For close to six decades, Bihar has been plagued with poor and adequate infrastructure. However, over the last few years, the state has initiated its journey towards infrastructure development.
Initiatives taken by the government of Bihar, supported by the central government, have helped the state develop a network of different modes of transportation - road, rail and inland waterways.
Nonetheless, Bihar’s endeavours to enhance its connectivity and logistics fall short of optimal standards and lag behind those of other states, notably its immediate neighbour, Uttar Pradesh.
The road connectivity between north and south Bihar is expected to improve further with 22 bridges over river Ganga either ready or to be made ready over the next five years.
Apart from this GANGA PATH a true landmark in the city of Patna and the pride of Bihar, the Gangapath Project is a high-speed corridor extending along the banks of River Ganga. This prestigious project - from Digha to Didarganj - is spread over 21.5 kms of which, the road is 10.5 kms and the elevated structure is 11 km. This corridor has been designed to provide connectivity between western and eastern Patna, while reducing the travel time from 60 minutes to just 15 minutes.
This 4-lane elevated structure consists of 222 spans of 50 meters each and 221 circular piers of approx. 17 meters height. It passes right under the Mahatma Setu Bridge leaving enough vehicular clearance between the two bridges.

I was not aware that sooo much infrastructure development taking place in Bihar. I always thought Bihar lacks political will to bring state to the level of main stream states of India. Most of the Biharis comes to the south in search of Job. They are very hardworking nicely behaved only black mark among Biharis is their pan spitting evey where which brought Bihar bad name.
