Thank You Anne. Beautiful Black Pine. nice repotting. Anne l have a 25 year 3 metre Fusia growing in the ground in Melb. lt has plenty of new growth at the moment in our winter. l want to dig it out and make a Bonsai from it. Should l cut it back heavy now and dig out in our spring? Cheers. Congrats on 2k subscribers already.

Hi there Thank you to answer your question Best is You cut back at the same time u dig up so the tree will only stress ones But if you cut back this spring and dig up next year early spring would be the idea

i wish i had a local place to buy the real japanese soils near me. gets costly to ship those big heavy bags. i use turface instead. and regular sand. pine bark. peat and perlite. mix changes per trees needs. thank you madam! beautiful tree

Turface, pine bark and perlite sounds like a perfectly serviceable mix. Lots of growers seem to have arrived at general recipes of porous stone + fired clay + coarse organics. Personally I use lava mulch for the rock and a locally produced fired clay with pine bark. No need to ship dirt around the globe.
Thank you Anne ,I enjoyed this demo ,thank you for the soil mix,Do you think the soil mix will be OK in Sydney which has been very hot this year
