Good advice on the ground cable. It is extremely important, and I feel most ppl overlook this connection.
With corrosion in the wires your better off replacing the whole cable. The corrosive cancer goes all the way. This is good advice for quick fixes.

Elaborate? I couldn’t just skin the wires down until I find good copper and then make a new connection like this?

Is there a link for the replaced wire needed?
this is where you go if you want to find out how to do it right the first time
This was great...the method was good too.
i use conductive grease on the terminals then wipe off extra and use a brush to coat whole battery terminal and ends of wire with silicone grease and they never corrode that way might get some dust on the grease, but it stays good till battery dies in 5 or 6 years.
Someone else mentioned the braiding does something to not interfere with your radio signal? I think they said you could get away with a wire for temporary purpose but it'll interfere easier than with the braiding. Nice video.

Interesting, I’ve always heard that braided wire or flex a lot without breaking. Never heard about the radio signal improvement. They’ve been putting resistors in spark plugs for a while to try to not interfere with the radio. Years ago I have spark plugs without that resistor and the radio just harmed every time you accelerated. At first it was funny, then it was extremely annoying to the point of not turning on the radio.

@@livefree6878 I remember our 81, I think, Ford pick up with acceleration in the radio. Cool how things work annoying or not and someone finds a way to curb or reduce the problem.

I've heard of ground wire from fire wall to hood to improve radio signal on ford's. As for braided vs wire temporary fix i think that in the radios case that's a gauge thing as most people would use a tiny little wire compared to a 4 gauge braided cable.

@@FAKE-NAME i think my jeep has a wire. I was wondering about its ground. I have no radio to test its audio interference
Where do you buy the copper sleeve?

@@ModyTech I was asking because I need it for the alternator not the one on the battery they sell those in the auto part stores and they don't have the one I need either they are to big because they are battery terminals or to small because they are for smaller wire.
The lug that connects at the battery that you put the two wires into you purchased? If not how did you flare the end where you put the two wires into? At 1:50 you can see the flare.
I was just thinking how can I clean them.
All those links but the equipment used here. WHY?
will electrical tape work as good as the heat shrink? if i get it water tight

I wouldn't do it! Heat shrink tubing is cheap and works great!
