Replacing our RV Shurflo Water Pump with a Seaflo 42 Series Water Pump

Our Shurflo 4008-101-E65 freshwater supply pump started acting up, so I decided to replace it with a Seaflo 42 Series Pump. In this video I will show the removal of the Shurflo pump. Installation of the Seaflo pump and how it works.
IMPORTANT -
Viewer swabbievet shared this valuable information so I'm sharing it for everyone to see.
"I got a hold of Seaflo Support and they said a 10 amp fuse is sufficient to run that pump even with 7.5 surge. I asked why the manual says a 15 amp is required and he said it was a misprint. It will be corrected when they make new manuals. Thought you should know."
I hope you check out some of my other videos by clicking this link, they may be helpful to you in some way. Thanks for watching and happy camping!

Michael, Awesome job on detailing everything! I have the very same trailer that you have. The handle on your faucet faces to the right side just as mine, The first time I had the water running, and I reached cross with my left hand to turn it off. I burned myself I decided to rotate the handle to the center of the sink it was pretty simple. I just grabbed it and twisted it to the center. It actually tightened it up. It made a huge difference. I can use either hand to turn the water on and off, and not worry about burning myself. I’ve been looking at the same seaflo 42 series for a replacement pump but wasn’t sure how well it would work now I know. Thanks for that!

Thanks again for watching, commenting, and sharing your ideas with me. That's a great idea on moving the handle towards the sink. I'm going to do it and mention you in a video for recommending it if that's okay with you? Are you in a Facebook Lance Group and if so which one(s)? What's your name if you don't mind me asking?

Have you considered adding an accumulator? I’ve read pros and cons about them. Some folks say it doesn’t make much difference.

I thought about installing one but so far from what I'm seeing with this pump I may not need one. We will see over time :)

Like the video a lot. My question is, since my current pump has a 10amp fuse in the breaker box, is it ok to put a 15 amp fuse in its place without messing anything up and negating any warranty?

Thank you. I replaced the 10 amp fuse in the panel with a 15 amp fuse. With our trailer this fuse also provides power to the heater and monitoring panel. I could have installed a 15 amp fuse in one of the open fuse locations in the panel that was not being used and moved the water pump wire over to it, and left the 10 amp fuse in place for the heater and monitoring panel. But I decided to just change out the fuse to the 15 amp. Personally I'm not worried about upsizing the fuse with what is in connected to it. Regarding negating the warranty it might be a problem but I don't see something happening. If you are worried you can do what I mentioned above regarding putting the water pump wire on its own 15 amp fuse. I'm curious if you have in your panel the water pump already wired to a dedicated 10 amp fuse you can just change out the fuse and not worry about it. www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos

Thank you for all the information. The breaker box has a dedicated spot for the water pump that is 10 amp. Since the trailer is new with a crappy pump I’d better check with Keystone first to play it safe before swapping out the fuse.

Hello Harold - Yes I have, I wish the builders of all trailers would stop doing this. I will be fixing all this in the future and making a video on it. Thanks so much for watching and bringing mentioning the Pex clamps being used for the wrong application. www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos
