Same! Told me to contact the property manager. Property manager said to contact a locksmith. Locksmith said it'd be about $200. I said hell no.

Thanks! I fixed my own mailbox lock because my super is a lazy jerk! My mailbox wasn’t locking and I wasn’t getting my mail due to that. If I had to wait for my super ill get it fixed-in 5 years.

Thank you! I was going crazy trying to replace my mailbox lock. It wouldn't work because I didn't know that the lock needs to be install without the key and more importantly the lock needs to be locked position. There are many videos on how to replace a mailbox lock but they don't tell the important details. Once again thank you for sharing this video.

This absolutely drove me nuts today and i was not successful in replacing the lock. My mailbox does not have that lip. It has a slot on the inside. Might try again later but so far not good. I just realized my original lock is a clockwise lock. The lock i was using is counter clockwise

Great video! Just wondering what the diameter of the shaft of this lock is? The hole on my mailbox door has a diameter of 15 mm, so I wonder if this particular lock would fit. Thank you.

I realize you probably have this solved by now, but when I'm trying to replace a part, if I can, I try to take the original part with me when I go to the store. Helps to make sure I have the same size, same fit, etc. Just wanted to leave a note in case someone else has the same problem.

You can buy from any hardware store these use the NA14 key blanks.

I need a replacement key for my mailbox but there is different ones available I.e. 16mm versus 20mm. How do I know which one is right?

What size is the nut? My set didn't come with one just the slider

Depending on your set up some come with a nut... some come with a slider... newer packets come with both. The nut or slider is just to hold the lock in place. If yours has only the slider it should work and the nut is not necessary.
