    There's one file in RE3 that always gave me chills, the one where they talk about how the factory was disguised as a deserted building, and sometimes curious people are going to wander in, if that happens they should be given the choice of death right then and there or to be experimented on(paraphrased). That's some dark shit if you picture that being real

    I'm hoping nemesis vs. Nicolai Ginovaef face off is fully rendered and violently gross, like tentacle down his throat to stop his gloating choking him while tightening his grip on his neck both around the outside and down his throat, other tentacles grasping his limbs to keep him from struggling a low guttural snarl from nemesis behind him as the limb attached to the tentacle down and around his throat are yanked violently like pulling a rip cord snapping his neck and twisting his head clean around the scene ending with nemesis climbing up into the ceiling dragging Nicolai's limp body up after him before the tentacles carrying him let go leaving him hanging in the ceiling dripping blood on the floor, fully experiencing and explaining that scene jill encounters before the waste disposal fight with nemesis. But, maybe that's just me wanting that scene to be that intense.

    Mastering dodging is key for rescuing all hostages and getting an A Rank in The Mercenaries as Nicholai, since he's armed with only a handgun and knife. I think its because the dodge and Nemesis wasn't implemented well. Nemesis moves around like a monster from the first DMC, not like a classic RE enemy. Enemies like him and the Bandersnatch from Code Veronica started to really show people the limitations of the enemies designed to fit the fixed camera. If certain enemies don't behave well with the camera (hitting repeated from offscreen when entering a room, running around like Sonic the Hedgehog, or in general having humanoid zombies that are more dexterous than your protags) it just makes the experience more frustrating. Also the unnecessary backtracking didn't help. Need to open a door? Either the key is right next to the door (why is this door even locked?) or even worse the key is back on the other half of the map, granting you access to a switch that opens the door where you found the key, giving you an item that solves a puzzle back at the switch. Neither are particularly organic forms of progression in contrast to RE1 and RE2 in which you travel through area A, solve a puzzle in area B, which leads to a new area C and backtracking through the mansion in only done to open new rooms, wings, and areas with keys that open multiple different doors rather than just one door.

  • @EpsilonChurchRVB

    @EpsilonChurchRVB

    5 жыл бұрын

    AngryCosmonaut I still don't get why would people not like RE3. The dodge mechanics was fine and even then, some people complained about the dodge mechanics being implemented to the game in the first place, not the way how it was implemented. Imo, it's as balanced as it could get for a PS1 game. Nemesis was implemented well enough and his movements in terms of speed and attacks, it's what makes him more frightening than any monster in the RE series, even to this day. Ustanak is the closest thing to Nemesis that we've got so far, but still doesn't really surpass with what made Nemesis so unique to the franchise. The backtracking of the game wasn't even a problem. If anything, it did it just right and was more necessary since you're literally exploring an ENTIRE CITY! Not to mention that the exploration was still limited to the Uptown and Downtown areas of the city, including a few other locations beyond the Clock Tower, which was imo, the best location in the original trilogy. Exploring one single location in an entire city really didn't make sense to me when it came to RE2 as the developers still limited themselves with exploring one location, similar to the enclosed environment from RE1, but RE1's was still excusable since the mansion took place in a secluded forest. Hopefully, RE2 Remake does the game some justice in its setting. If you want to blame the backtracking on something, you're more than welcome to blame it to RE0, since that game's backtracking doesn't even count to no more than 30% of key items that you need to backtrack for. 70% of the whole thing was mostly about backtracking due to inventory management if anything and gets even worse towards the end of the game, but overall, it was still a great game for what it really was.

    Love the series you've created. I love how you break down the plot so well; your delivery is pretty much flawless and speaks to your love of the franchise. I hope you'll do more covering the future games, but I get the feeling that like myself, you are a huge fan of the initial Raccoon City lore (Operation Raccoon City is my guilty pleasure!). Would you ever consider doing something similar like this for the book series by S.D. Perry? I've been with the games since I was like 5, but the book series is what really got me interested in the lore behind the games as a young child, which is why I adore the Raccoon City saga. Even though they aren't exactly cannon, I think the books do a sweet job covering the events that happen behind the scenes during the games, like Ada's quest for the G-Virus, her "redemption" and Nikolai's ruthless extermination of his teammates and theft of their combat data during Operation Watchdog. I also think the author gives the reader a nice good look into the characters' heads during what would be the "gameplay" which in the game is essentially long stretches of walking/running punctuated by the odd firefight and conversation here or there, but in the books we get a lot of detail about what state of mind the characters are in, how they feel in relation to the other characters they've met, how they're reacting mentally to the horrible events taking place around them, etc.. It's just dope and really added a lot of depth to this series. I think it's just a shame she didn't continue past Code: Veronica! Anyways, sorry for the long rant (and thanks, if you bothered reading this far! I have so much more to say about this video alone!) but watching your video series really made it feel like I was playing the games and watching them unfold in front of me again for the very first time and I have to thank you for that.

