Repairing a leaky Laser hull
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Did a much needed winter overhaul on my 1978 Laser dinghy.
This is my first time doing boat repairs so I’m sure I did a lot wrong! Please add tips in the comments below.
When sanding do it in a well ventilated space and wear a mask.

I had a Rubber Laser...everytime it blew force 5-7 I would try to break it but it just kept flexing and cracking...LoL...ps the mast and boom had permanent bends 😃

Did i just see you fill in scratches with paint? They looked pretty deep, i would have used epoxy or probably even better gelcode for that for sure. How is it holding up though? Edit: was that some kind of special boat paint or what did you use?

Sorry for late reply. Yes for the majority, just topcoat marine paint (Toplac). I did use a bit of resin around the daggerboard where they were more structural and there was some cracking. There were too many scratches to do them all with resin - would probably make more sense to just buy a hull in better condition! It’s held up pretty well - I’ve discovered a new leak deep inside the daggerboard housing though which I need to get around to sorting.
