By far the BEST CV walkthrough, awesome tips that level the playing field when trying to conquer the platinum in the most efficient way.

One thing I like about the Everyman's guides that you (and Darkness who got me through RE2 s ranks) do is that 1. you are very entertaining, i'm watching the video through before I even start my second run to go for A rank, and 2. you show that it's okay to mess up! Even on this slower version of the game. I got my copy on the PS store so I don't know what version I have, but it's good to know that either way I have time

Cheers, mate. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Code Veronica are my favorites. I appreciate the effort and trial-and-error in making this guide!

Am I glad to see this. I used your video guides for 0 and 1 and am getting ready to start Code Veronica and there’s not a lot of “good” videos out there for CV. You obviously put a lot of work in these runs and give well detailed info as you go along. Keep up the good work my man.

Took about 8 playthroughs and a lot of save reloading to try different things just to get to this point xD Ive still gotta do battle mode yet though m8, thats the main story done though so a weight of my shoulders ;)

Being playing a few Resis over the last few months in prep for Resi 4. New to the series and used a few of your guides now, excellent work.

Thanks mate, I thought this was pretty well done as it is the only 100% guide, that also gets every other trophy at the same time but it just gets overlooked a lot for whatever reason Maybe it looks too long, as speedrunners are much quicker. Fact is though, the speedrunners all play the quicker NA versions which run like 30% quicker. So despite this walkthrough being over 3 hours, its actually just over 2 hours, I just never cared too much about buying the NA version just so I can do the quicker version of it. Covering the slowest and hardest version covers every base

Hopefully I can lend a hand, we don't use sniper on the Nosfer btw, we just run away and shoot with 200 x HG bullets out the way of danger, let the auto lock-on do its job rather than our poor sniping skills xD

Did it first attempt thanks alot man, I'm gonna do part 2 tomorrow. I gotta say that it's such a relief when you mess up 😂, because it shows that you don't need a perfect run. For example you forgot to discard the card so I used that as an opportunity to grab the extra 10 explosive cross bow bolts. You know that one dislike on your video came from some kid who died on the tyrant fight 😂😂😂😂.

Do you think?? Its hard to me to tell as I am sorta just explaining what I think to be easier through experience. I guess I select stuff that is easier to master, so should help you to become good more optimally rather than keep dying while trting stuff that wont even work xD

Thanks appreciate it bud ;) Yea CVX is pretty easy when done this way, and Im perhaps a bit better at routing since ZERO if im honest ;) Thing is the Battle Games are going to be very hard if you are EU, and unfortunately I cant help much there as they are very skilled best. I mean I do my best, but they will take some practice.

still plowing through the series and still coming here as my first stop to any and all resident evil playthroughs. i havent started this yet but wanted to include an interesting tidbit for anyone who like me hasnt started yet. for some reason if you sit on the title screen long enough, you unlock a trophy for upgrading a gun called M93R lol. i was busy tweeting out my next game and i suppose it triggered from one of those demo footages that sometimes play in older games when sitting on the title screen too long. i was laughing so hard when it popped.

First of all, thanks for the video. I bring important information about the timer, because there is a lot of confusing information on the internet. If you press L1+ the right pad, the timer does not stop. The timer only actually stops by pressing the PS4 home button. I just finished pressing the home button and it worked fine, so good luck guys.

I played this game over and over again and I already obtained the rank A and infinite launcher years ago. What I discovered in subsequent new games, if you complied all requirements for rank A and still used the infinite launcher, you'll only get a rank B. I guess using special weapons like infinite launcher will also lower your rank

Long haired/ fat Chris lol. Really just need to try insanity difficulty. I did a little Raid but not enjoying the grind.

@@Optinooby and it’s around 700 or so achievement points for Raid. Very disappointing. I would absolutely enjoy the rest of your reaction to the game lol. I know it might not be worth your time. But A lot more scenes with Raymond (joker), Fat Chris and Jessica. It’s a very creepy yet silly game.

Well I attempted. And the good news is your guide is super helpful to beat the game. Bad news is I am horrible at tank controls. So I gave up on the speed run portion. Just playing for fun and the other achievements this round. I’ll probably revisit at some point in the future to speed run it. Those older RE games are rough to control.

