Oddly enough, the missile destroying the city is actually my favorite scene. It's very total and gives a complete sense of finality.

it seems that the game, were called Last Escape in Japan, meant to be a finale. But another team disagrees and developed Code Veronica. As well as how the additional character endings are tacked to make it that there's continuation.

@@L0rpGaming Thanks for clearing it up because it was the past and there was conflicting accounts on how RE3 and Code Veronica were meant to be. Seen CV and i think RE3 is still more memorable because RE3 is set in the city players know while CV tries to be Metal Gear Solid with it being set in a remote island military facility.

@@L0rpGaming I remember hearing, before it's release that it was meant to be set in space but capcom changed their mind at the last minute.

The RE3 ending and the soundtrack of Unfortunate Turn of Events hits so much harder when you've played the original trilogy back to back nonstop and you know just how many tiny things had to go wrong for Raccoon City to be wiped out. Just the greed of a few, not even the entirety of Umbrella, caused a city of over 100,000 to be completely destroyed. Rest in Peace citizens of Raccoon City.

I remembering when I first saw ending of this game and chills it gave me... Still feel the same after 20 years.

The "congrats u beat Nemmy and finished the og trilogy" feel definitely hits super hard 😢

the destruction of Racoon City here felt more impactful and meaningful than it did in the remake, because in these game it was really shown how desperate Jill and Carlos are finding ways to get out of Racoon City, desperately, while in the remake it's more about making the cure, Nemesis and Nicolai, the missile attack is the last thing they have to worry about.

I mean, it was pretty meaningful that Jill tried to get a cure. She was crushed when it was destroyed. I like that she didn't give up until it was too late.

This scene will always be the Saddest for me. You can imagine what were the remaining people thought while hiding on their barricaded homes hoping for rescue but instead got wiped out from the bacillus... RIP to all the civilians and RIP Raccoon City.

Hey, did anyone else ever wonder if there were one or a few people who were actually able to hold out somewhere, expecting help to arrive at some point? Imagine them looking out their window (or whatever) only to see a missile being detonated... (I'm reading too much into this I know lol.) But really... just imagine the thoughts that must be going through their heads while watching the missile detonate, after they managed to survive the incident.

Anyone that was in the city still alive when the missile was detonated is no more after it went off. If there's still a few lucky ones like Jill who made it out, it's still a massive sad sight to see as their homes and everything they've built has been destroyed, and the true reason for such a city being in the state it was, was due to people who messed with biochemistry that alters and changes people, and it caused a pandemic that the US govt, had to step in and take care of things.

Actually in the bad ending of Resident Evil Outbreak, stage: "Decisions Decisions" if you play as George and you have in your team Cindy, you have to get infected to get the bad ending and they will stay in the city until the missile strikes the town, this happens too if you choose Yoko and your team has Alyssa

The music in the scene is amazing. I love the way it is shot too, seeing all of the places that we've visited like the RPD and the Clock Tower and more getting obliterated. Can't wait to see this seen in the new RE3, hopefully it is just as good!

When this game first came out, I thought this was going to be the last Resident Evil at the time, because of the way it ended. Then I thought the same way about Resident Evil 5, because of Wesker's death. At least they still keep making more Resident Evil games.

They didn't even have this final goodbye to the people of Racoon City in the remake. My God they F*cked that game up.

Ending song still holds up and gives me chills to this very day.

Omg!! When I firat heard the end credits as a kid, I literally cheered!! This is still my favourite RE game! Shame the remake didn't live up to the original, glad they kept the best sounds in it even if they botched the storyline. Thanks for uploading this!

@@AlienGenotype i think what he meant its the details about the explosion on the remake is just a view from top and boom nothing else in the classic u see all the parts u have been throught and the buildings getting destroyed in a close-up scene it is much more rewarding than the generic scence on remake the zombies and cars go flying and all that its just way better

I wasn't surprised with the new ending , by that point the bar was set pretty low . What i was surprised to see though was the generic stock footage riot intro in the place of the awesome original intro that even the film adaptation recreated ....

@@vaniog29 I was disappointed that berry haven't come and pick you up. Yes in the original version the other ending is berry come and rescue you.

With the destruction of Raccoon City, came the destruction of Nemesis as well. Sure, it may have already been dead after its final battle with Jill, but knowing how resilient it was I wouldn't be surprised if it were somehow inching around in the room it was fought in as Jill left it. In either case, Nemesis is gone, and even as someone who hasn't played (but has seen MUCH of) Resident Evil before, that's a bloody relief. Imagine if it lived; someone could've captured and studied it to make more Nemeses, or worse...

