I love how in this Remake Leon is more humanized than the original, he’s suffering something like a PTSD because of Raccoon City and his tired gaze reflects that. Reminds me of the war veterans.

It’s a good thing they kept the original’s vibe with it since Leon has no actual panic attacks that indicate post traumatic stress in the remake either. He’s a lot more boring now

It's a small change, but the fact Leon asks the first ganado his question in Spanish is such a nice change. Still funny how he just lets himself in though 😂

In the original, the story intro only told what has happened after the events of RE2. A bit of some flashbacks. In the remake, you get to learn Leon’s background story. Both during RE2 and after. Very interesting, because we dont really know that deep about Leon and they did a great job explaining. Its also interesting that it was also Krauser who trained Leon during that time too.

I like how Leon's entire story after RE2 spawns from a single screen in the Epilogue files from OG RE3. They really ran with it too. Decent amount of attention to small details too, especially for the time period. Krauser wears desert tiger camo. Leon has a USP. Their knives in the original are similar and look like hossom or mercworx knives.

Did you play Darkside Chronicles? That came out in 2009. It was like a softcore remake of RE2 but also showed how Leon was recruited into the government and met Krauser. He even mentions it in this Remake. Operation Javier

Hopefully it’s brought up again.

Unlike the original intro from 2005, this makes me feel like if i was watching the intro of a Resident Evil movie based on the whole videogame.

It was his very first day of work and it was destruction, losing people as in unable to save lives. For a cop and a hero it can be difficult to accept. Whether it's saving Ada despite her lies, the people in city, and many more.

I really hope they follow through with a RE6 remake and the added depth of Leon being forced into this kind of "super bioterrorist agent" life

The "story" has always been relatively the same. Leon met Marvin in the original RE2, just as he did in the RE2 Remake, they are just going a little more in detail with Leon's training to become a Agent, and what he dealt with in Racoon City. Dealing with the trauma and pain from what he saw.

Capcom said that each first run in RE2 Remake was canon in its own right (like some parallel universe) and it was like "another way of telling the events of the original games", but does not create a new canon. So for this retelling of the events and probably for a better character development for Leon, he meets Marvin in the RPD and has that first interaction with him. Its the same history with another p.o.v. basically. Thats what i think, or maybe its as simple as that for this "timeline" in the Remakes, Leon A is the right way.

Pretty much yes, this cutscene alone just re-wrote the RE2 Canon, no matter what the devs said back then, thanks to this Cutscene, Leon A is now The Canon version.

Glad Capcom knew that RE4 was and always be the GOAT in the franchise... Can't to see what will happen to this game after launch and imagine the DLC's they added to this if ever.

The Remake is really done well. But a part of me also misses the OG RE4 Leon lol. The OG portrayed Leon as a badass, chill veteran for the most part , even tho it was like Leon's second big assignment after Raccoon City.

I grew up on darkside chronicles and re4. For any one who dosent know darkside chronicles is a wii arcade shooter game that shows Leon and Krause when they used to work together and it also shows re2 events. I forgot what else since I played it years ago.

I'm pretty sure it'll be a DLC. The trailer has them mentioning their time during Operation Javier and this flashback cutscene further hints at it with their training and "missions". It would be a major major missed opportunity if they don't at least make it into a DLC
