    It really does help to understand why you cannot offset active income with passive losses. I remember the Florida real estate crash as a Florida commercial lender tax in 1986. Your video helps me put that event together with todays passive/ active income buckets. History is important. Thank you.

    Very good explanations, and the history was helpful in getting this to stick in my memory. The explanations were repeated several times each though, too much. And as a passive-only investor currently, I would like to hear examples of how much of a difference it could make for me to bother to become non-passive. I.e. by becoming a real estate professional and materially participating, how much is that potentially worth in tax deductions. I know it depends on my situation, but discuss some typical examples. I don't really want to be non-passive, but I could talk myself into it and have fun if I was making, or saving, a bundle
