your method was right, in order to change only one cell but you need to verify the voltage in all the cells and need to make it the same by connecting all the cells in parallel connection for about 40 minutes to 2 hours, then you need to connect the cells in serial connection and put the battery back to the car, before you try to start the car you must erase the fault codes using a EOBD 2 connector very cheap in ebay or amazon for about 10 or 15 dlls, and using an app ready in google play for toyota, lexus and scion hybrid cars, the instructions to do it are very easy, if you can take an eobd 2 scanner like a launch x431, you can also disconnect the 12v battery for 5 or 10 min, this will erase the codes in the ECM. good look

Can you do a video on removing and cleaning the hybrid fan? I noticed from tons of other videos that's what causes the battery to fail is they fan gets dirty and doesn't cool properly causing the battery to overheat and fail. I'm guessing that's what happened to your's as well. Can you do a video on removing and cleaning the hybrid fan?

If this error is still here even after replacing the cells, it’s because they need to be balanced with the others. If I’m right, the new cells you ordered are not fully charged, maybe 30% only. It’s for safety purpose.

Very good info Yuri If you could just do another take with real lighting it would be much more helpful to understand the process because it seems like we're all on some sort of covert op while watching this

I am confused. did it work for you or not. did you change the right battery cells or you changed the wrong one. the check Hybrid System light was still on in the end of the Video. Please write what if it was a successful project or not? I have the same care with the same problem.

I believe when a battery cell is dead you have to replace all battery cells not individuals ... This will certainly will cost more but will be better for sure!

Well then the best bet would be to replace it witha new one.

Each cell CANNOT be more than 0.1 to 0.3 difference in voltages or you will get a computer error!

It's NOT recommended by ANYONE to replace individual cells in your hybrid battery pack!! High Voltage is a KILLER!!! Also could cause a fire!! The cell you're replacing with HAS TO MATCH THE VOLTAGE OF THE OTHER CELLS or the hybrid battery pack computer will throw error codes disabling your hybrid battery pack!! Again, NOT RECOMMENDED by anyone, really!

@@danielbob4310 I'm not an electrical engineer but I have been trained as a technician many years ago. 1.2 volts or even 3.7 volts is not a killer, no! Not even 1 million volts will kill if the current stays under 40 milli volts across your heart. It's the current that flows across your heart that is the killer! It doesn't take much current across your heart to cause it to stop. My point is that the higher the voltage, the easier current will flow thru you making it lethal!

@@buddysteve5543 ok. I am an Electrical Engineer. As long as you know what you are doing you will not be electrocuted. I have worked and commissioned HV power lines before and I have worked in a company that manufactures switch gears and circuit breakers. As I am typing this message I have my 2014 Es300H hybrid battery opened and I am trying to recondition the batteries. Wish me luck