​@@baronluigi2738I always compare RE2 to be Terminator 2 judgement day and RE3 to be Terminator 3 Rise of the machines. Even thou RE3 is waay better than what became of Terminator 3. RE3 Nemesis never fully sway away from what RE2 was, just more action pack and more intense.

For me, the Resident Evil Story End right here. Of course I liked the Remake Versions of 2 and 3, besides I dislike the intro of the Remake of 3. I just prefer the classic one that should be remade for the Remake, but I think this is the end of the Story. I just wish to see a Remake of the Resident Evil 0 and 1 with the same quality of the Remake of 2 and 3. Resident Evil bring to me a lot of memories and the full Story is actually more complex than people think. Maybe one day, they can make a definitive version starting in the story of Resident Evil 0 and make us players to play with all the characters until the end of Raccoon City on 3. Thanks Capcom for these amazing games.

Yes re1 to 3 were the best, 3 being my favourite, although I do have a soft spot for re6 and I loved the streets of racoon city and seeing the police station again after years in operation racoon city, it was a very nice surprise and nostalgic, they made that police station look very close to the one in the old games, But I was disappointed because I couldn't explore it cause the doors were all blocked

Better ending than that of RE3 remake. Here they show the buildings explode just like in Terminator 2, you are emotionally attached to the city, the music is better. And what do we get in the Remake? A helicopter shaking fart.

I have been defending than some scenes or events of the remake are better than the OG, like how I like new Mikhail's death better than old one, or how I like zombie Brad better in this one than OG and a couple more. But this one right here, they were downright lazy with the new one. OG shows you the zombie infested city, the locations the devs knew players were attached to (RPD, clock tower) and a closer look at the explotion from inside the city, its more emotional. New one is just...too fast and simple. Cant defend that.

@@alexzavod Sort of my exact feelings, althought for me the game lost its charm after the hospital. I really enjoyed the Carlos sections, specially the hospital, it was expanded, creepy and very eerie. I even liked the RE4 cabin section, causr it made me feel that the city was indeed overan by zombies and some big shit was going down. But then after, there was rarely any enemies for Jill and the NEST 2 was almost empty, not to mention the two last boss fights are back to back wich is kinda tiring, and lazy. Its like the devs put more effort into the first half or 2/3 of the game, but then the deadline was getting close and they rushed the last sections.

RE3: Nemesis was originally planned to be the spin-off or continuation of RE2 and Code: Veronica was intended to be Resident Evil 3….. but Sony had a deal at the time that all main entries were to be originally released on PlayStation first.

This ending is only when you at the bridge choosing your choice to push the nemesis down and Nikolai was killed by nemesis before the nemesis battle at the treatment room.

This is where Resident Evil ended. The other games are nothing compared to the classic PS1 RE games.

Watching 👀 this in 2022 with the future uncertain. A dark day in human history, possibly the darkest. A terrifying consequence. Bleak is the day, an eternal winters night. Hope must be kindled.

he he he... good times thoses.... i can't remember how many times i spend awake late at night just to attempt finish this game. the water sample puzzle was incredbly hard (thanks cheatcc.com, for help me). but.... despite be the most scary RE ever created ( because, i don't know you, but for me, it's creepy be hunted by nemesis, and even worst when he use a rocket launcher and even more worst when he becomes uglyiest after the clock tower. but still, was good times....

1:08 - SUCH a missed opportunity that they didn't update this scene in the remake. They could've then had a news vignette of Umbrella getting raked through the coals by global governments and the public, along with vigils for Racoon City. It would've had 10x the impact the remake's ending did. It's amazing that they made a literal nuking seem so insignificant in the end.

Did you know that this ending was based in the "end of Evangelion".

If this happens in real life I hope a group of heroes will rise to protect us like in the games, the entire RE universe gives me chills down my spine, I be terrified if this did happen in our world

At that point in the story, Jill was pissed at umbrella for what they did and she decided to stop them once and for all. I find it ironic that Leon said that it was up to them to finish umbrella (paraphrasing), yet it was Jill and Chris who were responsible ( umbrella chronicles) . I guess changing development teams really gave Resident evil consistency issues over the years.

This is the alternate ending. It's not the official. You only get it if you choose to knock Nemesis off the bridge before the water treatment plant.
