Repatriation of 33 Australian soldiers killed During the Vietnam War - ABC News Special Coverage
ABC News footage from 2016 at Richmond Airbase Sydney
Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War began with a small commitment of 30 military advisors in 1962, and increased over the following decade to a peak of 7,672...
From the time of the arrival of the first members of the Team in 1962 almost 60,000 Australians, including ground troops and air force and navy personnel, served in Vietnam; 521 died as a result of the war and over 3,000 were wounded.
By the time the last Australian personnel were withdrawn in 1972, the Vietnam War had become Australia's longest war, eventually being surpassed by Australia's long-term commitment to the War in Afghanistan...

My Father fought in the Pacific in WW II. He had nothing but good to say about his "Aussie" friends! May God Bless these fallen soldiers and comfort their families.

Johnboy using wifes computer. My Dad was a top turret gunner on a B25 in New Guina(spelling) and a purple heart veteran. His most interesting stories were those of the Aussies and the everyday people he met while in Australia. He even went kangaroo hunting with an Aussie millionaire for a month while recovering from wounds-a great story all by itself. My Dad had a tremmendous respect for the everyday people of Australia and for the soliders and airman of Australia. It was a respect that lasted his whole life. He was a man very much defined by the events of WW2 as were many Australians and Americans.
Welcome home brothers from an a Vietnam veteran is the US. RIP at home now. Salute.

Respect the soldiers, never the politicians.
All too often it's the USA who has the most KIAs and the most coverage of their repatriation home. Lest we forget our comrades in arms from across the world who also died in action. To Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Britain, and all other countries, we share in your loss and we offer a shoulder whenever it's needed. God Bless You, from a veteran in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

It was quite good in evoking the sense of being in battle. However some glaring factual mistakes...no, they didn't run completely out of ammo, no, Major Smith wasn't a cunt lol, no he didn't carry a sidearm...and the dialogue was yankified Hollywood in many cases, unfortunately. Not how Australian troops of the 1960s spoke. And the trigger discipline, ouch lol
Our Vietnam vets were not welcomed home like they should've been, here's to all Vietnam vets who weren't welcomed home. You are not forgotten, you have our deepest respect. Lest We Forget
Rest in Peace.. Thank you for your sacrifice.. From a Canadian...

Heart breaking
So sorry your loyalty cost your country these lives. America owes you!
Several years ago, I visited the military cemeteries at Normandy...American, Canadian and British. Very moving. I would like all those American so-called athletes (aka scumbags) who dishonour their flag and country by kneeling during their country's national anthem to visit Normandy. Walk among the rows of crosses. These are the young men who gave THEIR lives for your freedom. You should hang your head in shame for kneeing. It's a slap-in-the-face to all those who died so that you could enjoy the freedom of America.
after so long, welcome home mates
At the going down of the sun...........We Will Remember Them. R.I.P
