, I still really like the original. Especially the opening that Charlie, Greg, Eric, and others are in. Subscribed!

OH MY FUXKIN’ GOD!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 I always wonder what happened to original cast members!! ITS FUXKIN’ INSANE TO SEE THEM AGAIN!! I hope the other 3 cast members see this video!!! Idk why but this is making me tear up 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
It’s really cool seeing the three of them again. I spent many hours playing the original Resident Evil, so I have seen those live-action scenes many times. It’s really great seeing them back together again, all these years later.
So cool seeing the OG's and hearing their story! I find it interesting how back in those days a lot of actors took part in projects that later on became legendary and the actors just thought nothing of it until later

I wanna see the elusive Inez too. She needs to come out of hiding lol. I know Shinji Mikami didnt like Inez and thought she whined too much but maybe all that has settled and he might have some retrospection. Shinji was a loose cannon but he had vision, which is why he remade the perfection that is RE1remake.

Hey lol! Funny running into you here Saggy! Sup?
Doesn’t matter how many iterations or actors play these legendary roles, these men are the real original Chris, Barry and Wesker, also, Eric’s voice sound very much like Albert Wesker. I would have loved to see Inezh(Jill)and Linda (Rebecca) there

Just drop a tear watching this... Ty ROE and everyone involved in this project!!!
What an absolute special reunion video to have the original cast sharing their experience. Really puts tears to such an amazing game to this day
this is like a dream come true, never expected to see these three reunited again.
the REAL Albert Wesker
Really recovering this cast of actors for this meeting has incalculable value, thank you very much for such tremendous work and thank you for being all here.
All those years and you guys are the best versions of those characters for me and always will be. Thank you so much!
Wesker doesn't look like he wants to be there. Looks like he was more interested in...global saturation...
Seeing the 3 original actors come to do this interview is really incredible and after 25 years. Can’t wait to watch The Keeper’s Diary. 🙌

@@leeturner8023 thats right man. Its just that the hair is black instead of brown. But yeah I had to double glance haha. The actress has been missing and nothing is really knoen about her.
I met Chris and Barry here in Milwaukee at a convention called Midwest Gaming Classic. Me and my friends was the NWO Wolfpack and we had the WCW belts and Barry thought we was actual wrestlers and approached us asking where is the wrestling event.....we was in total shocked and I was like BARRY BURTON!! He smiled and said yes that's me. I told him the location and we got a picture with him and Chris and Barry requested another pic with him putting me in a headlock lol They were super cool 😎 😎
Seeing these guys after all these years really made me happy🥲🥳thank you very much for making this happen 🙏🏻
Greg Smith (Barry) lives less than 3 hours away from me irl, a road trip 🤣 unreal.. I had no idea Barry was an Australian! I played RE1 back when I was 10 years old and it was my first RE game.
I hope they're able to contact the rest of the cast members, it would be absolutely epic to see them all after all these years, especially since fans worldwide have tried very hard to find them.

Guys you really affected my childhood in a good way. I am a big fan, thanks for every beautiful moments you gave to us.
This was an incredible video to come across. Thank you so much to you and the actors for making this possible. What a treat it is to see them get some recognition now after being a part of our lives for so long.
I've noticed the Original Resident Evil cast are wearing their iconic signature colors.
This cast is a living relic. They should know their importance.
This is so cool, thank you for putting this together, and for the wonderful actors for getting back together to do this for us long-time fans! The nostalgia is real!!
I thank the channel for bringing the actors together and bringing back such good childhood memories. I grew up playing RE and I play to this day, seeing them together is a tribute to the fans. Thank you for deciding to do this random job that was the precursor to a beloved franchise...
It's absolutely insane that these gentlemen participated in one of the greatest survival horror series, maybe even video games in general, and they only found that out recently.
This is amazing, it's incredible to see them together again, I really hope they will continue to be active in the Resident Evil universe in some way;. They are LEGENDS and this is legendary! Original Chris, Barry, and Wesker.
Thank you for doing this guys. I've been dreaming to get a reunion of the original cast for so long, I never thought I'd be able to see it. Hopefully one day we'll get to see the whole cast together!
What a feeltrip this was, Amazing to see the people you "grew up" with. from one fan to another and from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Its crazy to think none of these guys even knew resident evil became so big until later on...its awesome how humble they are and how passionate they are about the game now. It would be great to see them all do or watch a playthrough of the game!

We finally know Where is Barry
Thank you, all of you for this. This is special to me. I’m glad to say I was one of the first to play this game on its release and it totally blew my mind on how video games were advancing at the time. My cousins and I used to play this game in the dark with the stereo cranked up real loud on sleepovers. I still own my original copy of the game to this day in the big box before Playstation quickly switched to jewel cases early in its debut. Thank you again for making this happen. The RE community needed this.
thank you all so much for coming back after all these years, games like this back when we were younger took us out of reality and into a fantasy / horror dream where we could let our imagination run wild and it's all thanks to your little intros and outros that brought the whole experience together , thank you STARS!
Now to track down Jills actress.
Such a pleasure to see the original cast! Thanks so much for this!
Thank you KZread recommendations!
I’m so happy that they know they have fans and that they are micro-celebrities. They certainly deserve it. I hope they make more appearances.
I can definitely attest to Charlie that RE has definitely gotten me through tough times. RE, especially 1 and 2, are my comfort games, with Chris Redfield being my favorite character. If I ever need my brain to shut off for an hour+, or to forget about the bad stuff, I throw in RE1, pick Chris, and auto pilot myself through the game

This was absolutely awesome. As a huge fan of RE since it first came out, these actors here will forever be my Chris, Barry & Wesker. I can always hear the theme and the voice announcing these characters names. This truly made my day yesterday. Thanks for all the people who put this together. I salute you 🙌👏
This is so cool! Thanks so much to everyone who did the research and clued these people in to who they are within RE. Awesome video, love that the OG cast is able to finally connect with the fans and realize their place in RE history.
The chills running my spine seeing them. Hope all is good for them!
Dude you got the original cast together holllly sheeettt Kudos!!!
This was unexpected. I am glad this popped up in my search. I would like to see Jill and Rebecca.
Amazing what you accomplished. The actors are so nice in person that made me appreciate them even more. Legends that had no idea they were making history that day. Congrats on the project. You deserve and they deserve all the praise too!
Barry Burton hasn’t aged one bit!
i really almost cried when i saw theese 3 guys , i still see them in the opening clip from 1996, im now 34, so im feeling lot of nostalgy! thanks for this gift !!
Thank you for doing this! Resident Evil is a huge part of many peoples life’s! It makes me so happy to know those involved are getting support from the fans!
Thank you so much for making this possible, to everyone involved. This is true history of Resident Evil and I LOVE IT ❤
I can't get over the Wesker's shades and shirt colors for all 3. It's like they're sharing their game character motif irl. Really nice touch.
oooo Baaaaarry, Chris and wesker, this is sooo amazing to see the original cast all together and talking, well done guys
This is awesome, they really deserve the recognition.
This was an amazing treat. Thank you so much for bringing this Icons here so they had a chance to tell us their story :)
Eric looks so cool, he's still Wesker, I love it.
This made my day. But Inez, Linda, Jason please get in contact with your Alpha and Bravo teammates! They need you! Lets make it happen.
An interview many people have been waiting decades for.....well done. I look forward to the movie.
This is amazing, they seem as a really cool guys, loved how they even asked questions and stuff. Hope you guys are able to find the rest of the cast, that would be cool. Congrats for everyone who was searching and finally were able to find them 🙌🏼
