In this video, Simon focuses on key topics in research integrity, research ethics and governance and culture. It is aimed at those early in their careers, those with responsibilities for leading and training researchers, and those looking for a refresher on these important issues.
Simon Kolstoe is an academic with a focus on the role of ethics committees and governance structures in promoting research integrity. He chairs ethics committees for the Health Research Authority, UK Health Security Agency and UK Ministry of Defence. Prior to moving into Bioethics he was a post-doctoral research fellow at UCL Medical School, and then Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry at Portsmouth University where he received a BBSRC new investigators project grant. Following further degrees in Philosophy and Research Ethics, he moved to a Senior Lectureship in Evidence Based Healthcare in 2017, and then Reader in Bioethics as of 2021.
