Meh, I'm more excited for the RE5 reboot, whenever that is. A faceless character in a non-canon RE game like "Resident Evil: Operators" would be alright. A game were BSAA operatives are exterminating BOWs, or Umbrella/TriCell operatives are collecting samples for experiments. Also Jake needs his own game, he was cool.

Just because there's a new Resident Evil game coming out it doesn't necessarily mean it's RE9. For all we know it could be a remake of RE5, Code Veronica or RE Outbreak.

@Em13331 I never said it's 100% impossible that it's RE9, it might be. But there's a possibility that it's just another remake of an old RE game, and remakes are also new in a way. But i guess we will find out at some point.

We need Jill and Leon together. Although Claire is also underused

I think open world would be a game changer, but will alienate OG RE fans.

I think they could do a Village style game, where there are 4 or so "Lands" inside the "World". RE 8's "Village" portion wasnt really open world, but they could make RE 9 that way. Essentially, you have an open world where you search for these lands that are more linear.

Carlos was such an awesome character that fit so well in this world! If he happened to be the main character of 9 I would be happy!

I bet we'll be getting an open-world style game where you alternate between characters - Chris, Leon, Jill, maybe some new comers, as they explore different parts of this island. Think how you can toggle between Spider-Men in Spider-Man 2, or how you could switch between Rebecca and Billy to go through different areas in RE0. My guess is the story will center around these characters joining forces to track down The Connections, and figure out why the BSAA is using bio-weapons, and honestly, if this wraps everything up, I'd like the final villain to be digital copy of Wesker, maybe trying to be reborn via the megamycete or something.

The ending was expanded in the Village DLC. I don’t think Rosemary would be the protagonist again. Plus she is too overpowered with the powers of the mold and it would be so scary if you are very op

Hot take: it should be Rebecca chambers. She has only been the MC of one game, but is good enough to fight zombies, yet not being on the physical level of Leon or Jill would make for a more terrifying experience

Even though it's going to be most likely Leon, I wish it was Chris. I really like him.

Damn I wish they would do an open world game but that is the biggest undertaking. It might work with games like botw or skyrim etc etc but this is a whole new beast when it comes to RE franchise. If they do go ahead with open world then i hope they take as much time as they need rather than rushing. Hell I'd even monetarily back it.

I think we need another new character since the Winters saga is over. I dont see it being scary if they use old characters who are already battle hardened with fighting zombies and other bioweapons.

I would say, RE4R is a pretty good close middle ground between the Action and Horror. There really wasn't much in RE8 that "scared" me aside from the few jump scares with the stupid dolls, but I felt more like I was playing Underworld Evolution and not an RE game. RE8 loses touch with its base, RE has always been about Bioengineering, and companies doing shady things, and religious cults pretty much doing the same as seen in RE4/RE4R, when the game started getting more "supernatural" I felt like the whole basis for the MOLD got really stretched out and over exaggerated. RE7 was a good attempt, but again I didn't really care for it, played it through like once or twice and haven't touched it since, always opting to just going back and play RE1R instead, and I always go back to RE4 over RE4R or RE8. If RE9 is just going to be a repeat of RE4, RE5, RE4R, and RE8 then I'm not even going to waste my time with it.

capcom should realize by now... Winter's isnt the RE Peak.. its the 2,3,4 remake

I think Leon has the highest chance of being the protagonist for re9 simply because - Re2 Leon, Re4 Leon, Re6 Leon, and then Re8(village) would have been his “re-run” but it didn’t happen. So I think to continue or try to continue his every 2 game appearance he will have to be in re9 in some way or be the protagonist!

Considering that the Revelations games aren't numbered titles, the member of the core four leads who's starred in the fewest main entries of the franchise's chronology to date (Remakes don't count) is Claire. That said, I'd much rather play a returning Jill in a future main R.E., provided the remake design doesn't become her canonical appearance moving forward. Nothing against Sasha Zotova's version, but it made no in-universe sense carrying that over into the Death Island film (which, last I checked, is canonical to the games' timeline) when everyone else's models looked more in line with the current continuity. Even if Julia Voth's time has passed, Capcom could simply redesign Jill again. It's not that hard.

The problem with these company’s/developers is that they make games how THEY want them to be and NOT the consumer/gamers. Keep the game the way it’s always been if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. WE DOMT WANT A 1ST PERSON PERSPECTIVE PLAYING AS LEON ITS DUMB

I 100% AGREE WITH YOU. I prefer third person perspective too! I dont care about being scared out of my mind like what they wanna do with this new game. I just want a great story and fantastic game play like RE1, RE4, RE7 and RE8!!

Re9 should take place in Gary, Indiana

Skinwalkers would be interesting and have some Native American characters come into play. I also want to see wendigos. So, you get the wendigos, skinwalkers, and zombies. You don't know who is a survivor, what are they infected by, and so much more.

Just as other characters is Claire and Carlos cause their also characters we haven't seen even Carlos we don't know what happened to him and haven't seen him since re3
