Happy 63rd birthday Marc. The van is getting the present. You only get more work. Such is life mate. At least you still have your bike. 30 miles no problem for you. God bless you.

Thanks for the video. My 2002 Express 2500 gas gauge is irratic, say 1/2 full when it's full. Basically have to write down the mileage when I fill it up. I'm asssuming it's the sending unit. It runs fine. The van has close to 100k mileage. Since they have to drop the tank to replace the sending unit should I have the fuel pump replaced. Also when the van is idling the oil gauge bounces close to zero but when I raise the RPM or drive it the oil pressure comes back to normal. Is that the oil sending unit or should I have the oil pump replaced. Thanks for you answer in advance.

Normally the oil pressure does drop at idle, this corresponds to the oil pressure sending unit...Thats just a golf ball sized threaded unit that screws into the engine housing on the casing. The fuel pump will give erratic or false reading yep.... Get the OEM unit lets say delco or the like...dont get the cheep one. If you do it yourself its very easy... but make sure your tank is near empty. Im 64 and did it myself..just takes like three hours... Good luck...

@@ohcrapwhatsnext I'm 65 so no I'm not going to do the work myself. Lol. But I will use the OEM A Delco with the new sending unit. Hopefully after these repairs I won't have any guage issues. Like I said the van runs great. I really appreciate your response.

Besides AC Delco, the OEM was Delphi for most if not all the parts. Replacing the oil pressure switch is not hard as long as you have a oil pressure switch socket and ratchet, it’s accessible underneath the interior engine cover (doghouse).