Doing this right after I finish RE1 remake, was gonna do this simultaneously whilst doing RE1 but the controls are so dodgy I won't commit to it yet. Can't wait to start following your resident evil 3 guide when it's more modernised and freelance. Don't need to worry about dodgy controls

No it's the video mate, big apologies for it, I fixed what I could. I recorded this in 2 half's,the 2nd part when I got to editing, the audio was all out of synch. I tried to fix it with what I had, you may have noticed at times, it seems to start going bad, then gets right again. What I did watch cut the audio and try to line it up every 10 mins or so so I didn't get too bad. I did consider running it all again, to be honest I probably should have..but I was hoping it's still ok to follow Sorry mate

@@Optinooby No worries buddy it was still watchable, still managed to keep up with it, I always find it difficult to line audio and video up together I tried it with gameplay a while back but the video was really out of sync by like 10 seconds.

I got bit by a bunch of zombies that you didn't but then I also avoided hits from the long armed fucks and other enemies that you did get hit by. That first bandersnatch didn't touch me a single time. Somehow.

Tempted to get this just for the fact you made a guide about it.

Just finished recording P2, will go up tomorrow, came in at 03:16:00. Thought I would be about 10 mins quicker if im honest, but think thats ok. That time is the equivalent of probably 02:25:00 or so on the NTSC version. Battle Mode guides will go up a bit later, going to get back to RE5 now, finish that, then come back and finish the Battle Mode for this. Guess thats the main story done though, so can relax a bit now and not have to worry abt remembering everything xD

Hey, Opti! About to start another great guide of yours and I have a question about this one: do I need to press the PS button only when opening doors or that was just to make sure the game paused? I've seen in another guides that it only works when suspending the app (by opening KZread, for example), so I'm not sure. Thanks!!!

Hi mate, yea that is just a confirmation if you yourself are unsure. Basically the timer is always running unless you rest mode it or open a media app which will suspend the game app. The opening the door trick is just to confirm the timer is paused, the opening door scene is unpauseable, so if you have another idea that can pause that just like rest mode and a media app does, then try it. A media app or rest mode will pause the timer, the door trick is just a confirmation sort of thing

I am writing this comment so far in frustration I got up to about the 30 minute mark Had to use up all my herbs and apparently did not have a slot free for the emblem Time to give up and try again later Who ever decided to not have a way to pause the timer in this game and re1 I hate them but so far your guides seem good it's just a lack of skill and nerves on my part letting me down

This is the next RE game up on my list for Platinum-ing !! 😍🏆🤘🏻 Btw, do you have trophy guides for RE1R and RE0? 🤔

Hey m8, it stops it on PS5 yea, going to PS5 main menu, I tested as well at the end of the game. I havent tested on PS4 but effectively should be the same. Do it when the door animation between rooms begins, and if it stops the door animation, then it pauses the timer!

Let's goooooo! I just got Code Veronica today 5/16/23 and it was $3.99 on sale in the xbox Microsoft Store. I'm so happy it came back on sale, NOW! keep in mind this will be my very first resident evil game that has that classic camera movement style. This is something I'm going to get used to lmao. From RE3 Remake to CV yea big change in gameplay. Wish me luck to get used to the old style camera. I'm going to watch this and play this on Friday or Saturday... man, I need to hurry up and finish RE3 S Rank Assisted ASAP so I can jump to CV. :)))) Edit: I wonder the game will pause if I go to xbox homepage?

Hi: Little Update I been so busy with my hours cause of work, and I have a sore throat since last Saturday, and I just played CV first time I exited the game cause, One: When I go to Xbox home page the game doesn't pause. :(((, and two: the joystick movement is going to get used too going into a straight line, I got bit alot in the first line once you enter the graveyard after the cutscene. I'll he taking my time to get used to the movement. After I beat my game blind I'll be coming back to this video. I told you this is my first RE game with the classic movement system and the first 5 mins I wasted time cause it's hard to walk lmao.