    Another great work, RE3 is one of my favourite games, it´s a mix between a zombi survival horror and escape from a monster or invincible enemy like in a slasher-horror film (Jason Vorhees for example) plus is you narrate it very well and in a fluid way. Fun Fact: Coincidentally in Silent Hill 3 there is also a girl as the main character, exactly as in the Resident Evil 3, and while there is no giant monster chasing you through the corridors of Brookhaven Hospital, the story links to many of the things that happened in Silent Hill one. I´m waiting to the next video Sue :)

    23:44 "Cowards!" I loved this review, Suzi! And now with RE 3 Remake if the devs thought it was better to make it shorter... (unforgettable that they forgot clock tower stage. Instead of that: Nemmy's doggy walk). I agree the park stage is the slowest part of RE 3: Nemesis, I played several times (just to get infinite ammo or weapons in "The Mercenaries" minigame and the whole epilogues). RE 3 Nemesis has a special meaning for me. Thanks!!!

    This is my top 3 favorite RE games. The ending sequence as the missile heads towards Raccoon City and it shows the different buildings that you were just in, it feels bittersweet as some of those settings felt like characters themselves and it was sad seeing them about to get destroyed. Thank you so much for putting together this video.

    Man I can't get over how nostalgic this game is to me. I was like a 7 years old little kid watching my teen sisters and cousins play this together at times and it would make me so curious to play it myself one day (of course I was WAY too young back then.) I was allowed to play Tomb Raider 2 tho. However I saw quite some bits and cutscenes of this back then and I think I was never more excited to play a game like I was with this one when not many years later, I got to finally play it myself, explore all the locations of the game, that I saw when my sisters were playing by myself and just experience the whole thing. ...until Nemesis jumped through that window in the RPD after what felt like endless hours of gameplay and me thinking I had reached pretty far in the game, lol, and I let a big monster scream out and wasn't allowed to play any further (understandably)...But then again started playing it just couple more years later. Was I too young and did the games jumpscares and the sheer tension that NEMESIS gives one unsettle me for a long time? Yes it surely did, but just because of the nice memories and nostalgia of this game, it was absolutely worth it. ^^ Thank you so much for making this video. It made me travel through all my memories of the game again. :)

    Considering how Mr X looks and feels more scary in the remake of 2, it would interesting to see how they can improve Nemesis if they do remake Resident Evil 3. Something akin to the stealth mechanics from Outlast or Alien Isolation. Where you sneak around Nemesis, throw bricks or cans to distract him, or even lay traps to slow him down. Also the remake needs to remove the water sample puzzle.

    Making RE3 slow? Naaah, make it even more action-y. After all, they managed to change horrible RE2 combat mechanics into RE4-like fun in remake, adding RE3's gunpowder and quick-turn, at least 3's remake should keep frame-input dodging, frantic running around, and shooting exploding stuff. Also, branching paths. Hope they won't screw up those like they ruined B scenarios.

    The water sample one was super annoying in my first playthrough but I just recently played RE3 and it's actually pretty simple to beat it. You just have to, you know, think a bit? Lol. To me that is a puzzle done right, the one with the clocks was stupid tho

It was nice to experience it again briefly without Nemesis giving me a mini heart attack every few minutes, and nice to listen to someone who shares my thoughts on my favorite video game series as well. Oh and I loved the use of the piano ending theme as your outro music =D no question my favorite end theme from any RE game.

    I cant believe that there is someone out there who shares this amount of passion for RE like I do. I am a generation of 88 and I grew up playng games like resident evil, dino crisis, silent hill... Always thinking there must be something odd about me cuz of how much i like these horror titles. But these games are so dear to my hearth and special that i cant tell you how many memories they hold from when i was growing up. Things were so different back then. Video games made you really turn your brain on and think. You didn't had youtube to look up how to solve a puzzle x) And some of us, if not most of us from back then, acctualy developed useful life skills as a result. Thank you for making these videos for all of us. I know I enjoy them so much... Also, you have an extremley attractive voice so...
