Replacing Magura brake pads MT5 / MT7 - Express in 3 minutes

Спорт

As we are often asked how to change the pads on the Magura MT5 / MT7, we have created a guide for you.
It works in a similar way for practically all disc brakes.
You can find suitable brake pads in our shop:

How do you fit the one piece pads in so easily? I have such troubles every time, like the opening for the pads is too small.

Hi, if you push the pistons all the way back and the system is not overfilled (! e.g. no bleed block used when bleeding) the one-piece pads should also be easy to fit.

@tuning-bikes Thanks! I did that and they went in. I had less than ideal tools to push the pistons all the way in.

Use Hex wrench instead of Alan (nobody knows him except for Americans), especially since you are from Germany, people who love the "KZ" sound in words. I'm not sure about this brake system. Pretty flaky and short lifespan. My Cube Cargo is a maintanance challenge, not able to match a car I try to replace. 10000km on a set of pads for non-hilly street use is too short IMO, I expect 30000-50000 km at least. A shaft brake usually works as long as the bike lasts.
