More like world record for Leon A. smh It's not finished till you beat Claire B Or if you beat Claire A you have to beat Leon B before you can say that the game is " Finished" still impressed but feel like the title is miss leading.

I did something similar with Legend of Dragoon, I didn't know what "additions" were and I literally beat about half the game with only the first strike of each addition. I remember I would smash X and thought it was just luck when a second hit would land. My mind was blown away when I finally figured it out!

You can tell by the way he smashing the key he means business 😂

Uploader probably had "THE SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE HAS BEEN INITIATED. THIS PROCESS CANNOT BE ABORTED" playing on headphones the whole time to stay in the zone.

This game scared the heck out of me when I was 12. Amazing game.

When I saw him move one of the statues then leave the room, only to move the other on the way back in order to save 0.1 of a second I knew he was legit, how do speedrunners even think of this stuff? It’s very impressive

Well, technically, it is discovered by others not recording their runs for the world wide web. Speed runners get wind of it and apply it. Or, they simply rationalize and detail the best way to save time. Even up to saving a milliseconds of time.

It's kinda cool how you can literally avoid almost every enemy in the game and still pass it without having to glitch or break the game. I'm gonna play this game tomorrow and use the same strategy as this guy.

Those clicking sounds are everything, I love it! Great run! I remember playing this as a kid on the Nintendo 64. Oh the nostalgia..

I couldn’t help but laugh every time the mouse gets clicked 1,000x when entering a door, it’s like “HURRY THE F UP THERE ARE FN MONSTERS OUTSIDE!! AHHHHHHH!” *door creeks open*

Complex fighting games like Tekken on a keyboard is tough. Resident Evil 2 on a keyboard is easy.

My child hood right here, I remember as a kid being obsessed with this game just completing it over and over again. When I found out about unlocking hunk, I knew I could complete it in under 3 hours with only 3 saves and no aid sprays. Can't wait for the remake.

11:28 I managed to get to this point in the old 10 minute demo on PS1 after a lot of practice. I always wondered how much of the game was actually on the demo since there didn't seem to be an end point like the RE2 remake demo.

I watched the whole video since I haven't seen/played RE2 since it nearly launched originally on PS1. This is the best way to recap the game since you beat it so fast, lol. Very awesome though and congrats on the record!

Brother was so freaking happy at the end, I couldn't help but smile. This is a couple years ago, so I don't know if the record stands, but that was impressive!

Heard record was broken by 4secs. But it took a long time tho to break it. But this is damn well impressive

rewatching this I remembered how - in a certain way - this game is incredibly bonkers. I mean all those hidden passages and special keys made a certain grade of sense in the mansion, but in the police headquarter it is just ridiculous.

mrheytino I think n64 came out around the same time or a lil later port. But Gamecube version had better graphics and optional controller layouts don't quote me tho. Now that's a remake imo

21.20-22.40 How on earth did he do that? That's some amazing skill right there, dodging all those enemies. Amazing memory and skill to complete this scenario in that time. Speedrunning games takes such dedication, knocking off fractions of seconds from previous attempts and watching how other players did their runs, then improving it. Grats to anybody who even gets close to these times.

this speedrun is like Leon is just running across his backyard. The whole racoon city is his house.

This is incredible and the reaction at the end is awesome.

Every sound they use for this game is 10/10 even footsteps are satisfying

Used to play this game a lot. Even though I was never a speed runner, I never died after playing it all the time as a child through trial and error in 1998. 14 years later, a friend was playing this on his gamecube. He challenged me to play. Loser gives up the controller. Finished both scenarios on hard in a single sitting

The last time I tried speedrunning a game, I gave up when I knew I was like 30 minutes behind my original goal. I don't think speedrunning is my thing. Doing certain requirements to beat a certain game is more of my thing than rushing through everything with patience that I rarely have xD

That... was beautiful.

I always feel that using the Japanese versions was a bit of a cop out. By default they are much lower difficulty with bosses dying faster, and enemy placement is changed to make bombing through areas much easier. For those reasons I get why the choose the Japanese but I'd like to see someone try the US or PAL versions.

oh hey! it's been such a long, long time pal! i am doing fine, i completely forgot how to do claire a though, and used to speedrun that, i still speedrun leon A and i did a practice run and i can easily thrash my pb. my aim to get sub 50. however on my last run i did a silly mistake where i shoot at birkin and the bullets don't hit, (you can avoid this by releasing aim, then pressing aim so it locks on to him) that caused a fail. how are you doing man?

ada's theme really takes me back in time

As a kid..raccoon city was soo grimey dirty and low down looking..the draw distance was PERFECT..showed some but left enough out to induce some thought into the imagination as to what the heck is just beyond that gate..that alley..behind that building..the moans and small instrumentals made it just perfect imo

I remember dying so much at the begining bit trying to figure out the controls but i got the hang of it

Damn, he tapping like crazy..

and now this game gets a whole new reboot

Wow they did chage alot of things on the remake like the ammo store was right in the beginning. I guess I have to play this on ps1 now.