Hey buddy. Your battle game tips were a Godsend. Especially with Chris and Alexia stucking in the corner. I A rank it with like 10 seconds to spare. Thank You. I don't know if you read this but if you do, are you 100% sure that the ps4/ps5 home screen pause the timer? Because I'm about to start a new game while watching your video and nobody else online mentioned the trick, everybody is saying that only rest mode and opening another application works. But your trick is way faster and easier so I'm suprised why it is not mentioned anywhere else. I tried it myself and it does pause the game during cutscenes and doors but I'm unsure if it stops the timer. Now i know I'm asking too much because there is no way to see the timer until you finish the game itself but if you have tested it and you know it works, it will be extremely helpful. Again thank you for your guides and I'm going to start the run.

Hi mate, yea I can't remember exactly,, but if I say something works or doesn't work, I would have tested it myself and not just copy others websites like most do. A lot of sites don't test everything, they just go with the common info and don't test further, and copy others. This happens a lot unfortunately What are you asking for, the Battle Games or Main Game??

That 3 hours 16 is the equivalent of about 2 hours 10 if you're on the NTSC version Sorry I can't say more on it mate, I just don't remember, that's why I mention it all in the commentary

Campaign, simple with my guide m8, we even do ALL campaign trophies in a SINGLE playthrough, still with over an hour to spare (EU) Battle games though, even with my guides, its still going to take practice m8 especially on EU and thats where most thw difficulty comes from U can make campaign easu with a good guide as we do here, the battle games takes practice no matter It is hare, but doable, I do the EU battle games here with 10 secs to spare so hasnt gotta be perfect. Its those little things that add up, like opening ur inventory a single time can consume 20 secs believe it or not!!

Yes mate, once you get that halfway save, you're free to lob your system out the window. Then resume your save once you realise you need your treasure back

Does anyone know if there is a way to pause the timer on Xbox One like you can with the PS4 version on PS5? I'm playing the 360 version on Xbox One X and being able to stop the timer to check a guide or just to take a moment to chill during a stressful section would change this run from days and days of trying and re-trying to more like a day for the first half and another for the second.

I think you can pause the game and the timer holding the L1 and the start button (the right half of the mouse pad on the controller, someone can confirm this, because a pause screen appears so maybe the game is saying that the timer is also paused. It works on the ps2 and ps4 versions, not sure about the ps3.

Unfortunately not m8, thats the PS3 version which has a different list including less trophies!

You have to press the PS buttom and enter the full PS menu. If u wanna make sure, do it when a door is opening, if the animation stops, them it pauses the game. Other than that m8, no, its the only way, the older REs had really annoying timers

I was following your walkthrough and was doing great up until the final tyrant in the cargo plane. I did exactly as you said, fired 2 bow rounds and 7 fire arrows. But by the time I was finished he was already in my face and stun locking me. I didn’t realize that you needed to push that button to end the fight. I thought you waited until he dropped to knees then hit the button like in previous resident evil games. I ended up spamming so much ammo so I’m left with 0 fire bow rounds and 9 grenade rounds going into the 2nd part. Luckily I have the infinite herb. Wish me luck I don’t know if I will get through the 2nd part with limited ammo…. Also why are we collecting so much pistol ammo? I must have missed somewhere where you explain why.

There will be a reason for it, everything is always carefully planned. Though if the reason isnt clear then its perhaps just to give you guys more to play with as i cant predict how accurate each person will be ;)

So. On the door animation a press the PS button and that stop the time? Cuz I hear that you need to open a application like KZread to pause the timer. You playing on PS5. So this work on PS4 as well?

The app thing is quite an old thing, I think Sony released updates since where the PS menu or Rest Mode suspended stuff, also different games work differently, some games may need the suspend app if thats still a thing, other games may just need PS menu What I was trying to say here about the door opening thing is that that is a unskippable animation as it is loading, no in game pause or nothing, so if u can perform a action which PAUSES the door opening animation, then that will have properly stopped the game along with the timer. That is how u can be sure what u are doing is stopping it. Rest Mode will defo suspend it

Can't do the pause trick on Xbox 😅 unless I'm missing something 🤔

I have a question, on this platinum speeding why don't you go for the magnum? I heard him say he won't get it on this run, could you opt to get it anyway? Or does that ruin your run somehow?

