My absolute favorite book from this series is Blood promise (4th book) where Dimitri get turned Strigoi and Rose leaves Lissa and choose Dimitri 😭😍. This is bring up so much memories! Love this series! I looove demetri and rose is a great character. She got so much hate for being “oh I’m so beautiful “ but it was refreshing because too many characters try to be “humble” but there’s a fine line between humble and irritatingly self conscious. It’s annoying that people are intimidated by good self esteem self love

I re-read this series probably four times over the past decade. I remember it being the second vampire series I picked up after reading twilight, and I instantly fell in love with it! Now when I'm feeling really nostalgic I pull out the graphic novels (which are amazing and I'm so disappointed that they discontinued them after book 3). I definitely recommend for you to check them out if you haven't already! The artist captured the characters so well, like way better than the movie did. Anyways, I cant wait for you to do a reading vlog about Frostbite! :)

Movie Dmitiri is really...warm and inviting compared to book Dmitris quiet intimidation factor. It wasnt just the way the actor looked, it was also the vibe.

This was fun. I love reading old favourites and getting that nostalgia all over again. I say keep reading and vlogging.

Okay so you inspired me to read Vampire Academy for the first time and I just finished it! It was so cute and fun, I loved Lissa and Christian and can't wait to read Frostbite!! Loved watching the vlog and seeing your reactions too :)

I need to reread Vampire Academy series too! I need to reread it and then buy the Bloodlines series and read them but it's a lot to commit to, and it's why I haven't read it yet since I first read it. I'd love to see a vlog of you reading Frostbite! Especially if it encourages me to do the same 😂😂

Its really cool to see how you talk about a book you've already read before (even the comparisons to the movie) as you read it. And it helps that I've reread the series like a half a dozen times, so I completely understand everything you are talking about. You should do more of these vlogs with older books or books you are rereading. It's also fun to see what you have to say about specific parts (like the foreshadowing) that construct the book that you like, seeing it critiqued from a creators perspective. Your summaries of books are great, but seeing the bits and pieces as you read it and what you like and dont like from that particular perspective is enlightening. Oh and i remember rereading the first book and being a bit...offput by the characters. They grow so much from that time, that sometimes its hard to go back fo the first book and have to deal with that bullshit. Like you said you hated Lyssa, I was constantly frustrated by her. They were so close, but as soon as she goes back to school she becomes basically an icey/needy bitch and complete shuts Rose out. Did Rose handle that well? Not at all, but Lyssa just completely and suddenly shuts her out and there was no excuse for that flip flop in treatment. Thank gawd for Christian. And man that relationship! It's rare that I like a character that the MC doesnt, but I did, and I think that was the authora intent, and she did a great job with that. I'm curious what your thoughts would be on the Succubus Blues series. (It heavily parallels the love arc in Vampire Academy, has a lot of smut in the first two books and then that's gone. Its very adult paranormal romance, but the MC is kind of sulky and annoying at times)

I love VA always will. Yes, I can say it has situations and scenes that are problematic, but I will always love it. I got curious and wanted to know when was the first time I read it. I read it for the first time almost 10 years ago. Love this vlog. Can’t wait for Frostbite.

I love that Vampire Academy pretty much lives up to the fun/chill YA book it’s always been in my head. Vlog frostbite, that’s my fave VA book.

Yessss I'm in the middle of a VA reread and am loving them!! The second and third book repeat information given in the first book which really annoyed me but now I'll probably just skim over those parts haha. Like you, I'm so pleasantly surprised that I still love it as an adult

this vlog was all I needed to give me the encouragement to reread it. I've been trying to find something to read but I want something quick and funny and with some romance and this is a PERFECT pick. I was literally fangirling with you in every clip haha and ok, the actors for the movie were pretty good ( I loved Zoey as Rose) but the script was trash. But I also appreciate that the movie didn't take itself too seriously. That's what hooked me into the books. Aaaaaah this was fun to watch! Do the rest of the series!! :D

I remember when the movie came out, a girl I was in school with was obsessed with the movie and claimed to have read the books. I was so excited by that because I was a shy book nerd and here was someone else in my small town who had read and loved the books. I finally work up the courage to talk to her about them, ready to find out another person's thoughts on this series (had no idea of the existence of goodreads) and she basically brushes the books away saying she tried to read the first book but didn't like it as much as the movie. My heart was broken and this memory is always connected when I think of this series. XD

you should totally do vlogs when you read the rest of the books!

❤❤❤❤❤❤ this vlog is what i didn't even know i wanted and more ❤❤❤❤❤❤ i kinda find it sad that when i refer to VA, i mostly remember the movie, even though it didn't even come close to how good the book is...i mean the books are soo good and that movie was in my opinion mostly annoying and as you said inconsistent with the book (the only thing i actually liked about it is the foreshadowing to shadow kiss) do you also love the feeling when you reread a favourite book and remember so many details you totally forgot about? that's one of the reasons i've been wanting to reread the series (and probably bloodlines as well), and i'm finally going to read it i am totally down for more spoilery VA vlogs ❤❤❤

I tried some spicy avocado hummus recently too, and it was soo good 🙌🏼 I loved The Vampire Academy series, and I’ve been trying to read Bloodlines for years but for some reason I never pick it up.

The nostalgic awesomeness is when I reread HoN, the writing is not good but I remember loving the plot and the characters so much!!!

I've been thinking about rereading but a puppy I had years ago ate my first book. Ugh. I havent read it in probably 7-8 years also. I LOVED* it though. I wonder how I would feel about it now at almost 26.

I love this books! I have reread them this summer and my favourit is book3 close followed by book 1. I kind of hated the movie. And I didn't really care for Lissa. I'm so glad you reread them!!

I've been debating on rereading these books it's kind of the only series I'm interested in at the moment. I had all the books at one point and reread them two or three times. I try to read the Spin off story but it had been too long since I'd first got into the world.

I just re read VA/Bloodlines last year for the first time in like 5 years, and I loved it just as much as I did the first time! I definitely prefer VA over Bloodlines though 🙊

Bloodlines was soooo much better imo. And ugh, already remembering soul crushing sorrow I felt in Frostbite :(

also in the first book I didn’t like Rose or Lissa. Rose started growing on me in the second book and now I love her, but I definitely don’t like Lissa as much.

I read the books when I was 17 (loved them, favourites) reread at 30.. enjoyed it for nostalgia sake but it didn't age well for me.

I didn't like the movie. My friends and I read the books when they were coming out. And I liked them well enough at the time. I've read them several times since and have some big dislikes with them and some likes. I actually dislike Rose, lol. But I loved Lissa and Christian. The second and third narrators of the series are way better than the first one lol

I haven't read Vampire Academy since 2011 when I was in middle school! I loved those books so much. Now i really want to reread them to see if I still like it. Shadow Kiss was my favorite book in the series from what I can remember. I haven't seen the movie since it came out but I know I hate it. I hated it the second I heard Lissa talk in a British accent. For some reason I really couldn't stand Lissa in the movie.

I think I hated Lissa because she is a useless angsty teen used for the plot only, and she was juxtaposed by such a strong character of Rose. Always sooking. She has fair reason but it goes on for the whole series.
