Replacing ‘09 Forester Side Mirror - Step by Step!
Ойын-сауық
This is made for beginners! I had to replace the side mirror on my ‘09 Subaru Forester and ran into a few little issues, so I wanted to put a video out to show that just about ANYONE can replace their mirror, you don’t need to know much other than how to use a screwdriver and a socket wrench!
Good luck, let me know in the comments if this was helpful and how your project came out!

Nothing but respect for a man who can do most jobs with his multitool. 👍👍👍
Thank you. I just orderd a Mirror because my canoe felt down and broke it. Now I m prepared to fix it. I hope😂
This is what youtube is for. Thanks! Going to work on this in a few weeks.
Thanks for this. If you can be bothered to replace that one little piece that broke you're a better man than me. I would say she's good enough haha
Helped, thx. 2011 forestor accepts the 2012-2014 side mirror. Only difference- bolts are 5/16
Thank you for this video! Had to borrow a ratchet set from a neighbor to get the right size, but other than that it was a 30-45 minute job with no issues. All the door clips survived the procedure.
Thanks man. A random flying slab of sheet metal on the interstate did the same to my Forester. Glad you got it sorted.
Thanks, this helped for my 2011, too. The weather strip has to go up and over the metal edge of the inner door. If you originally had heated mirror, which is part of the cold weather package, you can adapt the non-heated mirror by cutting the purple wires flush on the old plug, and splicing the black, blue, and brown ones to the non-heated mirror. I had to do this and it worked, but sacrificed the heated feature.
Thank you-this was my first attempt at replacing a body part, and your video helped me know what to expect. Success!

Nice work! Satisfying, isn’t it?
Another tip: The painted part can be removed and installed onto the replacement mirror. There's a gap at the outer edge, work in a hard plastic shim of somekind, get you fingers in there under the bottom edge, and pop it off. There are several snap-ins behind it.
worked for me, thanks
Where did you buy your passenger mirror with the matching color?

I honestly can’t remember, but what I did was look up the color code number, which is on the tag on the car, and then search for that, and found the part that worked