It was at 12:55 , you said you didn't grab the magnum, cause you didn't "need it" , what I was wondering is if one were to instead try to get it, would deviate the game from giving me an A rank and/or add too much time to the speed run? Oh yea just had a quick Google for reminder The Magnum would be a nightmare to get now because you need the Extinguisher and if I remember, it's right back at the beginning, plus it requires you to enter a few rooms with annoying enemies you may have to kill We still make the game as easy as can be without it I carefully plan out these routes, nothing is just done without careful consideration without testing other stuff. If we don't get the Magnum, it's because the risk, time, ammo used or whatever getting it is more of a problem than how helpful the Magnum would have been, basically the risk is not worth it!

There are some RE games where I backtrack quite a bit for a very useful weapon or item, like in RE2remake but here it hurts more than it helps

Got my Resident Evil 1 HD Plat a couple days ago but ive made it to Nosferatu but i cant pass him ive beat him before but im out of practice

I got to the Tyrant, fired the bow round, acid rounds, then he punched me and I fell in the fire. An hour and a half wasted.

I'M Now Going For The Ninetyfour Platinum and i thinking this game Should Deserve That Spot Since my Mother Name's is Veronica and i was born in 94 :)

I have it fully downloaded in my ps4 and seven other games aswell i haven't play there, in my case i better switch console cause my internet takes aaalllmost a whole day or more depending the size GBS Are exagerated these days to download a game... the only thing i treasure on the ps4 is the installed theme of kingdom hearts 3 remind it has icons, sound, pic on the background and music Which PS5 Lack You Can't Customize the PS5 To My Knowledge

First half done Current list of what I fucked up Used up pretty much every single healing herb Used the grenade launcher against tyrant 2 instead of the bow gun due to panic and pretty much started the next part in yellow health So yeah I hope I don't have to play the first part again because whoever designed this game with no proper pause mechanic apparently likes people to have heart attacks while playing Needless to say time to wait a week before attempting part 2 and your guide helped a lot even though I ran into like every single zombie like they were offering free hugs

I normally do a blind playthrough in every RE before going for trophies, but I've heard horror stories about easily screwed over yourself in this if you don't know it. Should I bother with a blind run in this?

Would perhaps be a good idea to do so as the speedrun/A rank could be difficult if ur not familiarise

i Was Testing the infinite herb glitch Is So Easy To Do And Right From The Start. 3 mixed herbs aswell at Start And Now i Want To Know iF you Can use the herb without Going into the menu

The trophy is Under 4 hours but the Infinite Rocket Launcher is Under 4:30 So You Can Always Go for a BLASTING Smitherens Speedrun in my opinion

I feel I routed this pretty well, it's the only guide out there that does all trophies in 1 playthrough, all the other guides for Campaign are only for the ranking, none go for all trophies at once. The route needs changing quite a bit for all trophies due to files need collecting and stuff Doesn't rocket launcher void the best rank??

Followed this guide right up to the tyrant on the plane. Fired the 2 B.O.W rounds and the 7 bow gun arrows and tried to hit the button but tyrant was on Claire immediately before I got the chance. He cornered me and I tried to kill him but I got the retry screen. I don't know what happened. I was so pissed. :( I don't know if I'll get this platinum. Its seem too difficult even with your guide. The requirements to get A rank is rediculous in my opinion.

Thats crap m8, and means u must start all again doesnt it. This worked for me always, and I have seen similar strats work for others. I guess it may have just been 1 of those things where you had the worse possible RNG Dont give up, things dont always go to plan, ya just gotta persevere Way I see it, is you have 2 options now; 1. U begin again doing exact same as me and everything should work out. Ive had him catch up to me before, but found it happened if I wasnt quicl enough, I would say u were a little too slow or pike I say, real bad RNG in that 1 of ur shots missed him and messed it up Or 2. You start again, but this time u save before that boss and try him a few times, make sure u have everything right and it works, then once u are happy, start the run again. Yea this way will waste an hr, but at least u can be sure!!

I have just continued on from retry. It put me back to the place where you use the key card to open the shutters. It seems there is a autosave. I am trying to get back to the plane and try the tyrant again but save before it like you suggest. I think its possible that he moved while I was shooting the arrows so they missed him. He was like on Claire in a flash and I could not react in time as I couldn't see him. Anyway thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm looking forward to RE 8. The demo was amazing. What did you think of it?

