Replicating a Tabletop War Game From 1967 | Board Game Overhaul: Feudal

In this video I overhaul the classic 3M board game Feudal. This chess like tabletop game was created in 1967 and still holds up, a few changes is all it needs to find a spot on my current board gaming shelf.

OMG! Had just told my friend at work about this game today and dug out my original copy of it that I have had since probably 1971 to show him. So of course I had to go looking to see who had videos on it, but what you have done for it is AMAZING! Truly a great work of craftsmanship! Would love to see this board in action.. and yes... you could get a LOT of people playing this game again with a board and custom miniatures like that! It was, and I am sure still is, a TON of FUN to play. Thanks for doing this and showcasing an absolute gem of a game and giving it a fantastic makeover!

Your reimagining here really gives this game the visual fidelity it deserves. I picked up a copy of the bookshelf game box version a couple weeks ago and played it the other day, in a 2v2 match. It was honestly refreshing with its chess-like simplicity--pieces don't have powers, there are no dice or cards, etc. that a more modern board game might have. Not that I dislike modern games, but it's really refreshing to have something that is quite simple to play while having a lot of strategic depth. For a game I'd never heard of before seeing it on the local game store's used games shelf, it holds up really well!

It really is a great game. Something you can teach in less than 5 minutes but the games could last longer than an hour while you stress over every move your opponent could make. I still need to make 2 more factions so I can play a 3v3 or 6 person Free for All.

I played this back in the 80s with my best friend! It was his Dad's from back in the day. Good times!!! This is some deep nerdery right here boys and girls. This game is pretty obscure. Awesome video by the way dude! 12:26

Man, I used to play this all the time as a little kid. I think despite my dozens of games, I may have played one or two with the actual rules of the game. ...to be a kid again.

I was considering it but thought it would be weird or confusing to make a how to play video with my board looking so different from the original game. I may do a gameplay or battle report in the future.
