Old monologues were also memorable and iconic, something often going missing in a few changes in this remake.

@@ProsecutorValentine It's only memorable and iconic because of nostalgia, if those same scene and dialogue were created again by a different game everyone would it's cringy.

I’m shocked by how many players prefer Jack’s knife-fight being a original cutscene instead of an actual bossfight. Like, I love the original cutscene, but the fight being an actual boss leaves more of an impact on players from what I’ve seen.

This is significantly better then the original. It’s realistic and actual knife work and instead of a cutscene it’s a actual fight plus the score is just great

Much less cinematic and the gameplay isn’t realistic I suppose it’s nice if you wanted a slower fight with more dialogue but I still believe the first one had much more personality and effort even if it was a qte

The original is better, cause the cinematic looked cooler and better choreographed, the gameplay fight looks unrealistic and besides in the original you could do the gameplay fight in the second fight anyway. Also knowing you had to stay alert for the qtes or leon would die increased the tension so much more for me when I was a kid.

@@thestrong2401 nah not really. Thought original was way too over the top (even for THAT game)🤣. Prefer the much more grounded and closer to realistic looking knife fight. Not to mention a proper ACTUAL knife fight gameplay - not just some stupid series of quick time events

I was looking for a scene that i thought would be near the end and so i skipped forward and just hear "Not looking good, eh, my friend?" and AGUGH 😭😭

OG's Krauser VA was top tier and also the entrance of the Character and Button-Evade phase was amazing. I have enjoyed this knife fight aswell but the entrance of Krauser should has been just like the OG in my opinion.

Wow they nerfed Leon quite a bit in the remake. In the original he can kick Krauser so hard he sends him spinning on the floor and spitting blood, while here he rolls on the floor on his shoulder like he barely felt the kick, plus original Leon gave Krauser a big wound on his chest during the cinematic fight while in the cinematic fight remake Leon wasn't able to do anything to Krauser lol. Plus I want to point out how it makes no sense that Krauser retreats here cause Luis shot him. Luis was dying and Krauser is a superhuman. The only reason he retreated in the original after the cinematic fight was because he knew he couldn't beat both Leon and Ada together.

One thing would've been cool after the knife fight against Krauser like they made chapter 12 a flashback of Leon and Krauser of the Operation Javier Mission to see why Krauser is angry at the U.S. government and Leon too

Stop talking about nostalgia here. This may be more realistic but original scene stiil sends chills down my spine. The acting, voices, dialogues, Matrix style fight. It was way better. "The original is better" the original had big sweepy motions and lots of slow motion. in this fight: 0 slow motion, their feet barely move, the knives aren't clashing like swords but instead are actually trying to stab each other. both are great. one plays like an anime fight, the other is more grounded... and u ACTUALLY fight Krauser in the remake

I loved the cutscene in the original, but personally I think having it be an actual boss fight is way better. Makes the player fully feel like they have to pay attention to Jack, and the satisfaction I got when I perfect parried and kicked him was amazing and is something I don’t think a cutscene could have done as well. Can’t imagine how insane the fight is going to be in VR, as if the parrying in the VR Version works the way it looks like it does in the trailer, players are straight up going to feel like they are actually in a knife fight!

The fight between Leon and Krauser in the original much better and the characters designed better.
