Hi all, Here I am explaining how to reset your forgotten Ubuntu password. You can easily Reset Ubuntu Password in 3 Minutes.
If you forgot your user password on Ubuntu, don’t worry. You can reset an Ubuntu password easily. This guide explains an easy method for changing the root password on Ubuntu.

This didnt work for me .. it asked me for my Root password right away once I selected Root. 😞

Please help.. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and followed everything you demonstrated. In fact it said that I updated my password successfully. Then I exited the recovery mode and did a normal reboot. At the CNC "Password" prompt I entered my new password and got the response, "Invalid password, please try again" I then went back and did the entire procedure again and it still said it was invalid. Unfortunately this is time critical for me. Note: my Linux OS had previously been working great, it's just a situation where I forgot my password and had not written it down. THANK YOU for your help sir.
I did notice that after I entered "ls /home" I got back "cnc" in blue and then the next line I got the prompt and then I entered "passwd cnc" then I hit the enter key and got back, "Enter new UNIX password:" which is not what I saw in your demonstration. Your example just said on that line, "New password:" So this might be a clue as to what's going on..

i have reset the password successfully but it is not working on login screen
On 16.04 I can’t get into grub.

When U know what linux is, you know that you will disable the root or you set a syrong password for it. Of course this tutorial is for those who never set a password for root, not knowing that this user exists by default:)

Should give some work to brain as well. Even i changed the password by looking into the video, i did it.
When I boot to grub it won’t give me any of these options.