I think it's going to be one of the best resident evil games. It reminds me of re4 and I think that's going to get a remake too. It's gone a bit supernatural but there must be a T-virus related reason for it. Another demo Sunday at 6pm. I'll watch your video of the demo when you upload it. I got to the tyrant on the plane and I did it perfectly first time. I ended up finishing the game as well. I might try again for A rank but use the glitch as I want to save as much time as possible because the game runs slower.

I hope so, I still prefer the 3rd person ones though. Even though I lived RE3re, it was underwhelming and I guess it would be difficult for RE8 to be worse ;) And worked perfect for ya, flippin A yea, u should be able to pull off A rank. This is on EU anyway and we still have over an hr to spare!

Bc i tried what you said opened a door and quickly entered the home menu and waited few minutes i came back to the game the door is still in the opening cutscene does that mean its working? Or i just i have to put it into rest mode if it works does it works as well with re1?

Nothing u can do m8 to pause the door opening animation, if u can get that to stop, should mean the timer is paused?? Thats all I can say really, how to identify if its paused, ive not played Xbox for a long time so cant say for sure what may or may not work Do u have rest mode?

@@mattymartini I dont have a xbox, bu t maybe you could try opening some streaming app like Netflix or Amazon Prime, it usually suspends the game youre currently playing. Hope that helps.

I have not yet tried a full run to really check. Will also be a little while until I actually try a full run. Want to do a couple other RE games first. But if you quickly open the guide and open KZread. Then the door animation does stop on a series X. So hopefully that means the timer actually stops to. Again, I can’t verify it yet though. But it is definitely a good sign of hope :-) Unless for whatever reason the Xbox version is different, then the timer should stop by doing that:-) I have left the game unfinished for so long since I have a terrible memory and would not be able to do a full speed run without doing 100’s of runs. So the KZread trick definitely excites me. Will be using this guide when I get to it:-D

If the door animation pauses, then is pauses the timer. The door animation can't be paused just like the timer, that's why I use it as an indication, I pause the door, u pause the timer!

1 Remark: To get S or A rank for Us/eu you HAVE to get Gold Lugers as Chris, without Lugers you will get only B rank (no saves, no 1st aids, Steve/prisoner, and under 4:30, but without Lugers it’s only B rank). Btw great play, I too played on Dreamcast in dinosaurs times 🙋‍♀️😄

I know Official Guides get it wrong mate, Unofficial Guides get it wrong even more though!! Thing is with Official Guides misinformation is louder is because they 'shouldn't' be getting it wrong!! I will always take Official Guides over Unofficial Guides just because they have there info straight from the Devs and have no Plagiarism inside. Still though, as always, I read any guide with an open mind because I don't like to get things wrong and a lot of the times will still make sure for my own peace of mind!!

@@Optinooby I just did Code Veronica with Luger in 3 and half hours. Again B Rank 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I did: 1 safe save when you changes disks, no 1st aids, Steve/prisoner, even obtain magnum as chris. What’s the issue I don’t know. I have 2 points why: 1. I wasn’t in two rooms as Claire: Bathroom/storeroom and didn’t pick up a crossbow. 2. Maybe, I think you can’t obtain A rank with using infinite rocket launcher - it’s only my guess. And the last one I used on Alexia stack of 3 herbs, but I don’t think that any herbs affects. So I don’t know, I think to make a pure test, you have to start clean new game without secret unlocks🤪. But I’m too tired to test it again and again with/without Luger🤓

Why don't we ever mix the herbs? Do they count as a first aid after they're mixed or something?

I should mention it....?? Iirc, I think it's because you can only be instant killed while in Caution or was it Yellow Caution and below? So using one at a time keeps you in Fine and prevents mistakes being made with not healing and getting killed. It's possible a a single heals more than 3 combined as well, can't rembember that though. Most Resi's, a mix is worth more but this could have been different. I think we do use some reds later for a miniboss that sprints at u swiping and u must flee

I can't recall everything, but anything I do here, there is a thought out reason to it, nothing was done on a whim! The route is planned out, it's not a casual route where I just jumped in ;) I allow for the glitch mate, I don't use it, but I advise on it here for anybody who wants to use it when the time comes

Eventually xD Got the 100% A Rank story done in 03:16:00, not sure what that reads as on the NTSC equivalent.......Battle Mode will be where the trouble begins I guess xD Its stupid how we get this inferior version. I have the PS3 HD version from PSNow, its crazy how faster it is isnt it
